This is backlight related issue. My mom's Tolino has similar issue. You can see the leds on the bottom of the e-ink screen. The grain is more complex topic. E-ink displays are usually "suffering" from this, due to the tech itself.
Thanks for the explanation.👍🏼Oh, it’s just my Casetify case, haha.
I just had a look at my screen again, and there’s no magenta tint in person, thankfully! But I do see why you gathered as such from the photos I posted earlier – I think it was probably just bad lighting when I took those photos.
Here’s another one with better lighting:

I would have been satisfied with either of those screens. I don’t notice any uneven uniformity, such as the top appearing more yellow than the bottom, which is an issue I’m seeing with mine.So………..I sent my initial unit back for blue blur camera issues in low light and as I had my existing and new units together I compared the screens having seen this thread……..see images:
My original unit (rhs) clear has a strong green cast when viewed from above in portrait that I had noticed and thought was normal, now I see there are way more consistent screens.
The new phone has much better viewing angles with no noticeable colour shif.
The blue splotches low light camera issue still persists though.
New unit was made in India, old unit china.
Both 16 Pro.
So which is screen is which on the photos when they are on taken on top of each other ?So………..I sent my initial unit back for blue blur camera issues in low light and as I had my existing and new units together I compared the screens having seen this thread……..see images:

The new unit has no off-axis from above green shift so for me is a definite improvement.I would have been satisfied with either of those screens. I don’t notice any uneven uniformity, such as the top appearing more yellow than the bottom, which is an issue I’m seeing with mine.
Left is new unit without green shift. Don’t know the manufacturer and don’t care really, it’s a better panel. So which is screen is which on the photos when they are on taken on top of each other ?
I see what you're talking about re: the yellow. I'm sure the photo doesn't completely do it justice, but I do see it. You can always request an express exchange, compare, and keep the better one?View attachment 2446190 View attachment 2446191 View attachment 2446189 Here are some photos I took of my iPhone 16 Pro Max. I picked it up on launch day and have noticed a slight yellow tint toward the middle and top of the screen compared to the bottom. Even though my return window has passed, I’m considering requesting an express exchange. Interestingly, my partner says he doesn’t notice the difference, but to me, it’s definitely there. What’s odd is that sometimes I forget it’s even an issue until I focus on it again. I remember going through three iPhone 14s before finally finding one with a screen I was happy with, and I’m not sure I have the patience to repeat that process this time around.
The new phone looks perfect, congrats. Looks very similar to mine. I also have the blue streaks in low light; every 16 PM I've tried has the issue. Hopefully it is software. I never use that extreme of settings and won't encounter it.So………..I sent my initial unit back for blue blur camera issues in low light and as I had my existing and new units together I compared the screens having seen this thread……..see images:

Personal issue of mine. I’m hyper sensitive to magenta tint .I see what you're talking about re: the yellow. I'm sure the photo doesn't completely do it justice, but I do see it. You can always request an express exchange, compare, and keep the better one?

It's highly dependent on ambient light though. The red waves on my photo are from the screen protector. It's probably the most uniform screen I've had on a Max iPhone.Personal issue of mine. I’m hyper sensitive to magenta tint .
The required question - Samsung or LG and what s/n?So………..I sent my initial unit back for blue blur camera issues in low light and as I had my existing and new units together I compared the screens having seen this thread……..see images:

Serial number unfortunately tells you nothing on newer devices, I don’t know the screen manufacturer. The required question - Samsung or LG and what s/n?
It’s a lottery unfortunately, you may have to go through a few units to get a consistent screen as there are far less from near the centre of the wafer. I went through 3 to get a decent M4 11”.I just got the iPad 13 with the M4 chip today and noticed that the left side of the screen has a slightly yellowish tint compared to the right side. I went back to exchange it, but the new one has the same issue. What’s going on with the screen quality at apple?

Yeah, it does. We talk screen s/n, not phone. It's just for the record.Serial number unfortunately tells you nothing on newer devices, I don’t know the screen manufacturer.
How do you get the screen s/n?Yeah, it does. We talk screen s/n, not phone. It's just for the record.
Yeah, no offence but I don’t have a pc or mac for 3uTools so can’t really be bothered.3uTools or from the phone itself - Sysdiagnose, but it's more complicated. You have to download the report, than dig into files. I mean, if you don't feel looking into it - it's fine, but I'm curios (and the rest probably)
Actually, at this point I’m just going to keep it. As with the Pro vs Pro Max the smaller screen is more likely to be even.
Good luck finding a winner.

Thanks for the info though anyway. 😎
Now I definitely can‘t be bothered 😂
LG or Samsung? 🤣 Congrats!Decided to buy a 16 Pro Max yesterday cause the battery of the 16 Pro has been mediocre at best. I lucked out on the first try. Perfect screen in this 16 Pro Max. Phew. 😅
