Interesting, we've only got a couple of weeks to find out. I wonder if they will have a Gemini competitor and that's what they are going to announce. As in a live being able to chat with Gemini, but then why would they be rumoured to give Gemini advanced subscription for 12 months as a perk 🤔
I think they have deals with Google to release Gemini features first like they did with circle to search.
According to ICE there are AI features that have not been leaked yet so we might be in for a surprise.

My predictions are there will be rounded corners and thinner bevels with the fastest SD 8 Elite processor on an Android phone. Minor evolution type improvements for the camera.
But you know...haters are gonna hate....no matter what Samsung does.

But for me personally, and I might be in the minority with this POV. But the rounded corners are a big win.
I love my S24U and it is a powerhouse. But I hate the sharp squared corners feel in my hands. Especially when I put it in my pocket. But the squared shape is iconic for the Note line up that they no longer produce.

I wish Google allowed Samsung to take Imagen 3 from Pixel Studio… that’s what I’m interested in using. I don’t really care for the sketch AI feature.

My issue with the rounded corners is that it takes away from what you mention… the iconic shape of the Note, but if it helps with the experience. Then it’s a win.

As long as Samsung don’t the S-Pen away, that’s where they would completely lose users.

I don't see why they can't do both......
Make 2 models...one with rounded corners and one with squared corners.

But I do think it is funny when people say a S25U with rounded corners will look like an iPhone...so they won't buy it.
Instead they will get a Google Pixel..........

Google and Samsung do work together, however I can’t see them giving away the Pixel Studio feature, they need something for Pixel users. I do like what Google have done tho, apparently it’s not as restrictive as Apple’s image playground.

Consider Image Playground a feature that I thought was cool for about 5 minutes and haven't used it again.
It is an absolute joke compared to Pixel Studio. Pixel Studio is kinda fun to play around with every now and then. Image Playground is so cartoony that I don't even bother with it. There are much better AI photo generators than Image Playground on the App Store.

Image playground won't even create a lot of images, Apple is too restrictive on what they will allow it to create.
From what I've seen Studio can create a lot more images and is far less restrictive.

It's one of the reasons I'm thinking of a Pixel instead of the S25 Ultra. Google all under one roof, YouTube, Gmail, Google Home (for my Philips Hue lights and Google nest mini). Maybe trade in my S24 Ultra when the Pixel 10 comes out.

Yeah, as tempting as Sammy devices are, I'm thinking if I really do dump Apple, the Pixel would be the way to go. I just really hate Apple as a company and I don't want to argue politics, so please respect that it's my personal decision to really not like the donation Tim gave too. So I'm kind of done with Apple as a whole, just need to make a long term decision.

That’s the beauty of choice… with Samsung, Google or Apple, can’t go wrong with either one.

I choose Samsung because of Good Lock (Multi-Star & Sound Assistant) and stylus support, but Google has the lead when it comes to their AI tools and Apple is the best when it comes to ecosystem.

I have been told that Pixel is the way to go if your a long time Apple user who wants to jump over. It’s not as overwhelming and similar in ways.

Google seem to have made more improvements over the past year. Be interesting to see what they have coming this year, the same with Samsung. 2024 seemed very flat for Apple, I brought no Apple products in 2024! That’s a first for me.

If it wasn't for the ecosystem I could easily walk away from Apple. But, even though RCS is a huge step forward, almost everyone I talk to daily uses iPhones and iMessage is just so convenient and the encryption is an added bonus. I love having my MacBook Pro out at a meeting and it automatically connects to the hotspot on my iPhone. I think I saw you mention it in this and another thread, but the way it automatically fills in one time pins texted to you without having to copy and paste. And the iPhone camera is still the most consistent shooter of all the devices I have. Alot of little conveniences that are hard to give up. Pixels are my favorite and the most fun devices to use IMO. The AI is class leading, call screening is unmatched, and the 9PF is just an amazing device, but I just keep getting pulled back to the dang iPhone even though its not my favorite by any stretch.

Lol… I’m a long time Apple user, purchased the original iPhone when it was first announced (stayed consistently with them up until the X generation). Still remember those camp outs at the Apple Store… but I simply want more out of a 1k+ device… and so far, Samsung gets me there.

It's the Apple Watch and Airpod Pros for me. That would be the toughest part. I do really like my AW Ultra 2 but then the other part of me wonders if I really need a watch. LOL

I am not so sure Google lead in all AI features if you travel internationally or live overseas Samsung integration of translation in some 3rd party apps is hard to beat and is a real game changer :)

Will the S25 have the new battery technology as found the OnePlus 13 as that seems to make a lot of difference to size and performance?

Not sure about the battery tech you are talking about. But OPO phones pretty much has super fast charging down. But then does the OPO 13 have an S-Pen or the camera zoom of he S25? Does the OPO 13 have the AI features the S25 has? They all have different features that set them apart.

by all reports the S25 ultra will have plenty of new al features so samsung may be ahead after a few weeks.

Really not too much of a difference from rounded corners to squared corners in this photo

Bit disappointed, I was hoping we would see a redesign. Even the iPhone is rumoured to be getting a new design with the iPhone 17. Apparently it will look more Pixel like 😬
I get that they can’t change the shape or do anything drastic, but what about moving the camera lenses or something different, these designs are getting very stale.

what are they going to do to make us S24 Ultra users upgrade? At this point apparently even the cameras are not being upgraded (apart from a 50mp ultrawide).

What redesign were you looking for exactly? What rumors or leaks hinted at anything other than what the picture show?

I think for the bar shaped phones we are at a point in their evolution that not much will change from year to year models. Then moving the camera lenses around is a pretty drastic overhaul. It changes the arrangement of all of the internals as well. I do like the camera layout of the Pixels though. One nice bar that helps the phone not to wobble when on a flat surface.

I don't think there is much for a S24U owner to upgrade to be honest.
For me personally I am getting the S25U just for the rounded corners. The sharp squared corners of the S24U are a complete turn off for me. They are sharp in my hands and in my pocket.

I remembering seeing a post a while back, apparently Samsung hired a new guy and there was going to be a big redesign. Evidently that hasn’t happened.

I will see what happens at the event, there’s not long left now. But I may just wait for Pixel 10 and see if I feel like trading in my S24 Ultra towards it.

Wait a min… you are a primary iPhone user, every generation is nearly the same.

They have had the same 3 camera array for the past for the past 6 generations… starting with the 11 Pro, Apple doesn’t change much when it comes to design. It just seems hypocritical to expect that of other companies, as @jamezr pointed out… its not much to do with a bar shaped phone.

Unless you go the route of Nothing… with glyphs.
