FairyCatinPink, that black and white portrait looks so real that it looks like a photograph, such a great job. You're artwork is so amazing. I strive to be as good as you and a lot of others on this forum. Just amazing some of the work on here.

Thank you for such a compliment.
I liked your portrait of your friends' dog, it has good hand drawing touch.
But if you want to add bit more realistic portion, try to use hair brushes for dogs hair.
I'm not sure if your Procreate brushes setting is same as I use, but I have three hair brushes under "touch ups", in brush section. Those hair brushes are pretty good, I like to use them for my cats portraits.

Okay thanks, I've used the ones in that nude portrait I did a little while back. So I guess I can try those hair brushes. I assume you're talking about the ones that already come in Procreate. Right? I'm glad you told me that, because I've wondered what kind of Brushes you were using to get such realistic looking fur for the cats. Thanks for the tip.:) I'm working on a portrait of my own Labrador Retriever. I've got the initial drawing done, just have to start on the painting part and coloring.

This thread seems to have gone a little quiet, which is a pity because it has been really inspiring. To kickstart it again here is a sketch of four artists that I've always admired.

I know, sorry for being away lately!
My life got really crazy at this moment, I forced to work crazy amount of hours for my living job, I have couple of new ones to share but never had enough time to come here and put on.
I hope all other artists here are doing good, and let's hope we can see more drawings here too ;)

Wow, simply amazing.

We just got my daughter an IPP 9.7 for her art (I convinced the wife it's cheaper in the long run than buying a bunch of Copic pens.) I am going to point her to follow this thread since there have been pointers on how to make certain things work.

I see such cool stuff that it makes me want to go out and get a pen then u realize I can hardly write my name and realize it would be pointless.

Just have fun, and no one can draw as they want when first time they started using it. Also it depends on if you can find right devices/app/softwares to create your art.
In my case, I tried some drawing tablets and pens before iPad Pro and Apple Pencil came out. It seems still many people like to use Wacom tablets and pens, I tried them but didn't like them, I used them with Photoshop and illustrator and just couldn't focus on drawing because of their time lag. But when I saw video of iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, I thought it worth to get them and try, and I wasn't wrong. Also I tried some Apps, and figured out Procreate is the best to use for me.
Still when I started using them(both devices and app), I needed time to get use to. I still don't write well as much as I write with pen on paper since I barely use them to write actual letters, but now I can draw much easier. So, when you start, there's need to have some patience and practice time, even if you find right devices and apps/softwares "for you".
You will see progress when you continuously draw with them. I didn't draw like I can now when I started.
I'm thinking to re-draw same thing when I did after iPad/Apple Pencil came out and I started drawing cats eyes, then you can see how my skill was progressed just after less than 1 year drawing with them.
The key elements of successful digital drawing are finding right tools for you and knowing apps/softwares brushes and its effects you use.

Just open a drawing app and spread some colors around without trying to draw anything. I find it relaxing. ;)

I'd post some here, but I'm afraid it'd be off topic, because I don't have a Pencil and just do it with my finger.

As I remember, in past posts there were couple of people who posted their time lapse videos here, but I don't have that link. It seems not many active artists here do it.
I created time lapse video also once and posted here when someone asked me, if you can check my past posts, you maybe able to find the link. It's some months ago though.
