MKB is correct though.

I've cancelled my order 4 times now. I really want this phone. I can easily afford this phone. However I am very careful with my money and know that the device is not really ready both from a hardware and software point of view. Too bulky and still too fragile. The thin glass screen looks and feels like a plastic screen no matter how Samsung describes it. Apps that make the use of the folding screen is virtually non existent. Apps that make full use of a standard android tablet screen is already lacking.

Early adopters will have the cool factor but to say it can replace a proper tablet right now is a joke.

I eagerly await the fold 4 or 5.
As soon as the cameras are the same as the other flagships and it has an s pen is when it's ready for me... Dont think it will truly replace a tablet but 2 and 1 on the go will be great going forward

It will replace an Android tablet though as it's the same OS, although I know there are issues with the aspect ratio. For myself it will replace a "dumb" tablet like the ipad or an android tablet quite easily, my main functionality is browsing the web so I'm all set there. For any real work I have to do I would break out my surface pro anyhow, not only for the OS but for the larger screen. The Fold's screen is still too small to do much more than consume content, although I can see getting some work done in a superior fashion such as checking emails, calendar, etc.

Anyway it's not for everyone, hopefully they will iron some stuff out by V4 or 5. Personally I haven't been this excited for a phone since the original Note series.

I really want a fold 2, but I am a clumsy guy and drop my phone a lot.

It seems a bit too delicate for me.
I not so sure the Fold it's any less vulnerable for drops than any other Phone excluding the new Note 20U that has the latest Glass

If anything there maybe the case that flexible glass is more resilient to drops and most do not seem to realize excluding the Note 20's that Gorilla Glass is tough and hard for scratches etc but it's not noticeable better for shattering from drops

Given many of the internal components are no different to any other phone and some parts are extremely strong eg hinge I do not think there is a clear case that it's more vulnerable on drops :)

The main and ultrawide cameras of the Fold 2 are the same cameras as the ones on the Galaxy S20/Note 20. The only different one is the telephoto camera, and that one is still a flagship camera, using the unit from the Galaxy Note 10.

So in what way the Fold 2 cameras are not "the same" as other flagships?

Another no nonsense review. Tells it like it is without any snarky comments, or making stupid points just to try to sound smart. Only has 1K subs, no fancy cameras and show room. It's a mini review, but makes more points than some others do in a full review.

Reviews are saying they aren't the same. The photo quality is better on the note ultra plus the ultra has the 108mp.

The issue is poor zoom. 2x zoom for 2k isn't good enough as far as I'm concerned

Nobody is buying the Fold 2 for the cameras. If cameras are a priority, this isnt the right phone for you. But I understand what you're saying, for $2k it should have the best cameras. However, that may just not be possible right now while maintaining this form factor.

Personally, S20 level cameras are good enough for me and more than usable.

1 How do I know, but sorry to hear that
2 We were taking about drops
3 Latest and better drop proof glass was re Note 20U

If your phone came scratched send it back, why did it not have factory fitted screen protector ?

It's the only downside to me but by next year it's ready for me... Doesn't mean I'm not going to be jealous when yours arrives :)

No pericope lens and no s pen is the only reason I cancelled my pre order. Hopefully next year gets some kind of ip rating

Yeah, I'm with you on those points. And the other big thing is that I just don't know if I really want a foldable. I'm really curious to see if this fad becomes an actual thing that everyone uses or not. I just don't know that if it's my cup of tea. The Note 20 Ultra is already big enough for everything I need.

I would certainly use it as I like bigger displays but with how much usable the main display is i think that will be very useful for when at work or when you get a call of just want to reply to texts. Doubt I would use the main display much at work as I use my phone for the old text etc but would be nice to have

Well, my Buds Live will be here tomorrow and my Watch 3 on Wednesday. This past Saturday I got a shipping label for my Fold 2 through FedEx and it says delivery on Wednesday. However, it hasn't moved from shipping label created so I'm hoping it goes out today and I get it by Wednesday.

Also, is it weird that for the first time I am hoping a phone is disappointing? Lol. I wouldnt be too mad if the phone is underwhelming in which case I send it back and save some cash.

Are developers on board with this aspect ratio? They’d need to jump on asap imo, or else you lose the added screen real estate - the biggest reason to have this thing.

Anything longer than 3 months for your most commonly used Apps to take up the full inner screen, & you may have been better off waiting for Fold 3. That’s the whole promised experience un-utilised for a quarter of the year.

From what I gather, you can use an app called 'Good Lock' to change the aspect ratio for a specific app so that it fills the entire inner screen. This is what people are doing for Instagram on the Fold 1.0.

Unrelated note, the leather case I ordered via Verizon now has an issue because of PayPal for some reason. Instead or re-ordering I'm going to see how I like this device first. I'm also skeptical of adding a case to such a heavy device. Probably will use a D-Brand skin if I find the back glass slippery.

I think the comment made by some is misleading

I can't say I noticed any of my apps over the last year that are not full screen, there must be some odd reason that in a few reviews that showed some popular apps were not going full screen, but I can't say I have ever really noticed any that do not fill the screen

All my little 3rd party utilities go full screen as do other popular apps like Ring etc always have

So I am not sure whats driving this observation on a few social media apps as all others seem fine on my Fold V1

It's not like I have ever had the small Iphone app on an Ipad experience :)

Yea, the reviewers are quick are quick to show instagram, but instagram is notoriously underdeveloped for larger displays, even on the iPad.

The fact that an Instagram iPad app still does not exist is truly absurd. God do I hate Facebook.

As long as I can tweak the aspect ratio and get it to fit properly on the Fold I'm fine with it.
