Man I am just disappointed at the trade in values. I think if they started the trade-ins at $1000 for the Fold 2 and maybe $800 for the S21 Ultra, it would really make it enticing when paired with the promo deals.
I just put together a cart to see the cost and with an S21 Ultra and two Samsung watches for trade in and the cost was still like $1300 after tax with the Watch 4 and case for the Fold. Thats still really, really pricey.

I went ahead and put in a preorder. For some reason it didn’t allow me to sign in properly so I only got a 100 credit. I ordered the Fold3 Black 512Gb and traded in my note 20 ultra 5g and iPad Pro. I got the flip cover/pen and an extra case for accessories. Total came to $1073.

I went in and made a mock order too and I don't even think their instant credit for accessories is working. Still can't even sign into my Samsung account. Man their website was not prepared for pre-orders. Probably a good sign to just stay away from this one, lol. But yeah, if I wanted to trade in my 12 Pro, I'd still be paying way more than 1,000. Too pricey.
Trading in a iPad Pro AND Note 20 Ultra and its still over $1k? That's insane.

$100 credit went to upgrading from 256gb to 512gb. It's in small print next to the storage selection. If you choose 256gb to get the full $200. That's why 256gb and 512gb price doesn't change. That had me baffled for a minute.
Didn't specify which iPad Pro model, but according to their sig... 400 for a 2nd generation iPad Pro seems about right. Because I'm guessing the Note 20 Ultra is going for 600?
Pre order offers are disappointing. Was hoping for better trade in value plus a big discount or free Galaxy Watch 4 active.
Will keep my Fold 2 and wait for the Fold 4. Hopefully the camera of the Fold 4 will be the same or better than the S22 Ultra rather than inferior. The fold 3 is a let down.

I wouldn’t consider the 4 a let down, it’s a testament of how good the Fold 2 is. And as I mention to @mjschabow, the Fold series camera will never be comparable to the S series. In order for Samsung to put S-type camera tech in the Fold.. the price will be ridiculous.
My point is… Samsung has to find compromises in order to price the Fold reasonable.
Was able to order through the Samsung app (while signed in). I got $900 trade in value on my Fold 2 through the app, instead of $800 shown on the website.
Ordered the Green 256gb version. Also ordered the Galaxy Watch 4 classic black 46mm and the Case with Spen, which the $200 instant credit went towards. Total for everything after taxes came out to $1,159.06.

That‘s dope. Surprised you didn’t go with the 512gb… I’m guessing storage wasn’t an issue with you on the Fold 2?
My storage on my Fold 2 which is also 256gb, is only at 88.23Gb used. I use less storage nowadays, mainly cause I don't load my entire music library on my phones anymore. Plus the 523gb only came in black, that green was too tempting.
Peep the changes Samsung did with settings.. I like seeing the two column view layout.
I have feeling majority of the upgrades to the Fold 3 will be Note users. Given the new addition of the S-Pen to the Fold and the absent of a new Note this year.
