Its obvious apple has sued Samsung left right and centre and placed itself on an almighty pedestal however now apple is following /mimicking their completion its great to have a little fun at their expense. Samsung knows this and knows it will get a bit of publicity.

I owned a note the first one in fact and loved it in fact my colleague still has his and it's running the latest KitKat. That's certainly value for money. He wouldn't switch nor would I because there are too many features I would loose switching from android to iOS.

You fail to realize ONE huge thing: 2014 is a hardware year and 2015 is a software year.

for Apple....but again, welcome to what 2012?
Give Apple time to supposedly "copy" Android. It isn't Apple's fault, Android has added everything under the sun to their OS.

Apple is the one copying, clearly.

How about you hold both devices in your hand before making that statement. The 6+ is barely taller than the N4, on top of that it's a hell of a lot thinner and lighter.

I don't need to hold them, I own a Note3 and can tell you the biggest gripe I have about the phone is the hieght, not weight. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the differences in height will impact things more than thickness or weight, both of which are far lower in difference and will all but be noticeable. Just wait, I predict the big iPhone gets more comments about height than weight. Jean pockets everywhere will say so.

They always make ads, it's nothing new. I fail to see it having anything to do with Samsung thinking they are losing note customers.

I fail to see why a billion videos are needed. Why aren't they talking about HTC or LG in videos? Why is it ALWAYS Apple?

Like I said: Android has added every feature under the sun and at this point, Apple comes off as copying because they always wait to add features. Hell, it took Apple a year just for basic copy and paste. Admit it: Apple is catching up to Android features wise. I am going to be curious as to what Android L brings this year. Hopefully it's something new we've never seen before.

An Android user complaining about size? I never thought I would see that day. I just recently had the OnePlus One and the size didn't bother me one bit and I wear skinny jeans. If I'm not mistaken, the OPO is bigger than the N4.

Because LG and HTC aren't genuine threats. At least, not yet. Nor have they had the acrimonious relationship with those companies that they've had with Apple. Apple and Samsung are the big fish in the pond and clearly will focus their attention on each other.

Well according to The Game the iPhone 6 plus isn't going to eat into the Note 4 sales. I disagreed and said it would.

Correction: Samsung will focus it's attention on Apple. I haven't seen Apple making a billion videos about Samsung. :) If so, can you show me some recent ones? I'll wait.

You quoted my post so I'm assuming you read it. Please point out exactly where I said Apple will make commercials directed at Samsung products. You can't, because I didn't--let me share the quote once again:

Apple and Samsung are the big fish in the pond and clearly will focus their attention on each other.

Samsung has chosen to base much of their marketing campaign on comparisons with Apple products. Apple, in turn and decided to focus most of their litigation at Samsung.

Go ahead and try to disprove that one. I'll wait...

Yes, I read it. No, you didn't say Apple would do that. I never said you did. Apple had its reasons to do so. It's funny how we haven't heard much about Apple suing companies, nowadays. If anything Steve liked doing that, not Tim.

I don't know where you got the "Korean Junk" comment from and throwing out the word racist is a bit strange at least in regards to my comment. I think patriotism is more appropriate. Just like in the Olympics, folks typically are rooting for their country and shouldn't be deemed a racist for it.

I have seen the term bandied about. Maybe it's because we don't really have anything in the UK lol However as I stated I buy based on what it offers me not where it was made or the nationality of the company.

This is where the water is murky. Apple and most of its fans has complained for years that all their competitors copy them. They have waged war in court over it.
Apple is no longer leading in the smartphone space but following others now.
Larger screens....even though they have come out and made fun of the larger screens. Steve even said the 3.5 screen was the perfect size. They have slowing added features that Android had before them. But also remember Apple has said Android is stolen product. Only to then incorporate features Android has that IOS did not have.

Because HTC or LG aren't who owns the lions share of the market they are trying to message too. Too much in common with those products too.

No need to, man. It's already cutting into their sales. Lol. Apple sold nine million iPhone 5S in three days, while the Note 3 sold five million in one month (10 million in two months).

We both know that Apple is probably going to double 9 million in three days this year. I'll be surprised if the Note sales double.

