No charge here yet. Ordered two phones, one at 12:04 Pacific and the other at 12:13 Pacific. Both have 9/28 - 10/5 dates. Ordered through Apple Store app. T-Mobile 256 SG Max.
I'm in the same boat as you almost exactly, including same phone and carrier. I didn't note the time, but 3:04 ET is probably exactly about when my order was placed. It seems like they either had a significantly lower supply and/or higher demand for T-Mobile than other carriers.

I was referring to the phones..

This is my pre order history for the last 2 phones I purchased:

2014:
Original delivery dates: Oct. 1 - Oct. 6
Arrival date: September 25th

2016:
Original delivery dates: Oct. 4 - Oct. 10
Arrival date: September 24th

I’ve always purchased within a few hours after pre ordering going online, from Apple, and I always seem to pick the most popular option (space gray 6+, jet black 7+, space gray Xs Max - all with middle tier storage)
This gives me high hopes for my order. I slept through my alarms and got to the Pre-Order 30 minutes late. Just hoping I can get it before the 28th as I am headed out of town that day.

Yeah, it does seem like they didn't have the stock for the T-Mobile group. It's a bit disheartening to anxiously wait all day and into the night, to preorder minutes after it goes live and then not even get launch date. I'm hoping the dates move, like everybody else.

I know what you mean but be thankful that you're on PT, because it's even worse after you set an alarm for 3 a.m.

I ordered at 3:02 eastern and got a 28-5 delivery date. Canceled and ordered again yesterday when I saw that my local Apple store had stock. Picking it up on Friday. I’m afraid of having it shipped anyway...it’s the most expensive phone I’ve ever bought and I don’t want it to disappear.

I ordered as soon as the app opened on my phone, I think around 12:05 pdt. Max 256 SG for TM. I was in and out in seconds because I had it favorited already and still got 9/28-10/5. I then realized on my iPad I could order the sim free version for 9/21 delivery but I was afraid of the credit card company thinking there was fraud with so many purchases and possibly screwing up both orders, so I stuck with the original. I wish I would have known they were selling sim free for pre order, they never have before. Still hopeful I get it sooner.

Nice!

I’m thinking my stores stock was very limited.. they didn’t give me the choice to pick up in store.

That was the other thing that annoyed me. I got the 9/28 - 10/5 delivery date when I ordered, and there were stores generally near me that were slated to have stock on 9/21, but I couldn't do anything with my order because they prevent you from changing or cancelling right after placing the order (at least right after pre-orders start) and of course those pickup options all went away by the time I could do anything about it.

Poor us. This is the screwed up thread.
All I see is still in f**** progress

Im in this boat too. Order finalized between 335-335am EST on Friday. I order the XS Max 256GB gold. Still says order in progress and no funds have been pulled from my account.

Ordered 256 XS Max Space Gray for Verizon around 10:30 EST with a Sep 28-Oct 5 date. My experiences in the past is that Apple improves its delivery dates. Hope that is the case here.

Same here. Ordered about 10 mins after pre-orders began. XS Max 256 SG. No credit card charge yet. I have alerts setup on my card, so once its charged I'm gonna get an email. Every time I get a ping I check to see if its Apple's charge. But nope. Just regular spam till now.

Preordered mine as soon as the store opened up, got my email at 3:04 am EST. Still landed in the 28th - 5th time frame. This is for the 512 GB iPhone XS Max on the AT&T Network. I just kinda wonder if the screens are a little bit of a holdup on the max sizes. Would make sense for the small constraints.

This is my first time preordering an Apple device and did so with the Apple Store app.

Is it normal to order the night of the 14th and still have a delivery window this far out? I just wondered if there was any chance it would come sooner but have no frame of reference from preordering Apple devices.

edit: Maybe useful for people to start posting when their shipment status changes for September 28th+ delivery frame windows.
Uhm if ur a regular u have to know that u got to order the first 5 mins lol to get into the first batch. If u snooze u loose.

If you live in places like New York you won’t get processed until the day before. I’ve gotten launch day phones since the iphone 4, and every time, the order status doesnt change/charge/ship until the day before. Im in metro area NY, and people around me same thing. Don’t get all nutty ‘cause you haven’t got order progress yet, you might be near a shipping hub like me, Apple has many.

Just keep checking UPS using your whole phone number (i.e. 5165556666) as a reference. It should show up even if its still preparing to go to UPS.

that's far from the case this year. depending on the model, folks were still ordering many hours after 12 am PT and still getting a 9/21 ship date.

received my confirmation email at 2:07 CST, AT&T Space Gray, 512GB SX Max. 28th to the 5th. First time since the first iPhone I missed launch day. I'm not pleased. haha

Wife and I ordered space grey and gold Xs Max 512. 6am pst. Same dates listed as you all. No movement yet either.

Mine was placed at 2:06 AM CST AT&T SG 512GB XS Max. At first the delivery time frame was 10/5-10/12 but changed later in the day Friday to 9/28 -10/5. Not too happy because their app wouldn’t let me into the store until I changed to cellular. A person in my household ordered at the same time on WiFi they are getting theirs 9/21. Hoping there is some movement but not holding my breath. I would consider cancelling but I’m on the 1UP and it seems like it would be a hasssle.

I’m on iUP as well and already cancelled once. The system let me reorder again after around 20 minutes. I chatted with an Apple specialist and she said the process could take up to 24 hours.

I've preordered several times and seen it all almost lol. This time- Same boat. Nonchalantly woke up on the east coast and ordered a iPhone XS Max 256 GB - Space Gray. Think I got my confirmation at about 10am ET still sitting at Order Processing- not that I am expecting movement. To answer your question- Its more than normal to see late shipping dates when preordering the day of.

Based on other threads the demand for Max is way higher than the base size. Perhaps going for the Max was a bit XS-ive. (Sorry I was waiting on a chance to use that)

Checking back in, wasn't expecting it but no movement, no charge- I imagine having ordered much later than the majority of these posts I'll be the exit window variable.
