Well, I ended up going to the Apple Store and buying a 16 Pro Max one last time and of course, busted display with crazy blue shift. So crazy that this is the new normal for Apple this year. The store employee noticed the blue shift too and even suggested the return. Sticking with my great 16 Pro. The lottery is so bad this year. I’m done trying.

That stinks, sorry. Was worth a try but probably a good idea to just stick with your 16 Pro which is good.

I have a Samsung panel and it is a heap of sh*t. It has the top half green tinge, the overall warmth is yellow, the only good thing about it that I noticed is contrast is better than the in store display unit I tested against as was brightness but the green tint on the top half of the display is crazy annoying arg I regret buying this phone.

G9N here, 4 swaps. Pro max. Still not perfect, but I’m not going for another round. It’s a good panel. I think there’s a slight reddish tint in certain lighting conditions (in the dark, with True Tone and night shift set to 50%), but I don’t always notice it, so maybe it’s just my eyes that are already messed up 😅”

No shift.

Pictures takes with TT on and night shift at 50 and 100%

In my xperience, Max models have always been much more prone to having non-uniform screens compared to the Pro models.

Looks as good as one can hope for this go-around!

went to the apple store today, out of 4 iphones 16 pro/max, 1 pro max was ok, and pro and one max were mediocre (blue tint when tilted but similar to standard 16 and pluses) and one pro was almost broken. What's worse it was on a stand just next to the good max, and where max was ok when tilting, pro even after just a small tilt changed color to green and it was not a small change at all, the bottom of the screen like got all green.
I will porbably order a por max on Monday but as the guy at Apple store said, if you want to get a good screen, you should order online and exchange couple of times (as crazy as it sounds considering a 1k device)
PS. I think that most of the people buyin an iphone are so into Apple awesomnes that even if their screen turns green, they just close theri eyes or something.

Most people are not picky like us. We are just nerds in here. I changed my desktop monitor (1440p) few years ago just for 1 dead sub green pixel. I'm always extremely anxious when I'm getting new device with screen. Even when I got my S10, I directly grab the magnifying glass to inspect the screen.

Yeah, I'm into graphics so I know I'm probably a bit picky, but was to shy to take some pics, but must say the bad display was crazy bad, like you could easily go to nearest samsung, mi, or whatever cheap android manufacturer and the screen would be much better than on that iphone pro, it was really crazy bad, small tilt like 5deg max and screen turns dark green, not a small tint, like the bottom of the screen turns into. a frog.. Even 15 pro there were much much better.
PS. ANd I;m jsut talking about a msot obvious fault bc all the iphones had a diffrent white balance anyways.

Let’s be brutally honest. The panels have to be pretty bad for anything to show up in photos right ?

It’s all very well and I agree with most of what you say. However this issue is also present with $1400 Samsung flagships. It’s an “OLED thing “. Some panels are worst than others, but rarely are any perfect “. My 14PM was pretty uniform. But in my eyes showed a slight pink crushed all over. But hey it was at least uniform 🤣

Yea not to mention Samsung is way overhyped. In my experience Samsung has not been a role model for quality products. A $5,000 TV pretty much always has at least 1 dead pixel for e.g. trying to get a Samsung TV without a dead pixel is very difficult.
