This is my favorite thread on MR right now. I love seeing the creativity. I only had that one eye drawing, and I hadn't drawn for 20 years. Working on a Super Mario now. Will post when I'm finished.

My bad drawing but it's fun to draw again

any other artists having issues with procreate? i keep getting the screen moving all over by itself while im trying to draw. it thinks my palm is two fingers and is moving, panning, tilting, all on its own. also, the pencil does not always register my marks. sometimes i have to make the same stoke twice. Also, the pressure curve is really inconsistent, especially with tilt. i think the predictive logic is bad for people with good dexterity. maybe i just need more practice here with these features, but it feels really poor after using wacom cinitq's. i want to like this thing, its such a nice tablet, but the bugs kill the drawing experience.

Be careful your non-drawing hand is not accidentally touching the screen someplace else. I have experienced a few instances of wonky behavior only to realize that my non-drawing thumb was touching the screen which was confusing Procreate. Once I shifted my thumbs position the software started acting normally.

The only issue I've had is the first touch to the screen sometimes has the wrong pressure, like 1000%. Usually I have a finger or something touching part of the screen in addition to my hand/palm holding the pencil. The result is a giant blotch at the start of the line. I suspect there is still some work to be done implementing Apple's api. I know the notes app is more responsive, and lines are cleaner.

I would love to see setting that I only want to make marks with the pencil tip, and never my finger. Fingers are just for multitouch, pan/zoom type stuff.

Check out the options for Procreate in the Settings app. There are several options for finger control. I have mine set for Gestures Only for fingers.

And once it snaps it to a straight line, if you continue holding that point, you can drag it around, lengthen/shorten it, etc.
I totally missed that when I've been using it. I've been saying I wish it had a ruler for a while, so this is awesome!

I shared my first drawing with the Apple Pencil up above somewhere on page 5 I think (the elf)

Here's my second drawing with the Apple Pencil. Pencil work in Adobe Sketch and ink and color in Procreate.

Excellent work. Same comment about the elf. Truly great work though. Hoping to get better at drawing.
