So, I spent a bit more time with the iPad and Procreate. Works beautifully for an amateur coming from graphite and colored pencil. Here is my eye. Not sure how much time. Maybe 5-6 hours or so. Part of that is learning Procreate as well as the pencil.

That is a bit much for me because I'm squeamish about eyes, but I had to 'like' it. That's incredible! Are you really an amateur? Please tell me you're an artist who's being paid vast sums of money for your work! 'Wow' doesn't really cover the awe I have for what you've just shared with us.

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, I’m an amateur and I started drawing about 10 years ago (I am now 50). I’ve only done about a dozen pieces and they have all been graphite or colored pencil. I did a little sketching as part of my mechanical engineering education 25 years ago. This was my second foray into digital art. The first is the strawberry I posted earlier on. I have done a fair bit of web design but I would not consider that the same.

Sadly no large bags of money for me :) I am currently a software developer by day in the health research industry. Yet another thing I did not go to school for.

That is amazing sir. Oh, to get to that point.

Finally, another piece I am very happy with. Finished earlier today. Based on...

This is very good. The fact that software and hardware can come together to empower all of use to try things like this in a way that so closely reflects the analog alternative, is fantastic.

The top two of these were very unfinished pencil sketches 10 years ago that I’ve recently revisited and added more detail in Procreate.. None are finished yet but still a lot prettier than they used to be!

The third is entirely Procreate, no RL pencil stage at all. Best app/hardware combination ever for me.. it’s the best bits of both natural and digital media in a perfectly sized device.

These are all stage loading screens for an indie game I was working on.

@mixel: nice work as always. That's cool you were designing a game.

I've been bit by the Porg bug and drawing Star Wars' adorable little avians almost as much as Shaw folks and some Dario Argentoesque monks.

The Porgs make me smile. Now more than ever, I need that.

Funny, it would take something cute to lure me back to Star Wars...but deep down, I knew I was a Star Wars lifer.

Great job. Those trees need some more friends though. ;)

Hehe ya i was just learning as i went. By the end i wouldve used a different brush for the bushes i did in the back too. Might go back to it but i doubt it. Onto something new!

Loving the procreate 4 update though.
