I see you had some loose change after purchasing the 7.1

Why do you have the Mac Pro on the desktop, rather than under the desk to reduce the noise? Or is it like wearing short-sleaved shirts so that everyone can see your Rolex?
Do you like it on top or on bottom? It's a good question actually. At the moment, I've got some iMacs that have peripherals plunged into the USB ports on the back of the monitor ~ for data transfers. From what I can tell, the XDR doesn't allow this for it's USB ports. Therefore, I may end up sliding it on top as I still need those handy and stable. I'm sure there are some double entendres in there - but not intentional

As I mentioned it is my home office, so no one else will see it. The reasons are it makes the ports more accessible for plugging stuff in, I have plenty of room on my desk, there is no noticeable noise, and my dog likes it under the desk.

Placing a tower on the ground can cause more dust/pet hair intake than if it were several inches off the floor or even on the desk surface. Based on the image, I can't see much floor space the person could use without jamming their legs into it every time they sat down.

And most importantly..."Mutual caring relationships require kindness and patience, tolerance, optimism, joy in the other's achievements, confidence in oneself, and the ability to give without undue thought of gain."

Would you want to show off your Rolex as well?

If I had one, maybe. You have to admit, at least part of the point of buying such things is the desire to show them off. If not to others, than to ourselves. I have a Swiss Military watch I purchased at Sams Club after getting my very first "real job" out of college. I still wear that watch to this day, both because I am proud of the ability to be able to afford it and mostly for what it represented at that time in my life. I would love to be a professional that could and would need a Mac Pro, but alas, I am not. If I were though, I would rock it on top of my desk for both reasons I mentioned about my watch.

I use my system primarily for coding and YouTube tutorials and find the font size at the default resolution perfect for me and my aging eyes. I have not noticed any ghosting but haven't really searched for signs of it.

That thing is inside his house. You know, I would like to see it next to my monitor if I have one. It looks really nice. Nobody total strangers are going to come his house and looking at his Rolex.

As per my first post in this thread: mine's on my desk as well. There's no noise coming from it, I have enough room on the desk for it, and my two Labradors like to curl up under my desk when I'm working. Anyone familiar with Labs knows what they do 24/7/365: shed. Constantly. That means there's always fur in the carpet under my desk in between visits with the vacuum. And that fur will get snorfled up by the Mac or any other computer on the floor. No. Thanks!

I have to clean cat hair out of my 2013 nMP every two months. It would be so much worse if the computer sat under the desk...
