was at town square in las vegas for two hours while they unpacked today's shipment, no luck but kyle was awesome! he checked twice for me and was generally a good dude. while i was sitting there a guy came in and asked about the pencil and another not so great sales associate told him 4 to 5 weeks what a d%4k

None in Arden Fair, Sacramento. They had a handful but sold out quickly, according to a specialist there. This process is so frustrating.

After calling and talking back and forth to employee after employee, I got.... NOTHING! Yay!

I was told no pencil in one store, then called another who said that "yes we have pencil but no holding... not even 1," one employee even said try Best Buy, (really Apple?) then I was told even more useless tips and suggestions when buying an Apple Product... and it all was confusing and contradictory to what each of the employees said... So I called Apple to ask for complete clarity on what they can and cannot do... After someone answered, first thing I was told:
"first sir, I cannot do anything for you here."
I replied (not word for word)
"That's totally fine, I understand. I am not calling for any handout or promo or anything like that, I am calling as I was told many different things and was given a run around about policies and just wanted to know what the truth is, on how I can get a pencil."
She was cold but semi-polite I guess, I could tell she probably has received many phone calls complaining about stuff... but eh.
Anyways, it went nowhere, so the last question I asked was: "so essentially it is all luck... should I just be at the store at opening and hope they will get some in?"
She replied, "yes sir, that's all you can do."
No over the phone orders, no holds, no online ordering for in-store... awesome. I was hoping at-least the phone order thing was an option (like one agent told me) but she said "it is, but not this new of a device." ...#EpicAppleFAIL
I honestly don't know what to do now. I can't just willy nilly drive up to a store as it takes a bit of time, so by the time I would get there it would be gone. Waiting in line for the store to open is a no go, as it's more likely they won't get them in and i'll again have wasted a trip. Anyone have any suggestions aside waiting 5 weeks?

Kal.

Anyone from the SF Bay Area have any news? I will be hitting the road tomorrow looking for one.

Tomorrow around lunch I plan on making a trip to U Village and Bellevue (if no luck at U Village) for any of you in the Seattle area looking and waiting. So I'll let y'all know what I come up with.

Yoink!

Got the last one at Bellevue square by walking in and asking for a pencil at 4:05.

Guy said "We have one pencil - you're very lucky. 4pm was the cutoff time for a business pickup, and they never showed. I was gonna buy it."

Still no luck on the keyboard.

I got one yesterday at the Florida Mall. They had about six on the shelf and the person who helped me check out didn't even know they were there.

So fate says I will just have to wait for my pencil to ship. I went to the king street charleston store last Saturday to pick up a case and to see if they had pencils and my car broke down on the way home. The car overheated (no water?) and I had to pull off real quick. I was able to get some water from a nearby store and it seemed to run ok so I had someone follow me home. I decided to call this morning to see if they had stock and they said they had some but couldn't tell me how many. I immediately left work and drove (30 minutes)!to get there and the geek that met me at the door said they were out of stock. Someone had just bought one and I had him check again and he showed me their app snowing 0 in stock. I left and got maybe a few miles and I saw steam then heard a pop and I immediately pulled into the closest street. Turns out my radiator hose popped off the radiator then I noticed it seemed the (plastic) radiator tube end had broke off. I called the other coworker and he brought some tools and we were able to get the hose on and filled it up and he followed me back to work. So I will not be driving to the Apple Store any more and will just have to wait for mine to ship.

As of 7:30 pm EST the Harrison Greene location (Dayton-notDayton) has zero pencils. Very happy I drove 75 minutes on the slim chance I could buy one instead of paying 200 dollars to some jackass on Ebay.

Yoink indeed. I'm also trying to get a hold of one in that area. :\

I'll try Best Buy when I see availability there on the website. Their nearest store is closer than any Apple location so I'll just wait it out.

I was told today by an Apple Store employee that if at 8am est you put either the keyboard or the Apple pencil in your cart and even though checking local stores isn't an option, when you're going to the checkout page if your store has it available it will pop up. He said that there were customers today that purchased both the keyboard and pencils for pickup.

I hope for all the members and people looking that Apple gets this thing in to high gear quick. Mainly so that everyone can get back to being productive, stop wasting gas and better yet the scalpers will be stuck with overpriced units that nobody will buy. Apple should then blacklist them from stores and purchasing more than one unit in the future. Just my thoughts

This is strange.

I'm not sure about the 'My store' part.

He said on the checkout page where now it says pickup unavailable it will give you the option at 8am since their system syncs with online.

Sounds odd but since he did say people today picked up a couple of keyboards and pencils it might be worth a try.

Hmm I wouldn't be too sure about that. Especially considering they receive stock at different hours of the day. And for that message to pop up would mean that the location either had unsold stock from the day before or a shipment that night.

If anyone near Cleveland, Ohio wants to send me one, I'll Paypal ya!!

Good to see some kind, honest souls in here offering to send extras to people at cost.
