Me too. I was puzzled when people seemed genuinely offended by the fake leather stitching. I think it's great!

I love the backing on my N3. I'm amazed at how much like leather they made it feel, it's kind of eerie. It's very resilient, no case and not a mark on it.

I also find it immensely amusing when metal backed phone owners run right out and put a plastic case on their phones, negating both the thinness and attractiveness. In all fairness it's not only iPhone owners but some of the metal backed android models.

I opt for bumpers myself. I have the power support flat bumper on it right now and it blends in beautifully. I may rock my iPhone 6 naked this time around though. Thinking about getting the leather Apple case.

I don't think he knows which topic he wants to debate.

I hope it's not life expectancy....that is unless he plans on saying a Note series AMOLED Display is going to be run for 8hrs per day for more than 5yrs. as that's the life expectancy of the organic materials used in Samsungs phones OLED TV's on the market today which use the same organic materials.

Can't wait to see what a 5yr old Note is going to run like performance wise in 2018...but I can bet that there won't be many being used.

Bumpers are uglier IMO with less protection. But if you go naked you will show those ugly antenna lines. It's a dilemma.

Let him debate accuracy of the display too. I'm sure he'd argue my findings are a biased, so I'll leave these two links here for reading pleasure. Again, Retina is falling far behind many of the newer displays out there in terms of performance and accuracy.

These guys are the leader in Calibration and Testing too.

http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_Note3_ShootOut_1.htm
http://www.displaymate.com/Tablet_ShootOut_4.htm

So again, I'll emphasize that while I use iPads for my portfolio and presentations to clients when mobile, they do require quite a bit of calibration and are still now where near as accurate and easy to calibrate as Samsung's Super AMOLED displays.

When I take a picture of something that is white, I want it to stay white. That's why I don't get your point. Colors are wrong. And you might "prefer" AMOLED displays, but you can say that overall they are better, because if you value brightness they aren't.

Again, I left the above for your reading pleasure as I know you won't likely value the calibration results I'd be happy to post up of my Note 3 vs the latest generation iPad Air. I think you'll find quite a few of your statements are inaccurate. I especially LOL'd on the brightness comment. I look forward to your arguing the findings of a leader in the display an calibration industry.

Expect a lot of Galaxy Note 4's to get dusty this year now that people can get what is essentially a tablet version of iOS on the 6+.

Samsung is not doing as well this year as in previous years, and that trend will get worse once the iPhone 6/6+ drops, and then you have the latest and greatest from HTC, LG, and Sony to deal with.

Has Samsung lost more customers to Apple or to other Android mfc's who have now caught up?

What will prove interesting is what happens to iPad Mini's now that a larger Apple Phone is available. Wasn't it just this past Q1 of 2014 that they reported iPad sales were flat?

My $2 is on the fact that Apple will hurt themselves in net new Mini Tablet sales and that most of the iP6's will be upgrades not net-new phones on the market.

The Cellular version might take a hit. But I doubt the Wifi only version will.

Not sure. If it were me, I'd forgo an iPad Mini, even wifi only. Again, just my opinion of course. The only reason I carry an iPad Air LTE is because they are company property and free for me to use. 1-2 of our necessary apps are iPad only too. Otherwise, I use my Note 3 for everything else.

Those commercials were just plain funny! :)

And so are these ones. Apple were the ones who accused the rest of the smartphone industry of copying. And now look. Apple no longer innovate, they let everybody else do it for them and then cherry pick the best features. All of that 'we do it right' sort of thinking Apple wants everyone to have doesn't wash with me since most times they haven't done it any different to the competitor at all. And they've been doing this since iOS 5.

Give them credit for size....they put a 5.5" screen on a phone that's bigger than the Galaxy Note! I think their new campaign is "size matters" :D

Its funny about the whole size thing, I work with some very rabib Apple fans. We get into some heated discussions around Apple and Android. I like both OSes and have had way more Android phones ( M8, G5, N5, N3, OPO, G3 Moto X just to name a few) so I am pretty diverse in my preference. But I remind them about how much they make fun of co workers in the past that have the Note 3. These same people are ordering the 6+ so I can't wait to remind them of there not too long ago opinions on larger phones.

No. The others are still selling nothing. They lost sales in China to Chinese OEMS who make devices with flagship specs for a fraction of the price and even at the low end because they are willing to go to the bargain basement prices that Samsung are not willing to go to.

You know it won't matter though...they'll likely come up with some reason why it wasn't worth having a larger displayed phone until Apple offered it. Also won't matter that it's noticeable longer than any Note.

Extreme Apple fans will also make an excuse why it wasn't important until now.

I'm not oblivious to the differences and won't make excuses, other than most of my choosing an iPhone is based on software preference.

I know you're right.....but I want to see them waffle of their past stance on large phones. Especially in front of the water cooler crowd who remembers their rants.

About the screen, I wasn't saying the the one used on the 5s is way better. I'm just saying at at the most, they are extremely close, making the poster that mentioned otherwise clearly wrong.

And I'm talking about phones being sold today. although the note 4 is already behind right now. My posts said that Android devices have better hardware.

They don't. Period. End of discussion.

More updates for you from the industry experts on the Super AMOLED screen used on the NOTE 4.

Read it and learn a bit on how incorrect your statements are and have been.

In case you don't want to read the whole thing, I think their summary wraps it up BEST. Pun intended.

Based on our extensive Lab tests and measurements, the Galaxy Note 4 is the Best performing Smartphone display that we have ever tested. It matches or breaks new records in Smartphone display performance for: Highest Absolute Color Accuracy, Highest Screen Resolution, Infinite Contrast Ratio, Highest Peak Brightness, Highest Contrast Rating in Ambient Light, and the smallest Brightness Variation with Viewing Angle.

Its Color Management capability provides multiple Color Gamuts – a major advantage that is not currently provided by any of the other leading Smartphones. The Galaxy Note 4 delivers uniformly consistent all around Top Tier display performance: it is the first Smartphone display to ever get all Green (Very Good to Excellent) Ratings in all test and measurement categories (except one Yellow for a Brightness Variation with Average Picture Level) since we started the Display Technology Shoot-Out article Series in 2006, an impressive achievement for a display. The Galaxy Note 4 has again raised the bar for top display performance up by another notch.

They didn't test the iPhone 6 and 6+. No one is using a note 4 right now. My statement still stands.

Here's the thing. Granted the iPhone 6 Plus looks really nice and has "some" additional features over the iPhone 6 BUT IMHO I don't see many (if at all any) Note 3/4 users switching to the iPhone 6 Plus because the lack of the spen & multitasking functions that the Note line has.

Note users buy the Note for the S-pen and multi functionality first, screen size 2nd in my opinion.

I for one did not as the screen size was the deciding factor and never used the other 2 I mentioned above.

I will think the 6+ will get some Note users that do not use the Spen or multiwindow functions but that may be a very small population.

I am one of those people though.

I agree. I'd be tempted by the iPhone 6 Plus if they added more functionality to get use out of the larger screen.

So only you get to put the Note 4 into discussions
but not others? Hypocritical much?

How about to your point here, the iP6 & 6+ aren't being used right now are they?

Besides, what you actually said was

^^^ and that is clearly not the case. Even between the Note 3 and 5s, they aren't even close. But nice try on your part and Apples.

LOL!!

When you care to reply to your other inaccuracies that I'm still waiting for you to reply to, you might want to insure you don't make such a mistake again.

My GF is thinking of getting the iP6+ over the iP6 due to size and hoping it (battery) will last longer due to it's bigger size.
