Well, there is an option to leave it in your cart for a few hours… supposedly afterwards you get an email code of 5% or 10%.

Samsung are usually pretty good about customer retention. I bet if you went into a chat and said you forgot to add a promo code to an order, they would give you a discount so you dont cancel.

Maaaan... I’m just excited for Samsung and the folks who entering the foldable market (specifically Fold users). Seen this image posted on the Verge… I’m glad Samsung has scaled down the amount of phones they produced this year.

So, someone on Reddit discovered a loophole that may be a game changer as far as this pre-order goes...

So, one of the bundles Samsung is offering is the Fold 3, Watch 4 Classic, Buds 2, and Spen case for $500 off. But the catch is the max trade in value then becomes like $450 for the Fold 2 and goes down from there. So not a great deal. HOWEVER. If instead of selecting that bundle, you add the items in that bundle separately at the choose accessories screeen, then when you go to checkout it will automatically say it "found a better deal" and convert you to that bundle while still keeping the same trade in value.

With this trick, I was able to get the following for $1150 (with trade in of S21 Ultra and old Active watch): Fold 3 256GB, Watch 4 Classic 46mm, Buds 2, Spen case with spen. Thats a pretty stellar deal.

I'm still not sure I will keep the Fold 3, in which case this will all have to go back, but this deal is good enough for me to at least try it out.

Yeah, I seen that thread. Definitely a good deal, imo. That’s a perfect Samsung setup… your hesitation was on the price, looks good to me.

If I’m not mistaken you had the Fold 2 and were disappointed by the app optimization along with durability. It appears as though Samsung has addressed those issues with the Fold 3.

When I tried the Fold 2 last year, I really liked the hardware. My only hang-ups from a hardware standpoint were the low refresh front screen, durability, and lack of decent cases. Seems like all of those have been improved this year.

My big issues were app quality and software optimization. A lot of the apps I use the most were just stretched out versions that looked worse than on a normal candybar phone. But it seems like Samsung has taken a big step forward on that front. It helps that Google have a foldable in the works which means they'll be pushing forward on app optimization as well.

I'll give it a go. My biggest hesitation is that I still have my eyes on the Pixel 6 Pro.

Pre ordered my Fold 3, but I won't be using it as my primary line as for work reason I have to go back to an iPhone. I'll take the Fold 3 along with me when I need a "tablet", it will be much more portable than an ipad mini.

Nice! With my Fold 2 and GW3 trade in, all the discounts and such I was able to get a Fold 3 256gb, a GW4 classic 46mm LTE, and the s-pen for a bit under $900. I chatted with them because I wanted to change my color, they said I could only cancel and reorder but offered me an extra $60 to not cancel, so that puts me closer to $850. I will most likely sell the GW4 for $200ish, so that nets me closer to $650. I also retained the $50 samsung credit for the GW4 which I can use later on.

Ice universe has been going off on Twitter about the UDC on the fold 3 comparing it unfavourably to Chinese branded smartphone UDCs.

Yeah, camera shots I've seen are not good. But reviewers have also said he does make the hole a lot less noticeable in everyday use.

Said it before but I would have rather they just left it off and stuck with the front and back cameras.

2021 is far from over. S21 FE is coming. The only thing missing is the Note series. This is just a consolidation, back to the pre Fold lineup. Before the Fold, Samsung has Galaxy S and Note as their flagship. Now, they have the S and Z (replacing the Note).

Then there are the plethora Galaxy A phones, along with F and M... Samsung is still making a LOT of models.

So what's the whole idea or point of the foldable phones?
You get a tablet experience that folds down into a candy bar style, pocketable phone.
I think the Fold specifically, needs to be used to appreciate it.

When I had my Fold 2, I never touched my Chromebook which I was using daily for YT, web browsing, etc. Just didn’t feel the need when I had a phone and a tablet in one.

The Flip, different altogether. It’s a tall “Max” sized phone (unfolded) that snaps down into a very pocketable clamshell. The ‘point’ of it? Well, for me I just like the fact that it turns a big slab phone into a pocketable square. It brings life back to the old flip phone days (glory days, IMO) and shows that the mobile phone world is evolving. We went through years of incremental upgrades, or just improvement in camera, screen and battery tech and I feel it was all becoming a bit stale year on year.

These foldables are pushing the industry in the right direction and I am still quite astounded at how well Samsung have done at it considering how new the tech still is.

A, F, and M lines are not flagships.

Has the FE been confirmed? I thought they were unsure because of the chip shortage and were also considering launching it in limited markets.
