6 hours 46 screen on time today.
Feels like I've used my phone loads today, so pretty pleased with that.
Is it still on the trading block... or have you had a change of heart?

The Xperia takes a photo exactly how it looks to the eye. Samsung does some weird post processing which some love, but I just hate. I need my pics to look good for my business and Samsung's snappers sadly can't cut it.
Still very much about to be sold on.
It's funny though, as some days I use it differently to others and that affects my feelings on it.
Seems odd. I wonder is there any settings that could tone down the processing or probably limit the saturation of the photo.

This camera just isn't good enough for a phone this price at retail IMO.
Camera wise it's basically as good as the S20. Just with less zoomYeah, after doing some digging. The camera is no better than my Note10+ (when it comes down to specs)... and that’s quite interesting. It seems at this point your buying the phone for the folding display and 120hz. Maybe, I have to start rethinking if it’s all worth it.
I really enjoy the Note line.. I get the S-Pen and expandable storage, which the Fold lacks.
I think for most people the cameras are good and the cameras are very good just not top of the line. Note ultra has better camera features which I'm sure will come to fold soon enough
However with how good cameras are these days I don't think camera should be any deal breaker
What features are you referring to?
I‘m just looking at it terms of specs, of course... It’s very minimal to the eye, but with the money we spending. It matters. Don‘t get me wrong, the software/hardware aspect the Fold has when it comes to enhancing the camera experience... from being able to use it in various positions gives it an advantage.
.
I think people do get too caught up with camera quality when the difference between the top phones are no different. A lot of the time in reviews people are biased and if they did a blind test the results could likely be different.
Sorry, but those two pictures I took speak for themselves. I didn't go hunting for differences, I literally took the picture and saw it looked like someone had applied a yellow filter to my photo.
I then took with the other phone in my pocket and got that result.
It's nothing to do with getting caught up with camera quality. You keep saying there's no difference in the top phones and that simply isn't true. If it was, people wouldn't still be buying pixels for their cameras and settling for inferior settings elsewhere Vs a Samsung device. It does matter and it should matter.
Also, these blind tests you refer to are also a bit of a reach. A lot of the time the shots being taken are of landscapes, outdoor still shots or dogs that are sat nicely. Of course all photos are going to come out well in those scenarios. They need taking with a massive pinch of salt.
You only have to look at the pixel sales to realise that clearly having the best camera isn’t that important.
What’s important is having a very good camera that can handle many situations which most flagship cameras do. The fold 2 is still a very good camera. Is it the best? No i wouldn’t say so but it does the job for most people.
The blind tests are normally a range of different type of photos from landscapes, to people to portraits to kids e.t.c.
The one area where pixel really shines is portraits photos of people. The one area where samsung struggles and pixel and iphone shines is selfies where the photos aren’t real to life for me often enough.
For example pixel shines in portrait/selfies
iPhone shines in video/photos of pets
Samsung shines in bright crisp landscapes and zoom
So all 3 have different strengths but most people will not see much of a difference between the brands
I don't think anyone is doubting that these phones offer different camera features. That's obvious. You want to be able to take a photo at 100 x and get something that resembles a blurred Mona Lisa, then get yourself a Samsung S20 Ultra.
My point was about you saying there's no difference between the top phones cameras these days when I think there absolutely is. Talking about the pixel sales also doesn't add any weight to it either.
People still buy pixels because of their camera. I do. But by your logic of them all being the same I'd just stick to a Samsung device and not bother with anything else because Samsung offer me more flexibility. But that isn't how it works for a lot of buyers.
You may not think there's much in it, and that's fine as you can settle for whatever phone takes your fancy then. Whilst some others may share that view I personally don't agree at all.
I don’t think most people will choose a phone based off just camera.
People buy phones for the complete package and of course to have the correct pricing.
Sorry but if this was to sing the virtue of the Xepria this may of not been your best exampleStill very much about to be sold on.
It's funny though, as some days I use it differently to others and that affects my feelings on it.
Today I have been off work and have spent the day pretty much just chilling, watching some YT, Netflix (which I never watch on a smartphone normally), and using the phone open virtually every time I've picked it up. And it's been an absolute joy.
But the last two days whilst I've been working, I've been on work calls trying to reply to messages on the outside screen and being repeatedly annoyed at how narrow and cramped it is. Opening it every time to just send a message comfortably is frustrating.
I've been reading on it every night with the Kindle app and I love it. There's no other device I can do these things on (phome, I mean) and I enjoy using it greatly for certain tasks. But I just don't really love the camera and that's important to me.
I tried to take a pic of something for my baking business today on the phone and hated the result. The top pic is Fold 2, bottom is Xperia 1 ii. Neither have filters, straight from the camera app. I hate this yellow sepia tinge on the fold.

I see you point on the tinge and it is subjective as you note
However it is quite clear even to the inexperience eye the Xperia has post processed away the score marks on the board, the translucency and texture of the baking paper and wood grain plus the focus is very shallow. Even the top cake slice cut lines look smudged by comparison
As I said maybe you focused on the colour and missed the other points in this example
Yeah get that totally, going from fold to a normal phone as my daily would be very tough.I certainly don't. I buy phones based off the experience it provides me. That's why I preferred the iPhone, until it eventually gotten stale. Although, iOS 14 is refreshing... it doesn't move the needle for me.
And this statement is why the Z Fold 2 is in such a odd position. Because for me... as a complete package it fits the bill. Incredible hardware... inner screen is superb, plenty of software features. But pricing is the problem. I was able to do a trade in to make it more manageable.
But the more I use Fold.. going to any other phone is going to be weird.
i may sell my note ultra as it is too similar to my fold....if i was to have a 2nd phone it would need to be a different OS so i may get the cheaper iphone...while android is a lot better in many areas iOS is still damn good for certain things.

this may sound stupid but i have a lot of twitter notifications for people i follow so for sport news/games and live updates i use twitter a lot on my apple devices where i get unlimited notifications so for that alone i would use daily on an iphone.
will see what the apple event brings....bigger question is can an Apple Watch and galaxy watch be justified? Likely not.
Just saw the Sammobile article about increased trade in prices for the UK. £740 for my note 10 would bring the phone down to £1k.
Went to the website to order but the increased trade in prices disappeared. (Possibly a pricing error or limited time offer?)
This phone keeps teasing me.
