I feel like I'm the odd one out in this crowd... I have limited space in my Mac/Man Cave... Not sure where I will find the room for our new MP7,1 when it arrives in a few weeks time... I do have an increasing pile of stuff ready to be installed into it, that I have to take care not to knock it all over as the pile grows higher and higher... ;) 👍;) I need the MP7,1's wheels as I have to move things around constantly.:p

My new goal in life is to have a room in my house like this.

Does your CPU run so hot it needs an emergency fire extinguisher handy at all times?!?

Trash can still running strong in my jungle of a home. We'll be ordering the 7,1 for our production company in the coming weeks, but the 6,1 has been serving well for work-from-home duties. Our shop has been running iMac Pros for the last couple of years and we can't wait to start transitioning back to the towers.

Guess I'm more of a minimalist than other folks here :)

It reeks of productivity! And very nice desk!
Facing the door is an old managers trick.

p.s. Is the tissue for when PP crashes and you lose an hour of work?

Great vibe in the room!
I think the metal arm of your chair is scraping the drawer when you move it.

well spotted, Yeah it does :-( not much I can do about that apart from a new chair I guess but its take 3 years to do that much damage so not too bad.

It comes in white.

I've tidied up a bit.... but my MP7,1 gets to go to Client locations so have to be able to wheel it out of my man cave at times. I've cleared the desk so I can at least have my 15" MBP13,3 at hand as it's the Mac I use for Mail, Photos, Notes etc with my Apple ID setup for iCloud sharing. I do not burden my MP7,1 with the likes of Apple ID and all the crud that it bring along. ;)

Small recording studio, music and film production.

Mac Pro.jpeg. Dell T7910.jpeg.

Both Win Pro for Workstations 1909 and Mac OS Catalina 10.15.3. The Dell T7910 still outperforms the mac pro by far for 4k film work with DaVinci Resolve Studio (24 core /dual Xeons & RTX 2080Ti) but the fans are certainly nosier. Nor does FCPX yet compete on Mac OS. Cores and GPU can be easily maxxed and monitored on Win, not so on Mac OS /Vega II. More to come with updates for all that I'd say.

Amps & Dell 9575.jpeg

While the mac isn't so good for film NLEs (yet), its certainly nicer, smoother with DAWs, audio plugs & VIs. Nuendo, Wavelab, Ableton Live, Logic etc. Mac OS lost Pro Tools 2019.6 & Waves v9 being able to run & so I continue to run those on Win 1909 (perfect backward compat there). The two sync up quite nicely with house word clock at 48Khz, Resolve on the PC with an LTC track and Nuendo on mac slaving to that.

Been really digging my 7,1 setup. Used primarily for video production, broadcast TV, broadcast audio and light color work. I also have it setup to share my 32tb SSD video server over Thunderbolt optical to 4 other workstations, 10GBe to a 5,1. I'm quite impressed with the performance. I have it driving 4 displays, there's a TV near the client couch behind cam.

I've been loving the Pro Display XDR. It's breathtaking.
