But it still exists, some people such as myself prefer Face ID over finger printing.
Same here...I would also like the option to have it unlock my phone and go straight to the home screen.
No having to swipe up to unlock the phone. Then they could make it an option to turn on or off.

Do I like using FaceID on the iPad? Absolutely… but I have no problem with the finger print method on my Galaxy Fold.

I actually think it’s cool to have an under display fingerprint scanner… if Android adopted FaceID technology then there will be a cutout similar to that of the iPhone.

Not sure how it is on the S24U, but as soon as I touch the fingerprint scanner on my Galaxy Fold… it immediately goes to the Home Screen.

The S24U doesn’t have the option to that?

The FPS does that on both models. But what i was talking about was Samsung implementing a Face Unlock similar to Apple's FaceID...except have the option to go straight to the home screen and not have to swipe up like you do on apple devices.

As far as I know, there’s quite a bit of technology behind FaceID… that’s why Apple decided to do a pill shaped cutout and designed the feature Dynamic Island around it.

If Samsung or any other Android manufacturer adopted something similar to Apple… they will have to make changes to their display by adding a pill shaped cutout. And I like the creativity behind Dynamic Island… but I’d personally choose the under display fingerprint technology over adding a pill shaped cutout.

If they make camera better, price hike is ok. Samsung will provide hreat preorder bonuses as always

I would rather the Samsung Tri Fold than the Vision Pro.
Personally I’m not sold on either, foldables don’t seem as durable as normal phones. There’s only so many times you can fold something before it will break in half. That being said I do like the look of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (not the name tho).

As for the Vision Pro, I like the concept but 2 hours battery life and the cost is ridiculously too high for the average consumer.

Be interesting to see Samsung Tri Fold tho, I’m guessing they won’t announce it along side the S25 lineup, probably makes more sense too announce along slide the Fold 7 lineup in August.

Foldables are not as durable as normal phones... and given the nature of it, that will always be a thing. But on the other end of it... it's such an awesome experience using one.

I'd never go back to a normal phone.

You can always attach a external battery pack to get more out of it... reason I never committed to it is it's too similar to an iPad. And the external monitor support for the Mac would mean I'd have to get rid of my monitor.

It's one situation to get the most out of it... I'd have to do too much shuffling as in getting rid of the iPad, monitor and replacing my Galaxy Fold with an iPhone.

To be fair I’ve been using foldables for 5-6 years and never had any issue with mine. I think often it depends on the user. I’m sure some are just unlucky though

So I was with Android from the HTC Hero. I moved to Apple with the original SE (I couldn’t get an HTC M9 for some reason) and apart from a couple if short lived forays back into the Note world I’ve been Apple ever since. However I’ve just switched from a 16 Pro to the S24U and loving it. I’ll probably get the S25U but having cone back to Android I’m now looking at all the other possibilities: Pixel 9 Pro XL; OnePlus; Mate Pro etc. Fairly sure it’ll be the S25U but the Pixel in particular is tempting

Not gonna lie…I like the rounded corners

I don't know, because there's always the S25 and S25+ to get the rounded corners (and I know users won't get the extra perks of having the S25U).

But what makes the S24U special it's unlike the Pixel and iPhone... it's boxy as @Dave245 mention, which you can easily tell difference among the three flagships. Google decided to go all in and copy Apple design... not trying to be critical of them. Because that's what the tech industry do... but sometimes it's nice to stand-out amongst the crowd.

Camera is way superior to the 16 Pro plus I never realised I’d missed the flexibility of Android so much: live widgets for example I can scroll through the FT widget, on Apple it just clicks through to the app; s pen just for jotting notes on the lock screen; my Garmin watch seems to play much more nicely.
