Messed around with some sound settings and I think I found a sweet spot. The bass is strong but doesn't destroy the quality.

I have also noticed this. I think it's because Apple's implementation of AAC is better than Google's.

Other earbuds that support better codes sound better on Android in my experience.

Honestly the codec implementation is based on the OEM, outside of Google's Android [services].

Samsung implements AAC very well as all my Apple iTunes/Music that I've downloaded play exactly the same without issue using Samsung Music app on my S23. likely the rest of the Galaxy S and Z line would perform the same with adequate headphones like the Galaxy Buds 2/3 Pro's as their frequency response and volume live up to if not better than the Airpods 2 Pro's I used to own. Ambient is better on the latter of the 3 though.

To be quite honest and real there is really only 2 buds I'm going to be going for this summer [I own the first]
Xiaomi Buds 4.
Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro - Gold & Black which utilizes Qualcomm's Apt X Lossless/Qualcomm Sound & Qualcomm's XPAN WiFi for 4.2Mbps audio bandwidth. Right now ONLY the Xiaomi 15 Pro can work with them. I'm hoping and praying and have continually submitted requests on X and Samsung Messages for them to implement system drivers to update all Qualcomm 8 Gen 2/3 and 8 Elite models to support this.

My issue with Samsung Wallet is that Samsung Pay doesn't work in a lot of apps.

I would like to use SamsungPay, but apps like Chick Fi La and Starbucks, to pay in the app, you need to either have Google Pay or Apple Pay.
That seems to be an issue with both of those apps and what's not been coded into them. Reach out to Developers' contact us link, and make a request.

Well now that I figured out the sound, and looooooove the LockStar update, the only complaint I have about this phone now is the Battery life. I don't know why but I've seen quite the dip recently, barely averaging 6 hours SOT.

Well I got my S25U a few days ago and am pretty much enjoying it so far. Of course there still are the notification delays that I mentioned previously. I tried all the tricks I could find, but nothing fixes it. I think it is just something that needs fixed on the OS level.

But one issue I noticed in Android Auto. The part of the display that shows the signal meter, it is competely wrong. It almost always shows me at 1 bar of service. Then as I am driving it may goto 3 bars, but most of the time is only shows 1 bar. I know my signal is much higher. I check it on my phone and always have great service.

So I guess that it just a bug in Android Auto.

This post made me realize that I haven't looked at signal strength on a phone for years, haha.

Hope you enjoy the phone!

I've found my first true complaint with this device. I guess I put it in my pocket and there was some kind of dirt or something that did a number on the screen. A bunch of tiny scratches all over it. Assume that's just in the anti reflective coating and not true glass scratches. I have a zagg anti reflective protector I'm going to put on. Hopefully that somewhat masks the scratches. I'm real OCD about scratches on my display and was hoping this one would hold up better than my S24U. Its like someone sticking needles in my eyes when the light hits just right and I see those damn scratches 😞

Damn!! That's what I was experiencing on my last couple iPhones. It's the worst. 😞

Is it possible to create a mode or routine to mute specific app notifications with a single click? I am mainly thinking about my Sports app and how I'm recording a game to watch later but don't want to be spoiled. The whole idea of Routines is to simplify things but I can't figure out (or don't know if it's possible) to just silence those notifications with a single click rather than going to each app individually and doing it.

Follow these steps:

Nope. I had to swipe that ugly Dallas Stars loss from my Now Bar this morning. Couldn't stand looking at it anymore.
That's so weird. I've tried everything and can't get it to turn on (Wisconsin is playing right now). All of my settings are correct too.

That's the one I tried. There are some other ones on F-Droid but they seem to lack many features.
This might be of interest to you for a standby clock.
I downloaded the google clock from the play store and set it as a screen saver so it comes on when charging and it seems to be ok. Not very feature rich as the ios one but it does the job for me.

Ya so far I am really enjoying the phone. Still haven't gotten around to setting up the Watch 7. Maybe tonight or tomorrow.

As for the signal meter, well that is just a pet peeve of mine. I guess I just got used to looking at it when I am out to see how signal is.

Really hoping the Sports Scores on the Now Bar begin to work again in time for the tournament and the beginning of MLB season. I do actually think it's a Google issue. A couple of times I checked the score of the Wisconsin/Michigan game, and the score wasn't updated on the Google app.
