Speaking of deals, this one just dropped in my Inbox from Samsung: Get $150 off instantly plus free Galaxy Buds2 ($149.99 value) and $900 enhanced trade-in credit.

Buy Galaxy Z Fold3 5G 256GB (Unlocked) Phones | Samsung US
Sweet deal... I would be paying $650 if I was to trade in my Fold 2, but I'm content with waiting on the Fold 4.

Anyone else using this? It's so nice. It's one of the coolest setups I've seen.

Umm.. I use a combination of the Keychron keyboard and Keys to Go keyboard by Logitech. For my stand.. I wanted something that's more portable and crafty. Pretty much with all stands.. I can move it to any angle I want, but I like how low it sits.

To those on OneUI 4.0 beta… what’s the experience thus far? From the reports there’s been various bugs, but Samsung seems to be pointing the finger at Google. So, it looks like Samsung won’t hold up to the December deadline for Galaxy Fold 3 & Flip 3.

Just dropping in to say my husband finally got his green Z Fold 3 after obsessing about it since it was released. I got him one for Christmas. Unfortunately the return period ended today so I hope it’s all okay. (I was frustrated to discover Samsung doesn’t have an extended holiday return period.)

He was thrilled. I thought he had guessed I got him one but he genuinely was shocked and excited.

Some here will be surprised but I’ve ordered the fold 3 512GB. Should arrive within a week. It will basically be my mini tablet on the go and when at home. It’s not something I will take out to the shops or walks etc but will put it in my tech bag to work as I plan to get the s22 ultra so I won’t be carrying around 3 phones in my pocket that’s for sure

My tech bag which is a new bag for Christmas that fits 16 inch laptop. Least my bag can fit all my work food in as well

All my chargers
Samsung stand and MagSafe phone stand
Air pods pro
Galaxy buds
Air pods max
12.9 iPad Pro
Fold 3
Apple wallet
Bag full of Apple Watch straps

A Fold 3 for $900 with Buds 2 without a trade in is an insane deal. Especially when it'll probably detxh around 1k trade in for the Fold 4. Anyone planning on getting the Fold 4 might want to get in on this deal just for the savings.

It’s been entertaining following your rollercoaster of smartphone ownership (well, on the Android side)… lol.

I picked up tech bag for Christmas. Included gadgets will be:

12.9 iPP
Fold 2
AirPod Max
JBL Club Pro+ Buds (I enjoy Google Assistant integration)
Samsung T7
iPad stand
Fold stand
Keys 2 Go Keyboard
Mini Keyboard for Galaxy Fold
Necessary cables and straps for Galaxy Watch

The main issue about android phones there are too many to tempt me lol luckily apple only bring out one phone a year to get me to upgrade.

The offer for the fold 3 does include the galaxy watch 4 but this was after I ordered the offer is now in place. Granted I don’t think I would use the galaxy watch being an Apple Watch user but may give it to my dad if I can get this added

For what it's worth, the Galaxy Watch 4 is the first Android watch I would actually recommend to someone. It's excellent.

I gotta say, the Fold 3 deal at Best Buy has me tempted. Especially since the trade in value for the Fold 3 when buying a Fold 4 will probably be close to $900 anyway.

Hmmm.
And what was the reason you returned the Fold 3 again?

No doubt, I wouldn't mind buying that Oppo Find N... I really like that wider outer display. And as much as Surface Duo 2 doesn't get much buzz, I do like the concept... just the execution needs to be addressed (especially with the OS). I wish Microsoft would have waited for that mobile version of Windows was ready then add PlayStore for apps (similar to what they are doing with Surface Neo).

But as soon as I opened that Fold 2 box, it had me... and no shade to those who upgraded, I didn't see a reason to upgrade to the Fold 3. Didn't like they kept the narrow display, didn't like no silo for the S-Pen. But according to rumors it looks like the Fold 4 will have a silo for the S-Pen.

Several reasons, most of which was the price. I just felt like for what I was paying, I was getting a decent tablet and a poor phone. I didnt feel like the way I used the phone was getting the most out of it. My other disappointments were the front screen being too narrow, worried about inner display durability, and all cases being trash.

Now none of that has changed other than the price. The biggest change for me is my want to try something different, whether that be iOS or a foldable. The Pixel 6 Pro, while good, is still riddled with bugs and to be honest it doesnt feel as fun as Pixels used to feel. Maybe thats just me and getting bored with being on a regular candybar android device.

Do you still use the Fold 3 as your primary or is it a secondary/rotation device?

Yeah the oppo looks good and the outer screen is what the fold should he really but I think the software is where the oppo needs inepcoements. Just doesn’t seem optimised enough. The screen size also isn’t what I would want but hardware is very good overall

I do love having S pen support. I don’t like the cases for the fold though. I can get the fold case with a pen as part of the deal so I think I will use that for when taking it out in my bag or just use without a case at home

Managed to re order my fold 3 to get the Watch 4. Will certainly try it out but it won’t replace my Apple Watch for key reasons. That said I could try using both maybe dunno…

The size of the Oppo is perfect. I would make it a little taller so when unfolded and in landscape is more setup for the typical video aspect ratio, but that outer display is excellent. The one reall big knock I have on the Fold 3 is the outer display. The goal for Samsung should be to make the outside of the phone feel as much like a typical candybar smartphone as possible while still unfolding to a tablet. Right now, the outer display is just passable at best.

As for software, I'm really interested to see what Android 12L brings. It could be a gamechanger when it comes to finally getting apps to develop for foldable devices.

I do agree the size is very good and ideal for most who want to use that outer display more.

12L sounds promising and there’s no doubt that area will improve as foldables as we know are being made more and more and becoming more common.

It’s my primary phone.

I’ve done the two phone setup… and it’s not for me. I had the whole Apple ecosystem of devices.. Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. But I prefer the versatility that Android/Samsung provides… therefore both the iPhone and Apple Watch had to go.

And I enjoy having an iPad… it servers as a secondary device while being something I rely on, I could replace it with an iPhone… but I like the screen real estate the iPad provides.

And I agree… it gets boring after awhile with the regular candybar phone. That’s why I gravitate toward the Fold, there’s so much potential with it. Lately I been using MX Master 3 with it and it’s nice being able to navigate through the OS with it.

Ive never understood the two phone setup unless one phone was strictly for work. Carrying two phones at all times would just be a hassle.

I agree on having a tablet. I traded my old iPad Pro for a Galaxy Tab S7+ earlier this year and I enjoy it. Its definitely not as polished as an iPad but the screen is MUCH better and I primarily use it for media while working so its fine for me. I would much rather have a phone+tablet combo than two phones.

Have you received the One UI 4 update yet for the Fold 3? Interested to see what UI improvements it makes.
