I knew some stock has been in the US all this time.
Everyone on the order forum is saying that they all come from China.
Last time I ordered the Mac Mini, on launch day it arrived via FedEx Ground from nearby Fontana/Ontario, CA warehouse.
Wonder how the USPS Sure Post is handling the shipments = local only ??
Interesting. That’s a good question as well. I ordered my iPhone through AT&T over the phone and not from the Apple website. So AT&T probably has a good stock of iPhones waiting to ship. I’m guessing that’s most likely why mine is not showing up leaving China etc. as far as the USPS, they’ve lost so many of my Amazon packages that I don’t know if I would want them handling a iPhone delivery lol.

I ordered direct from VZW mainly because I wanted to ensure it flagged on my CC as a bonus category purchase. Anyway, I did receive a UPS 'shipped' notification with expected delivery of 9/16 but of course all it has is 'label created' with no additional information. I have a feeling I won't see any other update until Thursday.
Yes they don’t get released into the stores for the general public until the 16th. So they have to hold them for delivery. No one can get theirs early. it has always been that way. Most of the local warehouses and Apple stores etc. already have all of these phones in their back room for sale and pick up. Do you remember when everybody used to camp out in front of the Apple store to get the new phone on launch day? everybody that sells the iPhone will have the iPhone early to get the proper labels put on them for shipment etc. and for in-store pick up
How is T-Mobile allowed to open sealed shipping containers/cases/cartons to pull out individual phones?

I'm in the same boat - not going to be home on delivery day. I see the package in UPS My Choice in a 'Label Created' status with tracking number. The only delivery change option available is to 'Leave With Neighbor' (nope!). Other options to redirect to UPS Customer Center/UPS Access Point, send to another address, release signature, or change delivery date/time are unavailable 'due to restrictions placed on the package by the sender'. 😬
If UPS deems a package high value they want to make a visit to the premise or you visit UPS store.
I order two iPhones. One directly from Apple and one from Verizon. I can see both packages have shipped through UPS My Choice. However, the Verizon package shows signature required while the Apple one does not. Just curious if other people are seeing signature required on their UPS tracking page or not.

Yes. Signature required for mine from T-Mobile even though I have a standing signature release.
I’d love to know how mine is getting to me. It stalled in ZhengZhou, then arrived today.
EDIT - UPS ran a single flight from CGO today… was the Weihei flight number previously (UPS 175).
On its way to Anchorage, then hopefully Worldport (based on my disaster last year in Indy).

Well, I had to use UPS My Choice to schedule a pickup at a UPS store, even if it means the possibility of Saturday. My Apple Card somehow auto-input my old mailing address. Apple couldn’t update the shipping address - the only option they gave me was to cancel the order and reorder. I wasn’t doing that! I was able to pay UPS $5.99 and have the phone shipped to a pick up point near my new address. Still showing a Friday delivery. Hope I got it early enough. Beats a reorder though.
This happened to people last year.
Apple Card + Wallet have different addresses - and diff emails - if you don’t manually sync.
and FedEx is zero tolerance to change… UPS too I guess.
Sounds familiar. I remember being surprised I had to sign for the one I ordered from Verizon last year, since I’m pretty sure I never had to sign for the ones from Apple.
Ok, so sounds like I won’t have to sign for Apple then which is awesome. I ordered a MacBook through apple before and didn’t have to sign so I’m not surprised. Verizon is ridiculous with their requirements. You have to sign, can’t have it held at a UPS location until UPS has made 3 attempts to deliver it, and those attempts have to be on a Monday-Friday. In the past I wouldn’t get my phone till the Wednesday after launch because of this.
