As I said earlier, this is all FUD and nonsense, just stop. I have side by side two 16PM, the one on the left in the gold case and plugged in is my wifeā€™s Samsung screen. The phone on the right in the black case is my LG screen. They are identical for all intents and purposes. I have a desk lamp on, to the right of the phones, but in real life they are identical looking. What am I doing with my life šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.

every single year thereā€™s a thread like this saying the screen is dimmer etc. Personally when I compare my 16PM to my 13 PM the 16 is clearly brighter and the screen is looking just as good or even better than my 13.
Not for me. My 13, and 14 pm are brighter than 16 PM. And 16 pm is much yellow tint.

After 30min of testing brightness on 15Plus and 16PM, I think it is a different scale range. For my eyes, under 50% the 16 is less brighter.
So, I set up brightness on both phones trought Siri, for more precision. True Tone off, Auto-Brightness off. Photos were taken on iPhone X.

The range is absolutely different but thatā€™s not an issue. I have measured my 15pro max and 16 pro max same settings with a lux meter and the 16 is a little less bright.

Well said, Keys words ā€œless scale range ā€œ you mentioned. I also posted photos indicating this earlier. I find anything under 40% on the brightness slider will result in a dimmer output compared to same levels on previous iPhones.

The 15 Pro goes down to 2-4 nits at the low end, while the 16 Pro goes down to 1 nit. Let's say the brightness slider allows for fine control between 1 to 2,000 nits, does such a small difference at the low end account for a noticeably dimmer output at <40%?

I compared a 15 Pro Max vs 16 Pro Max in store 3 separate times with 3 different phones - auto brightness off, full brightness at 100%, dark mode/night shift/true tone off. The 16 PM was clearly quite a bit dimmer than the 15 PM in each scenario, and I encourage those who think this is a concern to compare both models side by side with the same settings - see it for yourself with your own eyes.

I have the same issue, youā€™re not alone.

Ignore the embarrassing sheep jumping to apples defence, this is a real issue.

While there maybe people who have this issue it doesnā€™t make those of us who donā€™t sheep. Itā€™s obviously not expected behavior as my iPhone 15 and 16 have the same level of brightness as I already posted.

When max brightness os on phone screen turns very yellow even with true tone off, any1 else?
What you can do is setting, accessibility, display & text size. Color filter, color tint and put this setting in as shown in the picture. It helps me quite alot to achieve more natural whites. Also true tone off always.

I compared one last time both my 16 PM and 13 PM side by side in 75%, 85% and full brightness and each time it's very obvious that my 16 PM screen is brighter. Can't compare with a newer phone but for me the screen is just great. Is it make me a sheep? Sorry for those who seems to have issues, but it clearly don't affect all models it seems. I'm in Canada so I have the Canadian model with the SIM tray if it can help.

Hi. I am just curious: can you specify the screen's serial numbers for both the 15PM and the dimmer 16PM? (e.g G9N, G9P etc.).

There are already other threads about this. It could be a settings issue. One guy didnā€™t realize he had a privacy screen protector on his 16PM. There are defective screens out there, chalk it up to that and just return it / exchange.

G9P, G9N, P6G, Z1K, JFCā€¦.it does not matter. The G9P vs G9N though is my favorite myth, based on one random post from some site years ago, people actually believe it as fact. Iā€™ve owned G9P and G9N in prior iPhones, there were some terrible G9N screens despite being marked as ā€œbetter chance of quality screenā€ by that random guy on that random site.

Same FUD this year with Samsung screens vs LG in the 16PM. I have both side by side and they are identical.

If your screen sucks or is yellow, it is just a bad screen, return it. Manufacturer doesnā€™t matter.
