This is what mine looks like. The gaps are not uniform as well. Should I return?

As another member mentioned can you feel a difference? And most importantly imo can you feel a distracting difference when you use the device? If it’s fine when using I personally wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve seen some in the stores that are really bad and uncomfortable to hold in the hand.

Something cool here. Looks like Zack wanted to see if the titanium was Grade 5 and if the aluminum was recycled.

Turns out the titanium is grade 5 and the aluminum is recycled as Apple claims. This was done in a lab. Then he heated the frame up to 2000 degrees to melt the aluminum and separate it from the titanium.

Personally I couldn’t believe you could heat the titanium frame to a fiery 2000 degrees and the frame looked like new with its coloured PVD coating intact! I didn’t not expect that! Also the buttons are titanium as well as the USB-C insert…

That was interesting!

Is anybody finding that although their edges feel smooth when they swipe from right to left on the left edge of the phone just below halfway they feel a ‘scratchy feeling’?

My phones edges feel fine when checking but I do notice this scratchy feeling when doing this swiping gesture.

Retail and Genius Bar are instructed to capture every iPhone returned due to a defect complaint from customers during a launch, they do care, and are actively look for emerging issues. It will change.
I doubt that. Apple employees that process returns mainly just choose “buyer’s remorse” when selecting reason for return…

Yeah. It’s scratchy. All of the models in Apple Store are.
I noticed the same. All pro models are scratchy, more or less. But it feels cheap, ugly... like a cheese grater..or mandoline... I ordered my 15 PM and am really thinking about cancelling

It should also collect a lot of dust, especially with the darker colors.
I would say it will collect skin, dirt and everything worst... it is a scandal, they give customers a product like that. I will wait, open my 15 PM and if its scratchy, I immediately send it back..!

Nope. If the customer says it has an issue outside of buyers remorse, they have a capture process shortly after launching a new process. Engineering actually does want to look for emerging issues. Unless they’ve changed it recently, this is how it’s always been.

YOu can not accept sth like that in a "premium" product, can You? Its ridiculous
There is a simple solution, entirely free, to the entire problem. Just don't buy the phone. Your problem is solved. To buy something you don't like, then complain about the product, makes little sense. The best way to get companies attention is to not buy their product.

On my phone there is no gap. Did I get lucky? I don't think so. Any time there are millions of devices manufactured there are bound to be a few that have flaws. Either exchange the device under the 14 day return policy, or get the device fixed under the one year warranty.

I buy Apple products since 2007.
I have learned, that Apple means Quality.iPhone Pro Max 256Gb for 1449 Euro (it is around 1516 Dollars, thats what we pay here in Europe) CANNOT HAVE CHEAP, SHARP UNCOMFORTABLE EDGES and mismatched glass on the back. If somebody say, it does not matter, must be an idiot. End of discussion.

There are not few. ALL of them. Have You been to some Apple Store. Check it yourself. There must be a huge problem with Quality. I cannot believe it is such a design

I’m from the UK. My 15 Pro does not have sharp edges. The issue is real for some owners, I have never said it isn’t. Your manic ranting about a product you do not even own to fuel the fire of discontent on a forum you’ve just joined is highly suspicious. Just saying. Have a great day.

I got mine on launch day, 256gb White Titanium Pro zero issues.

Yep first few weeks after launch there is that capture process even if you are returning it as change of mind or DOA or other issues. Then they hand it over to the genius specialist who then will send it off to the right department for further inspection.