Steve and Tim are two different people. Steve had an outspoken personality and would say the first thing that comes to his head. We can't fault Apple for things that were said years ago. To be honest: if Steve were still CEO, we probably wouldn't have big screen iPhones and Apple would still be suing everyone. It's quite obvious that Tim doesn't like to sue and is way more opened to new things than Steve.

Android isn't just adding features for the sake of it. They have added and continue to add very useful "smart"phone features. I agree and glad to see you admit, Apple is the one catching up and in reality, yes, copying. They aren't waiting, it's a part of a their slow-roll marketing. Smart really....why add useful features that cost money when market share is growing and staying high? Feed them the steak one small bite at a time. Smart and beneficial for them, but not necessarily the customers who in reality should be their first priority but clearly are not.

I'm not "complaining"; I am just pointing out a topic to show fairness. Overall though, if I wanted smaller, I would have gone S4/S5'ish in size. I didn't because I like the added features the Note series brings. I don't see where Apple is adding any real value to iPhone users by going big. I wouldn't even call the new iP6+ a phablet for any other reason than it's big. Feature wise, it's lame compared to a real phablet like the Note 3.

And this is where Apple thinks differently. Apple isn't going to give you everything you want in one update. As you said, it's part of their slow marketing. It's actually very clever. Samsung is so lost right now and doesn't have a clear focus as to what to do next because they've packed every feature they can think of in their device.

Why do you think they come out with tons of phone and smartphones? Even most Samsung fans are left clueless has to why they do it. It's not very smart.

By the way: I like the direction Google is going with Stock Android. Google is Apple's long term problem, not Samsung.

Already said that iPhone will sell millions and millions. That won't change. No matter how good the phone is people will always buy iPhone and they will always sell more. Just don't see note users seeing the appeal on the iPhone

Not sure. Maybe they tired of Samsung gimmicks, TouchWiz and the way updates are handle.

Not sure what counts as gimmicks as for the most part I like Alot use the features. I also don't think updates are something to worry about it.

Is touchwiz the greatest? No but never been a big fan of iOS either. Too restrictive for many people's liking.

Question is what Samsung bring out are only considered gimmicks until apple bring out those same features.

TouchWiz is getting better....see MRUs video in the G5 thread. It still needs improvement but it is betting better at resource utilization. There is a new thread about the very fact today.....

clever but not in the best interest of the customers they pretend to serve. is that something we the public should support? perhaps apple fans like being "controlled". Irony is strong everywhere.

Samsung is so lost right now and doesn't have a clear focus as to what to do next because they've packed every feature they can think of in their device.

Samsung isn't lost, they released incremental upgrades and are still far ahead of Apple.

Why do you think they come out with tons of phone and smartphones? Even most Samsung fans are left clueless has to why they do it. It's not very smart.

Samsung has a larger product offering as they target vertical markets better and even have special offerings for various carriers. They offer Android and Windows phones and even cater to flip phone lovers. Apple on the other hand sticks with what they want and care less about the consumers specific needs.

Their core lineup of phones is pretty much matched by Apple. I'm sure I missed a few but you get the picture.

Where Samsung beats the heck out of Apple though is it's a matter of a simple download to replace the launcher. Not so with Apple. Thus if you're not a huge fan of how iOS does something, you're S-O-L and have to live with it. Again, not very customer friendly really. However, that trade off is what Apple customers accept for what they call a pretty solid product offering that "just works" This is where the irony and humor lie in Samsung's commercials.

No thanks....I'll take my phone my way in a way that I know works best for me the consumer.

I purchase based on the best bang for my buck. I think some of Apple products are high quality and enhance my life with rich functionality. The fact that it is an American company is a bonus.

I believe Android products are lesser quality and not worth saving a few bucks on. An example would be Google Android. Google isn't really good at finishing and polishing up products. They seem more focused on features and services. This leads to an OS that is not well thought out, less intuitive, but feature rich. Once you throw in Samsung, you now have another company not known for innovation, design, or software piling on top of Android's flaws. In the end you have lower quality product IMHO because the 2 companies aren't synced and focused on making the entire experience fantastic. They just want to get the product out to market fast.

This all could be applied to purchasing a car as well. Do you go for the cheaper, low quality, vehicle or do you spend a little more for a better quality version?
