Lol yeah its not the most best looking display out there but it gets the job done!

Regarding the cable managment, wow,i mean, i saw the Celldweller studio video and my cable problem is like the 0.1% off all that! so thats totatlly a valid point! i also saw on an older post this image by flyproductions, and i would really love to have something like this, but given the nature of having everything fixated might be also not so comfortable when upgradint parts or components. But yeah totally worth it

Yeah... Celldweller has a ton of equipment and patch cables lol. The guy is truly a massive talent, and I wish I had his capacity as a musician. Been a fan of his since maybe 2005-ish? His hair has NEVER changed, btw

I've seen that kind of sleeving (in your mentioned pic) used before, just never touched it myself. I have always wanted to get something like that for a home desktop setup, essentially having a desktop set of cables so abused cables stay in the travel bag lol. I'd say to do something like this for your primary cables, and just live with the fact that not all cables will be plugged in at all times... just try to somewhat hide your loose ends so they aren't noticeable? Probably the easiest, if not most appealing, way to manage this issue lol

Very nice looking. I see dust around plant pot. Hope poster has air circulation machine to help collection. 7,1 can suck in dust like vacuum cleaner especially sitting on floor.

Dude, that mood lighting…. I love seeing someone who's set up their work space with some proper RGB lighting to set the tone for work. Such an underrated way of working. When I get myself a good studio to squat in, I'm definitely decking it out with all the lights I can so I never feel like leaving lol. In my bedroom, I have an RGB bulb for this exact reason… except for less serious uses >.>

Hey, I know this is a 7,1 setup show off... but I see some older pros here and I'm just so proud of this build!

It's an inherited Nehelem early 2009 mac pro, base everything, and when it couldn't be updated anymore in 2015 it was put in storage. But for the past couple months I've been restoring it! Flashed to 5,1, got it running Mojave with an MSI Rx 580 8gb, upgraded the original 3 gb of ram to 24gb of corsair vengeance. Got some sabrent ssd mounts for 2 crucial ssds in the sleds, a barracuda hdd and a micro connectors pcie to m.2 nvme adapter with heatsink to use an nvme drive to boot off of. Wifi and bluetooth doesn't work but I just wired some ethernet to my room which is better anyways. I'm so glad to see it running again and is a great editing and development machine for me. Also the nvme had rgb so I matched up the colors haha. So glad to be back in the mac world! Not the most powerful mac pro restoration ever, but there is lots of memories with this machine and this is enough for me. and don't worry, the side panel went right back on. I just wanted to show off the upgrades :) Couldn't do it without the help of this forum. Maybe in 10 years I can upgrade to a 2019 mac pro! Haha

I'm a former filmmaker/colorist now in environmental science. I still love working with the local broadcasting companies and other filmmakers making shorts and documentaries. Anything that is commissioned to be broadcast or projected I use Premiere Pro 2020 and After Effects, and anything that will be online-only I use Final Cut Pro since the turnaround is quicker. As for the scientific side, I love xCode and apple's terminal, so I work in that the most as well as with laTeX for document preparation. I hope that answers your question!

Could you please post the make and model of your keyboard? Thanks in advance ?
It's a wired Corsair K60 RGB (I think mine is from around 2016? Corsair still makes them I'm sure). It's a gaming keyboard, but it has full mechanical keys and is very compact so I use it for everything. And the RGB is nice :)

I'm in the process of doing a new desk for my home office, carpenter working on it. I did a quick sketchup, comments are welcomed. Stay tuned.

I would be worried about knocking the mac off the pedestal, unless it’s next to a wall.
Nice images, did you model the mac/display yourself.
