The last 2 can be easily solved. Life360 is actually better than Find My Friends and RCS is now available on iOS, so iMessage is just meh now. But I hear you about pics of kids and Face ID
There is actually 2 settings
Quick tap shutter - Takes photo as soon as you touch
Prioritise focus over speed - Wait to finish focus before triggering shutter
The 2nd one can delay the shutter under certain conditions
Obviously there is no such thing as shutter lag on phones as there is no shutter in the true sense

You need to try yourself to find which one suits your shooting method, but for me indoors low light I see negligible difference between the phones for candid shots
It's why I have as a second device and the iPhone as my main phone. If I decide to go with the Pixel later this year, that may change. I've heard that the Pixel 9 Pro has the best camera, the Pixel 10 is likely to improve on that.
RCS is great...for 1% of iPhone owners around the world. This is so typical Apple though.
I’m not sure what the pre-order deal will be here in the UK. Last year it was good, they gave a free storage upgrade and a Galaxy Watch 6. I’ve got £100 off and further reductions for accessories. Not sure if I will upgrade tho, I’m going to wait and see what tomorrow brings. Maybe the Galaxy Ring 2 will be announced as well.
unfortunately RCS aint availeble in Czechia, somehow mobile providers did not launch it, blaming Apple (lol) it is not ready... and Life360 - they sell data, I am not that import that somenone will go specificaly after me, but hey, dont want my localisation data being sold by another company

I'm thinking if they offer anywhere close to $700 for my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I might do it. Currently Apple and Best Buy offer around $550 and Samsung historically offers better trade values than those two.

They usually do it as part of the pre-order, it's usually an offer of an increased trade in deal. Are you going to be giving the S25 Ultra a chance?
Maybe. I want to move on from Apple but I don't think the Pixel would keep me there. I actually used the S23 Ultra for almost 10 months before I went back, so they almost had me converted last time!
And Samsung seems to really be the leader when it comes to features and support.
I think I can get around the blurry pics of people and dogs by using burst or single take mode.
Nice, i hope tomorrow's event is good. I'll be watching even if I'm not planning on buying. Saying that tho, I may change my mind 😂
We won’t know the actual trade-in values until the event starts… but even if it’s between $550-$700 for your trade-in value… you get additional discounts that will be combined with your trade-in value.
Always better to go through Samsung for Galaxy devices, during the preorder of the Z Fold 6… I was able to score the 512gb for the same price of the 256gb.
Yea trade in towards another device isnt good, I looked at the trade in towards a Pixel 9 XL and they are offering £479 for my S24 Ultra. Interestingly they are offering more (£650) towards a Pixel 9 Pro Fold. So I'm guessing Samsung will probably be around £100 more with trade in deals.
That kind of sucks, only 4 Asian countries get 16gb ram?? No offense to those countries but it should be available globally.
If I was to upgrade to the s25 ultra I would want 16gb of ram.
More reason not to upgrade this year for me with the s24 ultra. I get that 16gb ram is probably not needed but if I am buying a phone titled ultra then it should be ultra in every sense. Lol
Still a struggle deciding between OneUi and Pixel UI after watching that video. I really like both but there’s something about that Pixel UI that’s so clean….yet boring at the same time. Ugh.
It is a hard choice with trade offs either way.
I personally like Pixel UI more than OneUI but I really prefer Samsung hardware. The hardware in the s25 ultra is just so much better and a faster processor that is more efficient.
I really wish you could get Pixel UI on the ultra.......oh well.
So I stick with Samsung until Google catches up in the processor. I don't need the fastest phone but fast is important.
Yeah man those Google editions were so good. I briefly had the Google edition of the S4 and that was awesome.
I think it’ll all come down to what the trade in value for my iPhone 15 PM is. And the kid and dog pics is still something in the back of my head that could really make or break this phone choice.
I feel like we had the same discussion with capturing motion (being bad) going back to like Galaxy S4 days haha
Yeah the S23 Ultra was a lot better but still was tough with my dogs. It was usually the waging tail that came out blurry.
lol no need to stress yourself out over it. I’d wait and read the reviews on the S25U and if it’s underwhelming get a great deal on a S24U or Pixel, or remain with your iPhone since it still does everything you need and there are a few things it sounds like you will miss. I already reactivated my eSIM on my 16PM. I obviously still get my android fix on my work line but I just can’t get away from the iPhone as much as I hate it at times.
