There's one thing about Apple that Samsung hasn't fully embraced. The ability to give customers an assortment of options for cases. Perhaps, this Fold is niche... that it hasn't attracted much attention for 3rd party cases. But finding a case is going to be troublesome.
I think more so with this phone.. If you look at phones like the Note series there are so many choices...Great selections...

So how do those with the fold 2 use this device when it's open? Portrait or landscape?

Isnt that kind of a wash since its essentially a square when unfolded?

One thing I remember hating when I had the device was that the direction I normally rotate the device in landscape always meant I was blocking the speaker. Its a small issue but incredibly annoying.

Speakers at the top makes more sense so generally they aren't covered. Think it feels more comfortable in landscape personally.

I use it a combination of it both. However, more so portrait than anything. I'm still trying to determine how I plan on setting everything up... in regards to customization. I do agree it feels more comfortable at landscape, but its just the idea of picking it up in portrait leads me to use it in that fashion.

With my iPad Pro, I tend to pick it up in landscape... it's much more of a habit.

Ships in 30 days... smh. And the cases Samsung makes doesn’t provide much protection from the edges of the front/outer display.

Nothing on UK site sadly

Managed to get a leather one from ebay ordered for £10. Couldn't justify another £79 for the Samsung one

Holy freakin crap I'm so overwhelmed (in a positive way) by the customization options on this phone, especially coming from an iphone. I'm really just diving into Good Lock and it's nuts how many things you can customize. Not just cosmetic stuff mind you, but deep deep stuff that is incredibly functional. The entire multi screen paradigm is just amazing as well. I still haven't resolved the tiny text with desktop mode but am hoping I can find a per app font resizer or something.

I'm coming from the Note10+... you should also check out Sound Stage, if you haven't already. I'm just loving the larger screen compared to the Note... 120hz display too. And with Good Lock.. I mainly focus QuickStar, to keep my status bar as minalistic as possible.

Fold 2 is so good I'm not sure I could use a normal phone going forward.. I'm even debating if to sell my note.. Don't think I need two phones

The one thing I miss from my iPhone's spotlight is that it automatically starts you where you can type to find an app. On the Fold you have to actually click inside the text box to start typing. Nothing major, just annoying, especially when using one handed. Anyone find a solution or setting to this?

Do voice commands solve this?

Not sure I can go so far as to sell my Note 20 Ultra. I really do love this device and have used it most of the last 10 days but used my N20 Ultra while on the lake this weekend and it was so hard to take my sim out. 3 more days to decide if I'm going to keep the Fold and its driving me crazy. First world problems, I know lol

Yeah it's a tough one, I want to keep both as I love both.

You mean through Bixby or Google Assistant? Hmm never tried it, but I'm typically not in a spot where I really want to be talking out loud to my phone. Sucks because I used Spotlight so much, I have no patience for hunting through dozens of apps.

Am I crazy to be considering this bad boy?!?!

My surface pro at work just crapped out on me and I had to use my personal SP6 to replace it, so I'm in the market for a full size tablet. This one looks crazy, but also crazy expensive. Someone talk me out of it!!

PS It has stylus support, so it's not that far fetched to think the Fold 3 may have stylus support.

I wonder what’s keeping you from staying on the Fold.. same with @The Game 161. Granted, I only have a Note10+... however its on the trading block already.

I love S-Pen functionality for the Note, but this Fold is on a whole different level.

Mostly it comes down to the Note just being a better all around device for my use cases. If I go to the lake, the fold is a no go. Same with hunting. I don't dare let my kids handle it (this one can be resolved if I could ever get a decent case). Not all apps are optimized for a device of this type and it creates issues with the way they are displayed (Facebook and Insta stories for example). Many games such as COD mobile don't render correctly. I do use the Spen semi frequently and the camera is better on the Note 20 Ultra although the Fold's is no slouch. Laying in bed at night, using the Note with one hand is possible while using the Fold I have to perform some pretty intense finger gymnastics.

All that said, it's a really fun device to use. I love having the bigger screen for media consumption, picture viewing, browsing the web, emails, reading work docs, etc. but the Note is great in all these areas as well.

I may end up just keeping both even though I know that is a really dumb decision. I'd probably have to skip the iPhone 12 Pro Max this year but everything I see doesn't lead me to believe there will be anything ground breaking compared to the 11 Pro Max.

I think I'm going to sell mine on. It's a bit tricky as on one hand I really like it but for day to day useage it just isn't there yet for me. As I've said before, outside screen to narrow, inside screen the keyboards don't work well enough for fast typing.

If Google sorted a split keyboard out it might be better.

I also don't really like Samsung cameras at all. The post processing coming from a 1ii that gives you the most accurate, true to life colours you could hope for, is just garish at times. It's almost like detail is lost because everything is just overblown. It looks like every photo has gone through a vibrant filter about 5 times and I'm just not a lover of it at all.

Still having app issues (Spotify mainly) which I've seen others complaining about on Reddit and as much as I love reading on this thing, and browsing the web and YT etc, I just don't like it as a phone.

It almost there though. But I'm clamouring for my Xperia so the SIM will be going back in that tonight.

Bloody fun ride though!
