Just tried. Both are G9N. What do you think about the right panel? @sdante
For me it at first looked like left one was a bit different color balance reminding me of G9P but actually it is just a bit dimmer than the right one. I think the one on the right is ok, I'd take that happily.

BTW, I just yesterday had opportunity to check 3 different 15 PM's in my local shop and I finally found one demo model with G9P, the other 2 were G9N. Only 2 of the phones were side by side but luckily it was G9N and G9P. The difference between the two was huge but seemed that G9N was about perfect panel (probably middle cut) with great uniformity (nothing obviously wrong even TT on and NS at 100%). But G9P was awful, it was like upper half reddish with right part more than the left and lower half bluish. Also much dimmer. Other G9N was in different location in that shop but I checked it too and its G9N was not uniform, it was more red on the top half and cooler on the bottom. Qualitywise somewhere between other G9P and G9N.

It’s not a QC issue though. That is the level of acceptable quality that Apple set. There are too many reports of these uneven screens to call them defective. 95% are like that and no regular user ever notices. If you want an overly perfect screen you can continue the lottery, but you are not expected to win easily
I think so too. After seeing even shop demo models having screens with bad uniformity, it is unlikely.
And I still remember well my panel lottery with 12 Pro, I had 6 screens in a row with bad uniformity and 7th one was good.

Maybe there is simply not enough production capacity in factories making these screens to get only perfect screens? And there are plenty of other brands needing huge amount of panels too. Interesting is that from what I have seen android phones myself, I never seen issue with the screens like what I have had with my iPhones but I guess in that area competition is so bad they must compete with things like that.

If you’ve been able to notice the uneven screen under the shop light they must have been terrible panels 😥

BTW: how did you check the panel serial no? I use 3utools, is there a quicker way to check directly on the phone?

Anyway, since the 13 series I noticed that the 6.7 models are definitely more prone to have a defective / uneven screen the the regular models.

Mine doesn't have a screen problem as hardware issue, it seems software wise is an issue with True Tone(too yellowish), without True Tone it's perfect(a bit too white than what I'm used to), colors are way better then my previous 13 Pro Max.
A picture to see how much better 15 is compared to previous one( 13 left, 15 right)View attachment 2278239
Hardware issue on the 13 pro… green tint looks really bad

You can do it directly by the phone. Just run sysdiagnose and read the results in the phone, no apps needed. Takes like 60 seconds in demo models as they have pretty basic setup.

Yeah, I was surprised myself too but the difference was huge.

The one with an iPhone with a G9N32 screen has triumphed.

Most of them are G9N33 and those are the mediocre ones. I can say this since I have seen and tried more than 10 different iPhones.

pics taken with an iPhone 12: NS (Max strength) and TT on.

Note: the model on the right has the protective film installed.

even this year I’ve been through some swaps. I decided to keep the one on the right (mainly because I like more the color, natural titanium). The one on the left (space black) has a pink blotch in the upper right corner, the other one, uhm, can’t tell.

In the everyday use (day/nugth, indoor) you honestly can’t notice anything.

Just checked.
It would be a coincidence but: left unit is G9N33, right unit is G9N32

How can you search inside the stacks file? There are tons of lines 😮‍💨

Anyone else have a GVC panel? Not sure I’m misreading the sysdiadnostic but my panel type starts with GVC. All I see referenced here are G9x panels?

Three digits after G9N is year and week identifier. So 32 is 2023 week twentysomething. You need one more digit to tell the exact manufacturing week.

Mine is G9P328.
If I recall our other G9N was also 328.

Sounds like GVC is LG panel so you likely read it correctly (use google search for rewa blog GVC). I haven’t seen that one but it is likely about as rare as G9P in 15PM. Maybe G9N is main supplier? I guess it is usually good one but in my case I was unlucky and even my G9P was maybe slightly better than the G9N we have here too. It is hard to say because they look so different in some comparison.

Local files of your phone.
But what should you do from this screen? saving to file the file is empty!

The panel on my 15 pro max is a G9N33, it does have an even screen but suffers with colour shift, so slightly off angle the screen looks nice and crisp but looking at it straight on it changes tint. My existing 14 pro max does not have this colour shift issue. So I may just keep my 14 pro max for now.

i do love the weight on the 15 pro max thought, very noticeable.

Is it a good one?
G9N33 needs one more digit to be useful since that only tell it is made 2023 week thirty-something. The missing third digit tell the exact week. But even then it is not really meaning anything about quality because it depend on which part of the big glass your panel is cut. Probably more meaninful is G** part.
