Apple lost in Japan and Korea (Korean judge said that both companies used others patents). It was clear that Apple, which is based in the US, would win in US court over Korean based company - Samsung. Anyway, Apple hasn't won yet, they need to go through courts of appeals, which can take years.

It doesn't take a genius to read at the bottom of that ad... Says Samsung mobile USA. It's an ad based on USA and yes, they have been declared a shameless copycat in the USA.

Well, Android handsets outsell the iPhone by a huge margin, and Android has welel over 50% of the marketshare.

The majority of consumers have spoken, they picked Android.

The iPhone 5 has not come out yet. Those consumers have picked the Android phones over the iPhone 4S, which does not have LTE or those other hardware features.

First portable apple product I ever owned was a 3rd gen iPod. The battery crapped out on me within 10 months of high usage.

Apple has *always* been notorious for being terribly bad in this department and I would never want another product of theirs where I can't remove and switch the battery at will.

I've got a MyTouch 4G Android phone thats about 2 years old and plan on using it for much longer but all it needs is a new battery. I can get a cheap one for 10 bucks and without having to tear the thing apart just to get to its innards.

I'm surprised you even asked that question.

Good point, but for whatever the reason, whenever I brought my iDevices (like the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, iPod Nano, etc) I never had to pay the full price for battery replacement. They all did it for free, since it was few days before the one year warranty ended.

Just like the ridiculous 'retina' marketing term by apple.

I don't see what's so ridiculous about "retina" for "Our eye retinas cannot see the pixels." What else would they call it, "Super-HD"?

Apparently not enough considering Samsunng has still sold more phones than Apple worldwide and Android is gaining marketshare

And if it were past your warranty, you would probably be pretty pissed when they said sorry, you have to buy a new one.

Why would Samsung have a huge SD card slot instead of a regular sized HD card slot? That is simply lame...

Why would Apple not have any card slot at all? That is simply lame. It's the one hardware feature on Android phones that I wish my iPhone had.

It's funny how people always say the big screen is an issue.

We use smartphones for that screen. Otherwise why not buy a cheap flip phone if you don't need a big screen?

I see people looking at their phone more than they do doing anything else. So I think actually big screens is a good thing.

How about a 40 inch tv on ur ear then? It's all about usability. Some like siii but for some it's way too big. Siii can do in a handbag but I won't try to put it in a jeans pocket.... Or even on an armband when running :p

We're talking about Apple, not 'other companys'

You dont have to mfg every single component in your product to have made it. That's not what design engineering is.

If you use that standard, only component manufacturers would get credit and the engineers that actually integrate everything into a cohesive system via circuit design, software, etc get no credit.

Even that Intel motherboard has third party components soldered to it. Same for the PCB inside that Sony DVD player

Trolls seem to be out in extreme amounts tonight.
Samsung must be paying bonuses for trolling...

Regarding the advertisement, i think Samsung is pulling a good one. Will be interesting to see if it works!
But it begs the question.. if it's the next big thing then why do you have to tell us that it's the next big thing?

So your saying the iPhone will overtake Android in marketshare? Despite 1.3 million a day being sold and activated?

I don't dislike the competition on the advertising front, but this ad is a little too simple. Just a side by side list of some features favoring Samsung. It's not funny or clever.

After they have done with copying, and failure in court ....,
now they are testing another way of cheating and fraud ,
samsunG is never ever comparable with Apple ,cause there is a long time
they've been busy with making Washing machines , refrigerators (the device that Galaxy S3 inspired by) , vacuum cleaners and this kinda stuff,. ...
just imagine what samsung would be if Google kept Android for itself , and didn't give it to other companies, without Android All of them (samsung,HTC, and..) have nothing to say, exactly like Nokia.
There is much more to say about Apple and its competitors(rest of the world)
but Apple fans know that Apple is different.

I think you'll find the length matters more than the width. And on that front the new iphone 5 is just as long as other phones for all intent and purpose.

Personally, I have never found it comfortable to put the iphone 4 in a pair of jeans or tight pants so I think smaller size is bit of a moot point in terms of W and H. Thickness and weight is another story. For slacks I find the weight of the iphone was actually making it presence much more obvious than the larger size of the galaxy nexus.

How about voicing one's opinion? There's nothing wrong with people having different opinions than you.
This is MacRumors, not Apple Fan Site. I think people with Android devices can still participate in rumor related discussions.

Indeed.

Lots of Android users, like myself. We have Android phones, but we also own Macs,

Yeah but after the warranty is up, youre screwed. It reminds me of Sony Minidisc recorders; they were easily the best portable players until proper mp3 players came out from the likes of Cowon/iAudio. Sound quality was great, battery life was awesome, it was digital, could record from any source, discs were small and far more durable than regular CDs due to the shell and the gumstick batteries lasted a long time and were priced very well.

The problem?

Planned obsolescence. Just like iDevices.

A lot of those minidisc recorders crapped out just after the warranty. And just like the Sony MD, iPods and all of their other devices usually start to crap out after about a year, the battery just doesnt hold up. Typically the batteries last about 300-400 charges before battery life starts going downhill. With normal usage, charging once a day gets close to the 400 charge cycle after about a year.... after that..... like I said, your screwed.

That reason alone has made me look at portable apple devices in disgust as I've experienced this bull***t from them first hand. Its left a bitter taste that I will never forget. (on top of the battery going bad, the hard drive in my iPod failed too). It was the worst experience I've ever had.

Worked well for Apple when they ripped off Xerox.... Jobs even admitted it himself.

Uh-oh, did I just state a fact that puts Apple in a negative light? Why, yes. Yes I did.

Apple did rip off Xerox's basic idea of a GUI OS. They paid compensation.

Microsoft ripped off the entire Mac GUI.

Google and Samsung copied the "look and feel" from iOS. It's still nothing compared to what Microsoft did.
