Cambridgeside Galleria Apple Store Boston Ma. Has smart keyboards in stock but no pencils. Not only did none come in today but as I mentioned in an earlier post the employees are also eagerly awaiting the chance to purchase. As I work near by and have been coming in twice a day we are developing a friendly competition on who can buy one first.

Like someone else said, go to an Apple store (not call) and ask them to check their own inventory, as well as any nearby stores. Scored one this morning after doing exactly that. Calling the store is going to send you to a central call center and they're going to read the script about how they have none in stock and you should just order it online.

Nearby stores other than my local one 15 minutes away are too far for my taste to make it even worth it. I know the floodgates will open, it is only a matter of time. It ain't like millions bought the Pro, stores will get enough pencils and keyboards.

Good to hear some success stories! This is kind of interesting.... I'm hearing people wait outside for mostly technical assistance, which is cool - not everyone is a fanatic like me :p

The Kingstreet store in Charleston, SC had none and said they were expecting some in a week. They did however have some nice giveaway pencils sitting on the iPad Pro demo desks ;)

Another Charlestonite? :) I'm pretty sure every employee at the King Street store knows me now :p

If you get to the automated system and say "Speak to a manager," you'll get somebody actually in the store.

ok, I called a couple stores in my area. Got to the actual store. They said they had none of course, but I asked how many people have been calling. Form what they told me, I estimate they are getting over ten calls a day; that's each store.
Odd.

So Apple really needs to make a statement in the next couple of days.

Well I'm just outside the Apple Store in Los Gatos and it appears they don't have it either (staff member told me twice). I'll still be going in for a quick check + get AppleCare+ with Discover 22% discount.

How can you get a 22% discount with Discover?

Remember, that is just the number of people who know to say "speak to a manager." I'm sure the actual number of customers trying to reach that store but are getting redirected to a call center is 10x as many.

It's true about the redirect. I didn't think of that.

Utah, still none. They said they've had 15 arrive so far (apparently they arrive in boxes of 5 from the reports). Employees I talked to were also waiting to buy them.

With Staples listing them as available starting Nov 18th, and that being around when the bulk of early online orders will be coming in, I'd make sure to check 3rd party retailers starting on Wed.

I e-mailed Tim Cook about this mess. I'm not sure what good it will do, but I think that anyone here who hasn't done so already, should do so.

I thought about that too. Still have a couple of Steve Jobs emails in my inbox from communications years ago. At a minimum, it provides a thrill when you get a reply -- even if your better sense is telling you someone must be replying for him (or Tim). Although rumors were Steve would occasionally reply himself... I liked to suspend disbelief.

Incidentally, those never accelerated the resolution of my issues -- but just dulled the annoyance a bit with the thrill.

Incidentally, I eMailed Tim Cook Saturday morning. Today (Monday) I got a call from an "Apple Online Executive Relations" contact in Austin, TX. He wasn't able to give me any additional information other than what everyone has been reporting. He did inform me that Mr. Cook did read my eMail (of course I have no real verification of this) and restated my dissapointment over lack of key accessories being available on Day One.

I don't have the free time to run over to the Apple Store every day, so hoping we'll start seeing some orders being expedited once supplies become more abundant.

To add further insult to injury, my current Adonit Jot Touch Pro and Wacom BT stylii will not pair or work on the iPad Pro, which was purchased primarily to use with the Apple Pencil. *SIGH*

What they need to do, is to at least allow 'existing' owners to get one of the Unicorns being shipped out to stores for random guy.

Of course, as someone pointed out, this would not help selling stuff to random guy, and they already have OUR money. So it guess it's pretty much useless.

Oh well

I can't understand why Apple Stores are selling multiple pencils to customers. If stores are only receiving cases of 5 at a time, there should be a limit of one per person while supplies are constrained. I realize most people genuinely want/need more than one pencil, but there are many who are buying simply to scalp on the secondary market.

I doubt if scalpers have the magical ability to know which store will receive them. I would think some have just been lucky, otherwise they are all waiting on the online pre-order like everyone else.
