Just a bit 😂.

Eventually we will be rid of OLED, but probably some years until that point. Sadly.

Just wiped the G9N phone with red tint along the right side. TT and NS enabled, compared side by side with the G9P phone there is no unevenness in that one. Just very slight (white) non-uniformity toward top 1/3 of screen, really need to try to look for it. Glad I waited to send the G9P back, turns out this one will be as good as I can expect.
Yeah but G9P is an inferior Samsung panel 😂🤣

My G9P display is perfect. Best OLED I’ve seen on an iPhone since the iPhone 12 Pro. Mine is perfectly uniform and bright as ever. I’m really hoping I’ll go without damaging this iPhone.
It was a joke between me and the poster. We often ridicule and banter about the panel serials and what their grades levels are according the truth king Google search hahah

Just walked back from Apple store where I returned the phone. I compared mine (G9P keeper) with a couple of display 16PM, one of them was uniform but had a very strong green shift at an angle, the other one was comparable to mine with no major shift. Then again as you know everything is perfect under the bright lights at Apple 😂.

Yeah. Those demo units are amazing. No wonder some people steal them, I was almost once tempted to swap mine out with a demo unit 🤣

I think I asked an associate to do this several years ago (at some point after iPhone X)😂. Of course I was denied. I recall stating I'd pay full price, Apple has nothing to lose and can just put out another demo unit, what's the problem here. It's the same thing as buying display models of TVs, monitors, laptops, etc. You can get some crazy deals this way as well.

I think one of us should have our device on full brightness 24/7 for a week and see if it changes anything. I think it’ll cure the glue and remove any uniformity issues if any exist. Another myth 🤣🤣

A bit of off-topic, but does anyone of you tried running Sysdiagnose on Apple Watch and getting the serial for the screen? I'm curious what my S8 and S10 are using. (It's either LG or JDI for the S8)

I was watching a video comparison of 15 Pro Max vs 16 Pro Max and you can see the subpar display of the 16 Pro Max here with the blue shift on tilt, whereas the 15 Pro Max has a perfect display here.

Received my 16 Pro and the screen has a reddish tint compared to my old standard 14. Would you say this is normal or worth returning?

I would say normal. It’s not perfect but it’s much better than worse case. If it’s not side-by-side I don’t think it would be noticeable.

One thing people might not know is that "reference white" for things like TV and Movies is 6500 Kelvin. So it's a warmer white that say a white sheet of paper. Apple displays are usually pretty close with accuracy when measured, and while there is going to be panel variance, I prefer mine to be closer to the broadcasts standard than too cool. Just what my eyes are used to looking for.

Guess I’m just wondering if it’s good enough for a pro range model. Shouldn’t really have any issues with the screen at that price point. Seems to be too many display issues with the 16 pro models this year

From the pictures I can see slight uniformity on both phones. The 16 is a bit warmer. If you look at it without the other one next to it, so you aren't biased btw its white balance, how do you feel about it? If it doesn't both er you that way I'd say it's fine. If it is something you notice constantly is real use, then you should exchange.

I’ve always preferred the reddish ones over the greenish ones.
Top of the 16 Pro seems to have the reddish tint relative to the bottom - does that bother you?
its sometimes noticeable when reading text and scrolling. Some parts of the screen have a red tint whilst other parts are blue/normal. Can see it on white backgrounds more. Thinking of sending it back

Unacceptable! It should be property calibrated from the factory. Return it immediately. Had some similar experience in the past where 50 boxes of smart were opened and only 2 phones out of 50 had perfectly calibrated screen.

This is how it looks generally when there is a white background. Like a reddish/pink hue. My eyes have adjusted to it but when comparing it to another device it’s quite noticeable. Apple will replace it, but very frustrating that Apple won’t send out a replacement phone until I’ve sent the faulty one back and they’ve received it.

Today I went with a friend to the Apple Store and he got a 16 Pro Max Natural Titanium and it had a terrible display, top half red tint, bottom half green hue. I encouraged him to exchange it right there and then, he exchanged it for a 16 Pro Max white titanium and he lucked out with an absolutely perfect display. Crazy how the lottery continues, but he's happy he exchanged it cause it was a terrible display on the first one.
