Do any of you Samsung faithful use Dex often?

That is one of the most compelling features for me as I look over from the Pixel garden. I love my P8P, however when connected to an external monitor, the support, resolution, and features are weak. The only thing it has over the iPhone in this regard is the ability to support Side-by-side, yet the iPhone kills it in resolution, and processing speed.

I am hoping the next Samsung gets a flagship Qualcomm processor so I can dabble more in that ecosystem.

I love DEX and have used it a lot in the past. I have even run it up the flagpole for my company to issue the S24U aa a company device for executives that travel alot between corporate locations. We have travel kiosks located at every location and all they would need to do it plug into a powered USB hub and get BT keyboard and mouse capabilities along with a 24 inch monitor connected tot he hub. It would streamline travel for these execs. They are considering it at the moment.

Who lead the smartphone space to the next evolution......it wasn't Apple. It was Samsung.
Who leads the space in displays....its not Apple again....Its Samsung.......even iPhones have Samsung displays.

That device is going to set a new bar for foldables for sure....But not for a few product releases. I think it is going to need time to evolve and work out the kinks. New product types and first generation devices always have issues.

When I first had the S23 back in August 2023 ... YES! I used it daily when working after business hours on call from Sick Kids using Connect for VM instances and to Azure Hyper-VMs. Wasn't easy setting up as I was learning on first tries but it was sweet!

Best worked with external Anker GaN charger + Logi Anywhere 2S + Logi mini keys. Something I've tried to do and NEVER could come close to doing with an iPhone, or ANY iPhone!! Even Landscape was automatic ... something just so easy that even Windows 2-in-1 laptops got right over 2 decades ago ... the iPhone + magic mouse 2 or trackpad 2 plus also the official Apple magic keyboard 1 and 2 FAILED to work as one would expect as a desktop replacement!

the damn iPhone 12 mini, 13 mini, iPhone 14 Pro, 15 Pro simply mirrored the same portrait orientation regardless of screen long being on when connected to AppleTV 4 on my TV! Landscape was only possible, and I mean this with excrutiating emphasis ONLY possible by physically rotating and keeping the iPhone in landscape mode! And I needed an external Apple piece of hardware to do this as my TV was not a smartTV!! ??

That's when I realized the iPhone is a modern day PHONE .... NOT a 'Smartphone' ! I mean I knew better as THAT was how it was advertised by Jobs at launch. FWD 17yrs later not much has really changed! When you're sucked into that ecosystem mindset not wanting to fiddle with your phone you forget to 'SEE' that obvious pitfall.

use cases:
Connect to work remotely over VPN - including/excluding need to connect to VMs or specific access granted applications only such as EPIC.
Connect to M365 for Document creation and editing, signing.
Connectx to M365 for cloud hosted files to access and or share.
Connect to Azure Hyper-V VMs for some serious educational learning and or work.
write a proper resume via M365 and save on device so that you can share and upload to ANY site directly on Mobile, no M365 link needed (but frustrating when uploading as an attachment in email, M365 default for sharing the link to your document is always the default! You need to be cognizant to change before hitting SEND if you're not careful.
large files manipulation using the larger screen space on a TV.
gaming COD Mobile on TV is just SWEEET!!! (even using FireSTICK 4K lol man I have some serious phone using the Logi Anywhere 2S mouse for navigation and targeting foes!

locally stream movies stored on internal storage over WiFi to your Cast capable external monitor or TV ;)

I still do a LOT of this on a weekly basis yet not dialy since I'm back in school for a multi diploma course. I just wish I could cast to my X1 Yoga 6TH Gen 2-in-1 laptop :(

100% buying this when it comes out even though I didn't really get along with the S24 Ultra.

Nothing beats iOS for me in terms of fluidity and polish but I don't think there's any doubt that the S24 Ultra's hardware is top notch. I think the S25 Ultra will knock it out of the park hardware wise.

Are you like me, in that you have an iPhone and the S24 Ultra? My iPhone is my main phone, however I find myself using my S24 Ultra more and more.
I was hugely disappointed in Apple and the iPhone this year, the 16 Pro lineup has hardly improved over my 16 Pro Max. The new "button" seems clunky (when you can just use the on screen photo app).

If Samsung make more improvements and the S25 Ultra is a great upgrade, I will trade in my 24 Ultra and upgrade. Samsung often sweetens the deal with pre-order bonuses as well.

rumors (ICE_UNIVERSE) suggest that the 25u will have the same camera setup as the 24u. Thats really unfortunate, since they are already lagging behind. Was hoping for a good upgrade (especially for moving objects) to switch to samsung.

Motion blur doesn't have anything to do with the sensors though, it's the software. And the sensors are good on S24U.

How can u be so sure? It is definitely problem somewhere between sensor/optics/sw/processing (ive read that samsung got terrible hdr processing therefore the need more light to deliver so longer shutter speed so problems with moving objects - i have no idea it is true or not)

Motion blur have been an issue with Samsung phones as long as I can remember. I'm by no means a photo expert, but like you said it has to do with the processing/software. You can even minimize motion blur by using a modded gcam on S24U, so no it's not like the sensors are so bad they can't handle motion blur.

And yet by comparison EVERY single iPhone I've owned (most likely to current models) suffer terrible lens flare issues+

From iPhone 3 : iPhone 14 Pro including all SE and mini models! Doesn't matter if Plus or Pro every single one has issues! Just take a picture at night ir during the summer days where the light/sun is anywhere close to being in France I'd the subject you're taking.

I have no such issues either way using my S23!

My biggest desire for the S25 lineup is that the base S25 gets a 6.3 inch display, just like the iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro (but hopefully with all day battery life).

This would make me consider switch from my S24+, although lately I've become accustomed to the big size.

As long as samsung don't do anything daft like go back to exynos in the UK, I'll be getting the s25 ultra and trading my s24U against it

It was recently reported that Samsung plan to drop the baseline S phone after the S25 as they believe it’s incapable of competing with the numerous Chinese phones on the market.

Yeah, read that. Would be a big mistake IMO. I don't like Xiaomi, even though they bring better hardware in a smaller size phone, like the Xiaomi 15. Their software is still not good. Tried the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro and software had many bugs and wasn't as pleasing to use at OneUI.

But, maybe the Samsung A56/57 will become better and could be a replacement for the S26.

Where exactly was this 'recently reported' ... exactly where?
on Twitter by IceUniverse?

Seems to be me that executives at Samsung are taking business advice of a social media influencer who's paid to side with you or screw you to the highest paying dollar at any given time. That's beyond ludicrous and asinine by any view of a business executive.

I personally think and hope that the base Galaxy S line is outselling the plus models and by volume even the Ultra models. I hope so. Unless the OnePlus Open or the Fold 6 impress me hands on or via price drop respectively in January .... then I may just buy both the S25 & S25Ultra.
