Hey all! Got a question. I ordered the Note8 via AT&T today. Surprisingly, it's already shipped out and being delivered tomorrow...

It is being delivered by Fedex but I won't be home to receive it. Since I'm worried about the package being stolen.. If I schedule a hold at location, will it be available for pick up tomorrow?

In my experience with holding at a fedex location, it's the same day. Meaning, if my package is set to arrive on a Thursday to my house, if I elect to hold at a local facility (I usually do it a few days before the delivery day), it just goes straight to that facility and I just go get it there... same day as delivery. And for me, it's usually there faster. my local fedex store usually gets them in around 11am whereas the delivery truck driver usually comes by my house around 5-6pm. Of course, YMMV, but that's the way it is for me. BUT, for my Galaxy S8, I wasn't able to choose the delivery to a fedex location but I also ordered directly from samsung.com. AT&T could allow it.

Just hold down the GPS toggle, and it'll take you directly there. Look at the bottom of the screen, under location service. Tap on each instance of Google Location History and then turn off of the option if the option to do so is available. Remember, you're not turning off GPS, only Google Location History.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to do that once I get my Note8!

Yes, if you call FedEx or go online you can have them hold the package in a center.

So I just preordered my Note8 earlier this evening. Does anyone have any recommended cases or screen protectors yet? It looks like there’s not a good selection of tempered glass screen protectors yet and I’m hoping that’ll change.

So it seems the note 8 in everythingapplepro video was second place behind the iPhone in a speed test. I am really shocked how much slower the s8 plus was compared to the note 8.

Do yourself a favor and grab the Spigen Rugged Armor case. I posted a pic a few pages back. It's minimal size with maximum protection. I never used a screen protector for my Note 7 and my current S7 Edge, and the screens are mint condition. As long as you don't get sand in your pockets from the beach or playground with the kids, you really don't need a screen protector these days. Nothing beats the feel of the actual display.

Thanks! The Spigen Tough Armor and Rugged Armor are on my list of cases to look at. As for screen protectors I use one for two reasons. Habit and I have a habit of inadvertently putting keys or a money clip in my pocket with my phone. It’s more insurance against the insurance. However, the tempered glass selection doesn’t look to be that good.

I got my Note 8. It's beautiful, responsive, great pictures perfect width and unfortunately not for me because Apple has me locked up into their Eco System. I transferred everything from my iPhone over and it was a pain in the arse. Music missing, contacts missing etc. etc. Those who are going Android to Android or have are more savvy will love this phone.

BTW, I had already purchased a case, Spigen Rugged Armor, perfect case for this phone. You won't regret it!

Takes some getting use to if you are new. I have had both systems for quite some time so it's easy for me to get everything synced up. Anyway, good luck.

Hey guys, is there still a quick camera action?
I love being able to double tap the home button for camera even when it's locked.
I'm guessing/hoping there's a similar action on the Note 8?

Cheers in advance :)

Wow, Flossy's excited! Hopefully, soon, I will order mine. For those with theirs, enjoy.

That video was rigged in favour of the Note8 - The tester forgot to save the video for the Note8. If he did the s8 plus and note 8 would be very similar in speed (at least for the first run).

Edit: something very strange about the video export section. Up to that point they were neck and neck. It would seem the Note 8 skipped the preparing video task. You can see the Note 8 had 3 videos already there (maybe the video was already prepared?). In any case - taking out the video export test, the Note 8 and s8 are about the same.
