Thanks for the answer. For my old account I used Google sign in so I went into my Google account and removed it from there.
I wasn't so lucky, I have submitted a request to have my account deleted.

Quick question: so if I already have a McDonald’s account, how do I switch this one over to SIWA? It’s been easy with other apps but I don’t see anything in settings?
Almost all the big fast food chains now have an app so you can order and pay from your phone. One needs to create an account to do that.
Wendy’s
Burger King
Chick fil-a
McDonald’s
Five Guys
Really?! it’s been easy for you?! none of the services I use have made it any easier.
Definitely not all apps but some have been easy! For example, I do recall the following recent apps were relatively easy converting existing accounts to SIWA: IMDB, Jurassic World Alive, and Call of Duty.
But you’re right. Many apps are still difficult.
Same here! Finding it difficult to delete accounts from the multiple services I’ve signed up for that now offer SIWA.Really?! it’s been easy for you?! none of the services I use have made it any easier.
The whole point of Sign In with Apple is the anonymity. If you’re either merging or switching from your old account then you’re giving up on that. I’m not sure if it gains us anything at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You’re right. I really haven’t kept up to date on this thread so the point of privacy has glossed over me a bit. I wish there was an elegant want to merge accounts while retaining anonymity. Looks like I’ll have some tough decisions to make.
I’ve been doing this but suddenly hit a roadblock with my grocery app (Kroger). My dilema is if I chose to use SIWA and delete my account with the grocery, then I won’t reap the benefits offered by the grocery store card, i.e. discounted prices and gas points. That’s kind of by definition impossible. If what makes up your identity on that website and was previously associated with a known email address is now linked to your so called “anonymous“ email, then your “anonymous“ new account is now known to be associated with your previous identity that can be tracked via your known real email. Not so anonymous.
I’ve gone through all my websites and honestly, I overestimated how many of my accounts had anything worth keeping. The overwhelming majority turned out to be completely disposable.
Sure, some sites like Etsy, eBay and Wish had a history of my past purchases, but so what? No real value in keeping that. SoundCloud, I had a bunch of tracks I had liked and artists I followed. Easy enough to copy them over to a new account. I had a few food apps that had some accumulated points. When I did the math, those points were worth a couple of bucks altogether. My privacy is worth more than that.
My goal is to eventually have no account passwords. I went through my Keychain and was able to delete about a third of it after converting accounts to Sign In With Apple and deleting defunct websites or sites I signed up for single use. I look forward to a near future when my face is the only password I’ll ever need.
This is what’s confusing me so much. Does linking an existing account to SIWA (hide email) defeat the purposes of privacy or not? With the new UPS SIWA option, you have the ability to link a current account with Apple, which I did.
From what I can tell, the email is still hidden. When I logged in just now, I could see that Apple was using the AppleID site as part of the SIWA process. This is what’s confusing me so much. Does linking an existing account to SIWA (hide email) defeat the purposes of privacy or not?
How could you tell or check? Just want to know how to do it from my end. From what I can tell, the email is still hidden. When I logged in just now, I could see that Apple was using the AppleID site as part of the SIWA process.

Thanks for the post.UPS implementation turns out to be very shady. If you link your preexisting account then it works, but you've technically gained nothing.
On the other hand if you create a new SIWA UPS account then they force you to create a password, and give your email. Here you could copy the hidden SIWA email and add, but the password allows for an attack vector.
iPedro has said a lot about the privacy aspects of SIWA throughout this thread, and I completely agree. What's been talked less about is security. SIWA greatly enhances security, when implemented correctly. Many websites do not offer things like 2 factor authentication. It's a password and that's it. SIWA requires 2 factor authentication. When an account can only be logged into using SIWA it's much more secure than a regular email + password account.
When accounts allow for linking to SIWA but still allow for the password sign in, then all the security advantages (in addition to privacy talked about by iPedro) are lost. For the account to have ultimate online security + convenience it must only offer SIWA, not password + SIWA.
Correct. I would not use SIWA with Kroger. They are violating the purpose of SIWA. They are doing that because they sell your information to others.@BasicGreatGuy so let me see if I’m doing this SIWA correctly and understanding it.
With the Kroger app, I choose SIWA and hide my email. So far so good and it logs me in. Then it brings me to another screen asking me to link the account I already with them by entering my user email and password.
I’m guessing that last part is a no-no and they (Kroger) didn’t implement the SIWA too well?
Damn! Looks like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place with them.Correct. I would not use SIWA with Kroger. They are violating the purpose of SIWA. They are doing that because they sell your information to others.

So everyone here creating fresh new SIWA accounts (non merging), are you also actively closing old accounts in the process as well?
I have. I’ve been going through my iCloud Keychain to see what accounts I’ve got opened, then go to the respective websites and delete it directly or request it. Most website have obliged and honored my request. Others I haven’t heard back from, e.g. Chegg which could be from a lack of staff re: COVID-19; other websites have said they’ve deleted it but strangely enough I can still login to the site, e.g. Redbox; and AirBnb told me it would take some time to delete which I don’t understand so they “deactivated“ it instead for the time being which to me doesn’t instill confidence. So everyone here creating fresh new SIWA accounts (non merging), are you also actively closing old accounts in the process as well?
