Per what owners of the phones on androidcentral its between 6-7 hours. for a lot of people. Originally there was youtube videos getting more than the s8 plus on battery life.

Mine out lasts my iPhone 7 plus.

I keep mine on auto all the time. And I can get two days of use if I wanted too.

That's understandable with iOS standby which barely uses any battery. But Android still drains a bit even in standby. But if you were using both heavy, the iPhone would be dead way before the Note 8.

Mine out lasts my iPhone way way more. It's wonderful not having to worry about the battery life as much. Plus stick it on the charger for 10 minutes gets me like 20-30% extra charge.

Not in my use, but everyone's is different. My 7+ seemed to outlast my Note 8 for sure, both with very heavy use. But I'm not here to compare 7+ vs Note 8 in this thread but to merely say, the 7+ (for me) had stellar battery life, under heavy usage. Note 8 is doing very good to me but I do get "range anxiety" in the evenings.

7+ definitely has better battery life. Disabling and deleting junk-ware helps as well as deleting Facebook and social media apps that constantly share your information. This is the main reason why ios does so well on battery life. It prevents apps from constantly uploading your personal info in the background.

Not in any test compared to the Note 8.

Can anyone recommend me a decent screen on notification sapp like an iPhone.

Ideally id like when I get a notification it turns the screen on bypasses the AOD and shows the lock screen with the notification.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Thankyou

Textra for texting does it well. You have to configure it.

Not in any test compared to the Note 8.

How about the test of owning and using the phone for about 2 weeks? Compared to my 7+ my Note 8 does has worse battery life. For instance, if I leave my Note off the charger all night it eats a good 10 - 15 percent battery life. The 7+ would down about 5 - 8 percent. This is with all social media bs deleted and pretty much exact same usage between the phones.

I think my 7 plus drops like 14-15% overnight. Might be due to notifications during the night though

Mine drops a fair hit overnight too. Anyhow I think my battery has deteriorated since I first got it. First about 1-2 months ago and again after iOS 11. Shockingly through my series 0 Apple Watch has better battery life on Watch OS 4. Maybe I can hang on a little bit longer for the series 3 on O2.

Will get series 3 but only if I can get the x on EE. Although I’m i’m not sure how likely that will be compared to with apple

Lol. Sorry I've had the note 8 for 2 weeks and the battery kills my iPhone 7 plus. Stand by usage that is normal but when using the note 8 will last much longer. Learn to monitor the bad apps.

As mentioned, an individuals choice in the software they run plays a huge impact on battery life. Facebook is one of the worst offenders. I honestly wish Android would allow more control over background apps via the OS. I really dislike apps communicating my info constantly but alas it is the way things are done thesedays. App developers love Android for this and complain ios does a lot more to protect privacy. I really do miss this in ios.

Curious what you all use for your news apps. I really like the iOS news app that pulls from many sources. Is there a comparable app?

What about if you have a faulty handset?
