First doodle with PaintStorm which I'm really enjoying. It's really nothing like Procreate, and takes a while to get set up how you'd like it. It "handles" very differently though and I'm probably going to use it for different types of stuff. It's really good for spacey airbrushing type pics - comes with a bunch of star spatter brushes.

This is what the UI looks like on my 9.7. I love how precise the pencil is that I can easily use UI elements at these tiny sizes! Excuse the cheesiness, haha. The floating ball was supposed to be a planet. XD

Some of the functionality in PStorm is incredibly well thought out - the controls in the bottom left particularly.

Been a while since I posted anything, so here's something I started and haven't gotten around to finishing up yet.

Good to see the thread is still popping off! Keep up the good work everyone!

I like this one!

For me, somehow Procreate seems easy to get around and easy to create brushes I like. But I have Paintstorm on my iPad Pro as well, sometimes I play with it a bit, maybe just need to get use to the way it is.
Good to see someone creating great work on that App since Procreate seems more popular.

Thank you. :) I also generally prefer Procreate - it's a lot more immediate and it's brushes seem more logical. Paintstorm is more "everything but the kitchen sink" and I think it both suffers and benefits from that. I'm not likely to be loading up paintstorm without a particular reason to, but I'm enjoying experimenting with the UI. Procreate will carry on being my daily art thingy, almost certainly!

Edit: paintstorms default pencils are terrrrrible too.

HB Pencil in procreate.. 9.7" iPp (actually the planning blue outline bit was drawn in procreate mobile on my ip6+ with a Wacom creative stylus!) but.. Wow! Procreate pencils are so nice when paired with the Apple Pencil! Not sure whether to colour or not.

- created a YouTube channel just to upload the replay videos to as they're so fun to watch back (probably only to me, but oh well!)

I love your cat portraits, do you do commissions? (I have 4 cats and like supporting other artists!)

I have 4 cats too! 2 Bengals, 1 Siamese mix and 1 Snowshoe mix. All boys.
I do custom cats portraits per taking orders, if you're interested :)

Well, that was unexpected! :)
Adobe Draw again? Do you like the interface better than Procreate?

It's not so much the interface for me as it is the bitmap Vs vector thing. I've been doing vector illustrations for years so Adobe Draw being vector based means I work in a similar way as I would in Adobe Illustrator, plus if I want to take a drawing further I can export to illustrator and carry on.

I enjoy using procreate, it's a good app, but I'm very new to digital painting and it takes me much longer to do something that I'm content with posting, I'm still playing around and trying to find my style with it.

I've been churning stuff out over the last week or so to the extent I don't want to spam the thread so have combined them. XD

Here's my Procreate doodles made into a collage (ive posted a couple already!) Some are just experimental doodles (wizardry dude and dragon probably took about 10-15 mins each) others taking a bit longer. The 3 comic pages work OK as a weird triptych?

Coolest thing about procreate for me is how damn fast drawing in I t is compared to when I'm in Photoshop (or paintstorm it seems) where I tend to zoom in an concentrate too much on tiny detail. It's not photoshop's fault I do that but it's definitely fun to go fast for a change.

Last time I drew was when I was a kid. Never liked to draw digitally but when I got the iPad Pro I started drawing again.

I wasn't able for a few months but picked it up again today.

Done in pro create.
So don't be too harsh.

It was done from an example in a book I got from one of my interns.

Very nice cat drawing. It's funny you should mention that, I have essential tremors too. Even though I can draw, sometimes hard to work with. So I understand where you are coming from. Thank god for the back and undo buttons. LOL

Word! Thicker lines or paint style is much more forgiving, but still I would need the undo. I suspect the glass screen protector is also contributing to the wobble, because I did the pen and ink that is my icon on a Wacom tablet and had far less wobble there.

I have a wet application screen protector on my iPad, which makes the surface feel softer. I wonder if this might give the Penncil more grip and help prevent wobbles.

This is the one I have, but there are other manufacturers who make this type of screen protector.

Skull study from the weekend, Adobe draw.

This is awesome! Would make an excellent T-shirt print.

I can't get adobe draw to cooperate at all. I'm not at all used to a vector workflow so it just ends up looking a bit crappy. I see how hyper detail seems to work well though. How on earth do you get line work that doesn't appear lumpy when it connects to other bits of line work?

I've been using my iPad Pro (12.9") for a while for drawing some science t-shirts (I sell them in various webs). As a student I don't get much time for this but here are some of the most recent ones:

Text is added afterwards with Pixelmator for Mac. I know my technique is not very good right now, but I think it's improving (slowly).
