Half week done guys!
My work killing me busy and can't have much time to be creative this week, but hope rest of you guys doing well!
Interesting to see that it seems iPad Pro 12.9" actually proving people how great it is and size doesn't matter as much as they think, compare to new 9.7".
Myself decided to stay with 12.9" as well, even though I wished it's smaller when first time I got 12.9".(now I love it).

None of the apps used by people posting in here are specific to the pro, at least not to my knowledge. Procreate, astropad, Adobe sketch plus a ton of drawing apps are all available across the iPad range. All you need is a stylus, unless you want to draw with your fingers

True... But there's nothing like the Apple Pencil!

Okay, let's try that again!
(I hope these show up...)

The three main apps I use are:
  • Paper by 53
  • Sketchbook
  • Adobe Sketch
I have Procreate but have not tried it yet.

True... But there's nothing like the Apple Pencil!

Very true! I've used Wacom tablets for work for a fair amount of years now and the Apple Pencil is currently my favourite digital drawing tool. I honestly believe that if the next couple of generations of IPP are done right, and the required apps progress in the way they're heading, I will be able to use an IPP for work and not have to rely on a Wacom anymore.

My IPP has taken maybe 75% of my wacoms workload already.

Out of curiosity and ignorance what does a Wacom tablet do that the iPad Pro can't?

First, this is a great thread!!!

Got my Pencil two days ago. Still waiting for my new 9.7" Pro. Downloaded ProCreate to my iPad Mini Retina (first gen) and did this little drawing in about 30 min with my fingers. Gonna try to reproduce it with the Pencil on the Pro to compare. Will upload that when I get it in a few days.

I can't wait to see what others do with theirs. I used to love to draw when I was in school (like 25 years ago... <sigh>)and it's one of the primary reasons I purchased the 9.7 Pro and the Pencil. For me the 12.9 was just a little too large and expensive for my needs... And it won't fit in my computer bag/satchel.

Use actual Adobe Creative Cloud software (illustrator, photoshop, etc), not watered-down App versions. Also some Wacom pens have rotation sensitivity, which the Apple Pencils do not.

Actually now you can use those software on iPad too, if you use Astropad(app) and use your iPad as a monitor. Then I can use Apple Pencil to draw on Photoshop, that's quite impressive experience.

It's cute :) Before I got 12.9" Pro, I was drawing with my finger on my iPad mini too! So, I can imagine how much you're looking forward to have experience with Apple Pencil. You gonna love it!

Here is my dragon I drew on my iPhone with my finger before iPad mini came out, in 2011-2012 lol

And another one also drew by finger.

Now I have Apple Pencil and iPad Pro, it's like you're drawing on paper with your hand.

Out of curiosity and ignorance what does a Wacom tablet do that the iPad Pro can't?

I think Wacom still has better pressure sensitivity, better tilt and it has real time rotation, the ability to create a keyboard and lag free photoshop experience with the express keys and virtual buttons is better, it has much better Palm rejection (this is apples weakest point right now). I like the shape of Wacom pens more and the buttons are manditiry for my work flows, Wacom has better feeling pen on screen feel, the apple is slick glass, and wacom benefits of much more powerful software and hardware, so there are no canvas size or brush size limits.

These features largely only matter to working artists. The Apple Pencil is great, it has low initial force like Wacom , good pressure, and lowest parallax of any pen I've used. That said, for me the iPad Pro is a wonderful companion device to a cintiq companion. Both make great art. I love mine for sketching, Plein air painting, and as a battery powered second screen. I do 10% of my artwork on iPad Pro, the rest on a cintiq 27" or cintiq companion. Out of all the styluses I have tried, It's Second only to the Wacom art pen on way more expensive cintiq hardware. Astropad was a horrible experience for my art style. Totally unusable for photo bashing and too laggy for me. But to each there own. It works great for others. I hope apple includes video capture and the ability to color calibrate future iPads. Then I could use it. Oh and some buttons.

I Reworked a concept art peice for a video game on my iPad Pro. "Broken Halo Spaceport" is the name of this artwork.

Well here's mine, probably the first drawing I've done in a long time. I'm really technical so I don't have much artistic skill but it is really enjoyable to work out my creative side a bit. I did do one of those paint night things where you go and have some drinks and follow along with a painter and it was really fun so maybe I'll try and redo that picture on the iPad Pro. One of the big things I learned with that is as more technical I like to see things perfect or in the right place (which I can't do) but with this stuff I just have to let that go and relax and have fun. Once I didn't worry about how it was all going to turn out I started doing a lot better. Lots of amazing advice in here so just figured I'd share that bit because it was a big help, I kind of have to just let go to enjoy it at least for me.

So I'm a big bulls fan so figured I'd take a shot at their logo. It was pretty cool to pull up the logo in split screen and use it as a reference. Big help and I need all the help I can get lol! Really enjoyed it, I have absolutely no clue how good the pencil is compared to others but it seemed really nice to me and it was fun and pretty easy to figure out some basic stuff in procreate. Seems like a great program!

I've been crazy busy lately, plus it was my birthday over the weekend so I've not had much chance to do anything none work related. Really need to find time to crack on with personal and freelance projects!

I started this with the intention of it being the "A" for my 36 days of type follow along but I gave up making the shape so rigid and figured to just have fun with it instead, I'm already 2 days behind on it so I think ill probably join in at the weekend when I can blast through a bunch of letters and catch up.

I like it.

I remember, when first time I started finger drawing on my iPhone(I think it was iPhone 3 or 4 probably), I put myself on "50days quick finger drawing on iPhone challenge". Each drawing should be done between 30 min to 1 hour, and it was really "challenging" to me.
But after 50 days done, I noticed my finger drawing skill on iPhone got much better, and know that app by the time I was using for(I think it was Skechbook mobile) much better as well!

If you do bigger size and more detailed one like you did, I think it's even fair to give yourself a week for one letter :)

I wish people all who posting here living near San Francisco, then I can gather iPad Pro/Apple Pencil drawing meeting(or meetup or what so ever)!

This cat looks so much like my cat that passed away a year ago. Is it a drawing of a cat you have? I also like the dragon you drew on the iPhone, it's so cute!

Thank you :)
Actually this is my friend's cat and now in heaven as well. My friend really loves this cat, so I drew picture for her. Losing someone(either human or other animals) is tough when that person/animals mean a lot to you. And there is only so much you can say with your words, never enough. As one of artists, this is one of things I was able to do for her to share her sadness.

Ok, This was my very first piece of art I did with my new iPad Pro and Pencil. I was just messing around with some brushes and getting used to the procreate app. I used to draw all the time in my younger years (pin-up,fantasy art manga style stuff) I am soooooo out of practice. :( I was trying to do some stuff like that but I got frustrated and ended up deleting them when they were not turning out right. I am really enjoying the apple pencil though. I am trying to practice a bit and get back into doing some more artwork again. I hope you enjoy this little piece. :) It's been 20 something years since I have did any art at all. I am very rusty and also still new to to digital art in general.
Also, Thanks to FairyCatInPink for letting me know about this thread. Some great artwork here on the MR forums!:D

Yay, welcome :)
I love to watch people enjoying their creative side, and that's so inspiring.
I no longer see the person who made this thread originally here, but there're still lot of nice people here and they are not afraid of showing off their art works, that's so cool :)
