Not for the 360. Wireless Qi charging FTW. Not to mention, the watch becomes a nice table side clock while it charges at night.

I don't really regard that as a solution.

The whole point is to not take it off my wrist on a nightly basis. Qi charging does me no favors in that regard.

Battery life is a concern for me.

Right now I am using a Samsung Gear Fit, and I get 4-5 days of use on a single charge, or 3 days if I hit the gym a lot and make use of the heart monitor.

Charging a watch nightly just seems like a pain in the ass

I used to feel the same way--could get 2-3 days of use on my Microsoft Band and 5-7 days on my Pebble. The problem was, without the regular routine of something like the nightly charging of my phone, I too often unexpectedly ran out of battery because I'd forget to look at the remaining battery. It's much easier to remember to just drop it on the charger on the nightstand at the same time as my phone..remembering every 4-5 days is less natural, at least for me.

Ideally, I'd love a solid 2 days so that on the off chance i forget to take it off and charge it, I won't be SOL the next day. Of course, extra battery life is great but I don't want at the expense of a bigger, bulkier watch.

I have worn a watch 24/7 since I was a kid half a century ago.

My solution to the charging dilemma is simple: I swap every day or so between two watches! Takes just seconds to put one on its charger and grab the refreshed one to use.

It also lets me a have a different look if I wish.

I think I paid about $150 for a Moto 360, and $200 on eBay for a used LG Watch R that I polished back to its shiny stainless steel body. Then I added an SS link band to the Moto, and a nice stitched leather band to the LG. With the round displays and good bands they both look classy.

So for about the price of a new big aluminum Apple Sport, I have two nice stainless steel watches that I wear all the time. I never have to be without my wrist notifications :)

Besides not being compatible to all Android phones, Tizen is pretty damn good. I know people that had issues on their 360 and Gear Live smartwatches. I never had one issue with my Gear 2 Neo. And battery life on Tizen Gear watches are amazing.

I'm pretty sure any Tizen watch Samsung puts out will be solid. As far as Touchwiz, that depending on the model of phone.

I just sold my gear 2 it has no popular apps, the interface is boring, the clock doesn't always light up when lifting my arm up. The watch itself has no style just a block of metal. The few clocks I bought were lagging as hell. Tizen in general is more plain then iOS. So I'm not falling for Samsungs new shiny toy. I moved onto an LG G watch R mainly for the apps, always on and my favorite "ok google".

Dennis Miloseski just put up a pic on Instagram of his Gear S2. I'm liking it and will buy first day.

According to the rumors, you navigate by sliding your finger around the bezel.

Ugh. This brings back nightmares of my Garmin Forerunner 410 from years ago.

If this if true I hope they've done a better job.

I've used my Gear S since day one and like it a lot. The charger design is crap so hopefully they will impliment the magnetic moto 360 style charging. Otherwise, the device works pretty well.

We just got back from a 14 day vacation and I Never carried my Note with me while out; only my Gear S. Worked flawlessly and lasted over 18hrs with lots of use via notifications still. Made a couple calls, and used the heck out of the step counter and health apps.

That is a real smart watch for me. Can't wait until other oems embrace stand alone too. Waterproof would be a dream.

I would only want stand alone, if the carriers implement a way for my smartphone and smartwatch to have the same number.

I hear you that would be wonderful, but I could compromise with workarounds because I want it bad. If I'm not mistaken it's just outgoing calls that are effected by the second number, could definitely be mistaken

Huawei has announced pricing for their smart watch - $350 to $800 for a gold plated model.

http://www.droid-life.com/2015/08/28/huawei-watch-pre-order-amazon/

These watches always look better in PR shots than in real life IMO. In the PR shots they're able to make the display look like an analog watch using skeuomorphic watch faces. In real life you get this:

I think those prices will be a hard sell in the Android space.
