rumors (ICE_UNIVERSE) suggest that the 25u will have the same camera setup as the 24u. Thats really unfortunate, since they are already lagging behind. Was hoping for a good upgrade (especially for moving objects) to switch to samsung.
They are following apple route only upgrading the ultra wide

The best lineup was S23 series due to Snapdragon worldwide... Will the S25 series be Snapdragon worldwide?

I like it but not sure I'd upgrade from my S24U for it, depends what new stuff it does. 😆
Bought an S24U on Amazon Prime Day (okayish discount). Going to add a second line for work. I'll skip the S25U to wait for one addt'l iteration with the new design. Still have my iP16Pro for personal use, but honestly I've grown very tired of the iPhone design which feels so dated. Samsung has very good features for my work.

Same for me except S24+ that I pre-ordered with $29 Buds Pro 2, 512 GB storage for same price as 256 and $650 trade-in on S23+ (that I paid less than than for, new).

I really like having Work Apps in a separate container, They are easily disabled when I'm on PTO as well!

Knox Secure Folder is awesome

Snapdragon 2 (S23+) and 3 (S24+) have been great in both performance and battery runtime

Security updates are being released efficiently (installed the October one this morning)

I used Mac's on a daily basis and do not miss iPhone integration / eco$ystem at all.

The S25 Ultra is about 3 months away and there have been a ton of leaks
The camera array on the right side looks amazing!

"The phone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that will be announced in the next few days. It will have 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage, according to previous reports. The phone will continue to feature the same 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging as its predecessor."

So moving the camera design from the Fold 6 over to the S25 Ultra. Be investing to see the final design and if anything else will change. The boxy design might make it better to hold in the hand.

There’s a bigger market than just North America you know.

Certainly. But this could suggest - if true (though it probably isn't) - that Samsung's interest in the North American market is slowly declining. They've already discontinued the A5x and A7x models here. Dropping the base S2x model would be a bigger leap than those two, and concerning given how limited our options already are.

my view on all the S25 ultra rumours it seems it's very much built around improving the overall design and feel of the phone. Obviously there will be camera software optimizations but it does seem their focus for S25 ultra is look and overall design and in hand feel.

Software upgrades i think will be the biggest improvements along with a new design so it's easier to hold.

one UI 7 from sounds could be the biggest improvements in years for the software.

Pixel 9 pro XL was more behind the hood upgrades which have been praised. I don't think camera wise there is much difference from pixel 8 pro to 9 pro XL but as a pixel 9 pro XL owner the differences have made some good upgrades and feels a much better phone.

It seems like this is samsung's focus for S25 ultra. Obviously there will be even more al features as well i imagine.

So people i don't think will be buying S25 ultra for the cameras but more what the phone offers as an overall look and design. It's said to have the thinnest bezels on a phone

Based off the introduction of that Snapdragon 8 Elite… the chip could offer a reason to upgrade as well.

8 Elite sounds interesting. I am curious how well that processor will do with regards to heat (will it throttle back quickly?), and with battery life.

One of the biggest reasons I didn't take the plunge on the Pixel 9 is mainly because it is yet another year with a mid level processor in a flagship phone. Not enough of a step forward from my Pixel 8 Pro.

Also curious how Samsung is with trade-in value

Well the article is about Samsung using older screen technology instead of their own newer one.
Yeah. It was just with the article saying the 16 pro max screen may be better than s25 ultra. Even if Samsung use the screen they have on the s24 ultra, I still say it’s better than the 16 pm

Nevermind ross young has confirmed pros are using M14 and non pros are using M12 panels so the iphone is offering better efficiency even if the brightness appears unchanged in most cases.

M14 is supposed to offer a good amount of improved brightness and efficiency.

We know the pixel 9 series has the M14 though as you can tell with how bright it is and how battery life is better

I think samsung's advantage is the anti reflective display so might be why it appears better overall. Samsung how they have built their panels is more popping colours stands out more

That said it's stupid from samsung is using older display compared to others and yet again them cost cutting. We know the snapdragon elite 8 is costing more and this has likely played a big factor but the elite 8 is said to be power hungry so having a display with better efficiency would've been better

Apple use Samsungs displays, unless I’m not mistaken.
Samsung and LG.

There is a long thread in the iPhone section discussing screen brightness, tint, discolor / etc. People are going through the trouble of dumping their phone hardware data, and investigating serial numbers of their display to see what they have.

IMO, many are making a problem out of nothing and likely only noticed because there was a thread about it.

I have no issues with my iPhone 16 Pro, screen is as good as the Samsung in my Pixel 8 Pro.
