You seem much better at getting what you want out of the software! I think this may solve my issue if I can get larger fonts on the front screen.

Can you figure out a way with Bixby routines to change lockscreen wallpaper based on either time, or better yet dusk/dawn? My lockscreen wallpaper is very bright and kills my eyes if I turn my phone on in the middle of the night.

Edit: Hmm can't see to get screen zoom to turn on when closing the phone, it kicks up an error that screen zoom could not be turned on because the phone was closed or easy mode was on.

The one thing I miss from my iPhone's spotlight is that it automatically starts you where you can type to find an app. On the Fold you have to actually click inside the text box to start typing. Nothing major, just annoying, especially when using one handed. Anyone find a solution or setting to this?
You can do a Bixby routine so that you auto start in finder and KB is enabled, but not sure if that is a step too far for you :)

I'm by no means a Bixby expert don't use it enough...i do see you can trigger time then do lower brightness... I like dark wallpapers lol that works best haha

I will look around further after work... Zoom looks to be wonky when I tried it and why I only did font

Am I crazy to be considering this bad boy?!?!

My surface pro at work just crapped out on me and I had to use my personal SP6 to replace it, so I'm in the market for a full size tablet. This one looks crazy, but also crazy expensive. Someone talk me out of it!!

PS It has stylus support, so it's not that far fetched to think the Fold 3 may have stylus support.

It's pretty damn cool looking for sure but answer this question. What part of it being able to fold makes it a more useful tool vs. something like the Surface Pro? Does the smaller footprint when folding make a difference in a device like this? (It's a brick when closed, IMO)

The screen may not be delicate but it certainly can't be as durable as what you'd get on a Surface Pro and I believe it's a lower resolution. Its kickstand doesn't allow the wide range of viewing angles found on the Surface Pro. The accompanying keyboard accessory is not a full size keyboard. And unless I missed something, it doesn't look like you can configure it with more than 8 GB of RAM. Hell, the Fold 2 has 12 GB, doesn't it?

The advantages of something like the Galaxy Z Fold 2 seem much more apparent--being able to more easily carry a small tablet form factor and a phone, all in one. A large tablet, folding or not, is still going to be carried in some sort of bag and this just seems to introduce lots of compromises will no obvious differentiating benefits, for a lot more money.

Just my $0.02 based on initial impressions when I also checked it out earlier today.

Hmmmm.....I have bixby disabled on my phone, maybe I should set it up.

Can you make it use one homescreen when opened and another when closed?

Well that's exactly why I'm not going to buy it. The reason the Fold is so nice is that you can stick it into a pocket, but with the X1 I'm still stuck carrying a tablet or a bag. The dream would be for a quad fold device thin enough to fit into a pocket, queue 10 years from now I suppose.

Holy freakin crap I'm so overwhelmed (in a positive way) by the customization options on this phone, especially coming from an iphone. I'm really just diving into Good Lock and it's nuts how many things you can customize. Not just cosmetic stuff mind you, but deep deep stuff that is incredibly functional. The entire multi screen paradigm is just amazing as well. I still haven't resolved the tiny text with desktop mode but am hoping I can find a per app font resizer or something.

That is one of the things I miss about Android..the customization. I currently have an iPhone but I appreciate and have used Android in the past. Most iPhone folks that talk crap about Android have never used it.

10 years from now. We will be more focus on wearable technology... from AR with glasses to smartwatches as virtual assistance lead the way.

I think that debate has been over for awhile now. Android and iOS have their perspective places... neither platform is better than the other. It's all about what fits the user.

So close. I'm not seeing a way to start inside the text box or to even pop up the keyboard.
I only experimented with one routine for you :- When "Screen is open" run application "finder" :)

But you could find another event to trigger it or even use the power button to launch finder or even put the finder icon (now that you have one) on the lower part of screen for one handed quick access :)

Speaking of routines.. I can run two separate launchers open and closed device...

Nova open
Lawnchair closed

But of course if I hit home it will ask me select default launcher.. Any ideas?

I've been using Bixby Routines, Goodlock and One Hand Operation+ for a while now. And these three apps give you all the custom functionality stock Android just can't match right now. This is what sets Samsung apart from the other OEM's, including Google. Samsung has done amazing work with making One UI cleaner, by adding the option for advance features separately through Goodlock and One Hand Operation+. So the user that don't want to be overwhelmed with endless menus in settings, won't be.

Awesome, thanks! So, I just did the same (though I'm using "Shade" instead of lawnchair because it loads faster).

To get around that "pick your launcher", I set Nova as my default, then added a gesture, if I press (or swipe) the home button while on the home screen it will open Shade. So when closed, it goes to shade, and when I swipe home I just have to remember to do it twice.

Also added "switch to landscape mode when open" routine. It kinda masks the load time of switching launchers when opened. Of course now I cant gets apps to continue from the outer display into the inner.

Edit: Just downloaded one handed plus and added a long swipe from the right to open Shade. Seems to working better, just have to remember to long swipe right to go home when closed.
