From what I read the iPhone 8 is losing because it has 4 low power cores and navigating the OS and opening apps just isn't pushing the processor enough into using the high power cores while with the iPhone 7 the high power cores are being used which is why the 7 beats the 8 while launching apps as does the Note 8. This won't be fixed by a software update. It's just a case of Apple's Soc being just too powerful for iOS.

You guys should know by now the 2 apple apologists that have been hanging out here in the alternative section just has one agenda. They want to detail threads. They can't do that if no one talks to them.

Just don't engage the apologists.

They are just here to derail the threads with useless rhetoric.

Oh my goodness. A nice cogent discussion is welcome, but hypocrisy runs deep with name calling galore by the same people who don’t want this behavior. Now back to the regularly scheduled discussion of the note 8.

Before my time with the iPhone. My first was the 4S.

Though, when evaluating back in 2011 if I wanted to join AT&T and go Apple from my Galaxy S2, the whole antenna gate issue came across as much ado about nothing.
True, it was, but I also was able to replicate the issue. I just never held it that way again. But either way, Apple has a tendency to ignore issues.

He is right, do you even post in the actual iPhone threads or do you just like to troll the alternative section? Looking at your post history it seems 95% of your posts are in the alternative section....

But you and the rest of the Apple faithful, religiously tell us Apple doesn't rush things. You guys preach how Apple gets things right before they release anything. What now?
Bottom line: iPhones don't run as smooth and lag free as the faithful would like to make everyone believe. What good are updates when you gotta wait for another update to fix what the first update messed up?The sooner you accept this fact, the sooner you can stop making excuses for Apple.

No worries, enjoy your note 8 with a year old OS. By the time you get the update you can buy a note 9 with a year old OS. It's a vicious cycle to have to put up with, each to their own though.

I'm on the way to getting 7-8 hours of on screen time at this rate.

A year old OS that still has way more functionality then the latest watered down version of iOS each year. Updates are only as good as the content within.

With that year old OS still receiving regular security updates it’s not such a problem. With the way Apple software quality has gone downhill during the last couple of years, I’m starting to prefer the Android model where you get security updates also for older OS versions. When Apple releases a new iOS version, you pretty much have to upgrade to get the latest security updates, regardless of how badly it runs on your hardware or whatever it breaks. It seems to be rare for Apple to patch older iOS versions nowadays even though they’ve done it on a couple of occasions earlier.

People who don't engage in circlejerks aren't necessarily apologists. When you step away from the Apple Church you'll be able to see that for yourself. Hopefully you're not too far gone. :(
your wasting your time you cannot reason or have discussion with the apple apologist that has a closed mind.

Ignore them both and when they have no one to talk to they will go away....
