Odd, but when I went through the Shop Samsung app I got an extra $100 on my trade-in deal and it didnt remove my student discount like it was previously. Still a higher price than I would like so I'll probably cancel, but total for 256 GB with Watch 4 and case was right at $1k after trading in S21 Ultra and old Active watch.

Very underwhelmed by the Z Fold 3. I see why they did it from a business perspective, economies of scale, etc., but this isn't the ultra device that would convince me to upgrade. Plus my black and gold hinge with carbon fiber dbrand looks way better.

I don't care about the S-Pen. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't wait. But I'm so looking forward to next year's... I really think they're going to wow us like they did with the Z Fold 2.

I'm more impressed by the Z Flip 3, but I don't really want one. My Fold 2 has been the best piece of tech I've purchased since the Mac Pro.

Everyone who is new to the Fold crew, and those who are upgrading, enjoy your new devices!

I’m so tempted by this phone, I’m bored of my iPhone and fancy something different. Could get the fold for £1260 (10% discount plus £200 for any old android phone)

Go for it! It's been a game changer for me. If you're a power user, this phone low-key gives you superpowers compared to rectangle phones. For mission-critical operations, communications, and file management, this phone rivals a laptop computer (with the exception of specialty software including graphics, 3D, audio etc.)

If your thinking about moving away from the iPhone... you'll have to start looking at all the devices that's associated with the iPhone. Primarily, the Apple Watch. Before moving to Android... that was my only reservation, I did enjoy having that Apple Watch.

Yup! I'm enjoying the Fold 2 and don't see the need for an upgrade.. awaiting OneUI 3.1.1

What does that mean? Is that similar to the iPhone upgrade program?

Yeah basically you can upgrade to the fold each year. Like with the S phones. Wasn’t available last year

Its up now. The trade ins suck IMO. You get $800 for the Fold 2. The S21 Ultra only get $650.

Well Samsung, I'm out. Trade ins arent good enough to make it worth a try. Bring on the Pixel 6 Pro.
Yeah that’s not great but with previous trade ins I paid only about $400 for my S21 Ultra. I’m not interested in the Fold but was pricing out the Flip 3 out of curiosity. It’s cool they’d give me $350 for my Pixel 3 XL for the Flip 3 but this is not the year I want to spend the money for a Flip. It would mean I can’t get the 13 mini or the Pixel 6 Pro because we’ve been replacing appliances and have a lot of expenses on home repairs and boring stuff like that. I’m not parting with my Ultra.

It’s pretty obvious they’re not pricing the trades at fair market value but just trying to get us to a discounted price they’re comfortable selling at. Because my Pixel 3XL is not worth $350 to anybody and they’re basically offering me a subsidy taking it at that price to get me to bite. But your Ultra is worth way more than $400! However offering you more than that is something their bean counters deemed not worth it to them.

Waiting for the Galaxy Fold Fan Edition. Like this but with screen and phone built in.

Peep the changes Samsung did with settings.. I like seeing the two column view layout.

Man that UDC is really noticeable. I thought the whole point of a camera being under the display is that you wouldn’t see it at all.

I agree. As @Awesomesince86 mention, there’s no purpose for it. Heck, the iPhone has a notch in 2021… and as much as users criticize it. The iPhone hasn’t missed a beat... Still record number of sales each quarter since the notch was introduced back in 2017.

As far as I know having a hole punch cut-out isn’t that huge of a deal… next up, they will do a UDC on the front display. When the objective should be upgrading the MP in the front-facing cameras for better picture/video quality.

The hole punch looks more appealing after seeing this LOL.

That’s where I think Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ gets carried away with having to push out this tech before it’s ready.

I think if the UDC was completely invisible but was blurry or it was a hole punch and great camera, either would be acceptable. But to have it be noticeable and a major downgrade in quality is just a bad tradeoff.

Considering there are already 4 other cameras on the phone that could be used, I’d have personally preferred they just omit a camera on that screen altogether—much cleaner look vs. a still noticeable screen blemish hiding a ****** camera.

Agreed. I said the same thing a few posts back. They should just leave it off.

Tbh, I don't see the point in fold2 users upgrading, unless you really want to use it in the bath.

I can see the flip3 selling like hotcakes though.
