Just got back from Century City! There were 4 left! They were so surprised when I walked up to them ready to purchase! If you head there now I think you can still snatch one! I was tempted to buy 2 but decided to do the nice thing and leave it for others

Called my nearest store yesterday & got an immediate no. Called again a little while later and got a different person who said "they had some earlier" but weren't sure how many.
Tempted to call into the Madison store just to see, but it's almost 2 hours from me. I'd be afraid I'd get there & they'd sell out. Or I'd have been misinformed. Perhaps I'd better just wait.

@Joell27 Any chance you have any intel for a fellow DMV area resident? I've tried G-town, Clarendon, Pentagon City. I'm a UX designer and really my primary use case is sketching and notes. The iPP has not-much-joy w/o the Pencil, for me.

I know. And the guys at the store in the galleria seemed perplexed that I even asked.
Just picked up a pencil at NYC Grand Central. Only had 32gb iPad Pro so I'll pop in tomorrow and see if I can get a 128gb LTE model. Also no keyboard covers in stock.
my question is simply this:
why are these cats lying/unwilling to say over the phone they have these in stock? if they are indeed on the shelf what is the harm in saying so? good grief ive never experienced this kind of drama over a bloody piece of kit.

YES! I even went in yesterday to ask in person and they looked at me like I had two heads. West County was even giving me some attitude when I called.
I was told twice by my store that none were in stock. Went in anyways and walked away with one. Its worth a shot!
Just picked my Pencil up from Somerset Apple Store here in Troy, Michigan. They had 5 left behind me...grab one if you are in the area!
4 left as of just a few minutes ago!! Employee I bought it from didn't even know they had any. Thanks for the heads up!
Just got the last two at the South Coast Plaza Store in CA!
Check the app and do in store pickup... they usually update about an 30 minutes to an hour after opening.

BTW, I think they put more out, was like 8-9 just now.BTW, per my wife - if you go to the product page on apple.com, you can online chat from there and they can check in-store stock (they confirmed that Bellevue had them as I was on my way...). Pretty quick response...

I know its ridiculous. The people on the line don't know anything they are just following the script
PSA! My Pencil tip was wobbly because it wasn't screwed on all the way from the factory! Be sure to check the Pencil you receive.
That also explains why my Pencil was working intermittently until I had it tightened all the way down. 
Had to sign up just to reply and thank you for the tip. They had two on the shelves, plus four in the back. My friends and I got 5 of them. I saw the guy who grabbed the last one as I was paying.
