Samsung will only give me $700 for my flip 6. Decided not to order the S25 ultra for now. I thought it was funny when I checked how much it would be for the S25 plus & S25 with the trade in. I get $600 & $500 trade in 😆.

I can’t wait for Jerry rig everything to do a durability test on the s25 ultra. Curious how the thinner new design holds up.

Very happy with the Galaxy buds 3 as well. I've had the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds Plus over the years. Do wish they would give an option to pay extra and upgrade the freebies. Would have happily payed an extra £50 to get the Buds 3 Pro.
Must say I did prefer the original design of the buds compared to the buds 3.

I know many said it wasn't much of an upgrade or much difference but the change in shape feels much different to the S24 Ultra I had. The slimmer bezels too make it feel like a much more compact device considering it has a 6.9" screen

Only had it a few hours but overall I'm really happy with it. One UI 7 is a really nice redesign and Polish

I got an extra $50 USD voucher and scored Buds 3 Pro's for $19 with the S25U order.

After reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to keep using Buds 2 Pro's that were free last year.

Hawking the new ones on eBay which appear to be fetching up to $150 (based on competed item sales)!

I'm pretty impressed with the bud3 pros but I do have the 2 pros as well... I haven't read the reviews, why would I keep the 2 pros over the 3 pro?

Very pleased with the phone after two days. It's smooth and the software feels polished. Pretty impressive considering all available options.

I've missed the S Pen. Use it all the time. Wish there were more colors. Not a fan of the gray pen.

Tom's Hardware summed it up quite well: (https://www.tomsguide.com/audio/headphones/samsung-galaxy-buds-3-pro-vs-samsung-galaxy-buds-2-pro)

"As surprising as it sounds, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are the better overall value than their newer counterpart. Battery life, noise cancellation, and sound are practically on the same level as their successor.

Galaxy Buds 2 Pro controls and design are also more favorable. But, if we’re being honest, it’s the huge price drop that gives the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro a significant edge over their newest sibling.

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are futureproof, making them an ideal purchase for those who own the latest Galaxy phones. ANC and sound do their part to deliver an uninterrupted listening experience. It just seems like more effort was put into the aesthetics and novelty AI features than everything else. And that's why these buds failed to impress us as much as their previous iteration."

ok fine makes sense.. so not worth the upgrade price basically but still marginally better.

I'll sell the 2pros and the free buds3 as well

The biggest thing I noticed so far is that the modem seems noticeably faster than my 16 pro max. For WiFi and cellular. Loading stuff feels near instant whereas iphone has a slight delay.

I thought I would prefer the home bar navigation rather then the home and back button layout but i prefer the buttons. The back button is really nice.

Android is still significantly more janky than iOS though. Kind of stunning to see. Still deciding if I'll return and wait for the X200 Ultra

Notifications are inconsistent. Sometimes they appear as dropdowns sometimes they don't. You can't see timestamps easily.

Even though I've whittled the upgrade from S24+ "out of pocket" expense down into the $400 range without hawking Bud 3 Pro's...

The thought of a $1299.99 (@ discounted "retail" on the website) mobile device inspired me to do even betterrrr :)

Those of you that have received your new 25 Ultra devices, have you tested any of the new AI features? if so how are they compared to the S24 Ultra?

hard that... I haven't done that test but honestly I imagine most of the ai will be on the 24 tbh. Maybe some will be on the cloud rather than on device.

BUT.... just messing with the 25u v 16pm, the 25 is miles ahead. Not even close tbh. I've even started using the hold the power button to call up AI and it's actually come in handy several times today.

The erase an item from a photo is way way better on the samsung.

but yeah, 24 v 25, I dunno, I suspect if the 24 doesn't get all the AI it'll be more a marketing thing than a technical.

(LOVING the s25u though. First year I've not missed the iphone at all)

I'm noticing the inconsistency in push notifications as well. I think it's more an android thing than S25U thing as I experience the same on my Pixel devices and oneplus open. As much as I like this device I feel like in the last several months I've just shifted towards ios for some reason, at least when it comes to non foldable devices. This device is fantastic but as of right now I'm leaning towards a return and hanging onto my S24U

I think I’m going to return it next week and wait for the Vivo X200 Ultra.

The S25 Ultra is a solid phone and I see why so many people love it but ultimately I’m still going to be carrying an iPhone as my primary device. That means whatever second phone I use has to have something significantly better than my iPhone. The X200 camera system beats everything on the market by a large margin. For my taste the S25’s camera either matches or falls short of my iPhone. All the other S25 features are nice to haves but not compelling enough for me.

If I had to carry a single Android phone it would be the S25 Ultra though, it’s the most well rounded in my limited experience.

Another offer in UK to tempt some :)

offer.jpg

I just checked with an old S9 of my youngest that's knackered I can get a S25 Ultra for £825 plus double storage and free buds Pro 3 as you can also use the pre event voucher to get another 100 off on the offer.

Crazy that is down from £1349 to £825 saving of £524 cash plus £159 of Buds free plus £100 of extra storage free

Even if you sold say your S24 privately at the same trade in value of £650 that is a new phone with warranty etc etc for only £175 pounds cash delta

Sell your free buds and its almost a new phone for pennies :)

What about the pixel?

My iPhone 15 Pro Max is my main phone, however as a second device my S24 Ultra has been great.
The AI features look good, however I do wonder how practical they are and how much they are actually used vs marketing.

The issue with AI, (at least for me) is trusting it enough to actually use it professionally. I don’t mean privacy, I think that ship has sailed with all companies now.
I write professionally, there is no way I would trust AI to proofread my work (thats why editors exist 😂).

For me iPhone holds a special place, even if IOS has got stale and boring. But Android is definitely in second place.

I’m going to hold onto my S24 ultra and see what Google do with the Pixel 10, I can see myself buying into their ecosystem.
