We’re 1 month away from the deadline. After June 30th, every app that is submitted for an update must include Sign In With Apple if it also offers Facebook, Google, Twitter or other social sign ins.

Every app on our outstanding list, including the most stubborn, will have to have it implemented in a month.

We experienced a rush of apps adding Sign In With Apple approaching the original April 30 deadline. We’re probably going to see the same in the coming weeks.

Check your existing apps by signing out and checking the sign in options and please add to the Wiki if you find anything new.

I mean unless they let us hide the email address I don’t see much point.

As far as I can tell, complying with the privacy feature has been nearly unanimous. I can only think of 2 or 3 apps that don’t out of the well over 100 that we’ve documented here.

If I decide I want to use Pinterest or eBay, I’ll just create my own forwarding email address to stand in for Apple’s relay email and input that in when registering. The password free login system of Sign In With Apple remains and I’ll have my privacy another way, preventing them tracking me.

Tinder has Sign In With Apple

They do require you to confirm your real email. I imagine this may be for safety purposes. Untrackable anonymity and dating might not be a good idea.

Would making "Available", "Top Outstanding Apps", and "Apps that have removed all social sign ins" collapsible be a good idea like this? The post is so long.

It's a good problem to have. We started off this thread with just 2 apps. 😬

Let me see what I can do.

I went ahead and added the spoilers. The list was getting rather long (which is great!) so this makes it easier to scan through. :)

MyFitnessPal has added Sign In With Apple

This is a pretty big app and was in our Top Outstanding Apps, now moved into the available list.

I’m keeping an eye on a bunch of apps. They’ve got less than a month now so we should probably start seeing a rush of updates over the next few weeks.

I noticed V LIVE is not on the list. V LIVE has SIWA for 2 months now.

(V LIVE is a famous video/live streaming app in Asia)

I think for apps that offers in-app purchases, or sending money/receiving money, it would be understandable if the developer requires you to use real email address. In a fraud & risk perspective.

Well, this one is unusual.

TikTok was one of the first to add Sign In With Apple, and now they’re the first to remove Facebook apps’ sign ins.

WhatsApp as a sign in has already been removed and Instagram is being phased out. You can still sign in but not sign up with IG and users who have signed up with IG are being asked to migrate to a different sign in method.

Hopefully this catches on. I’d love to see the internet and developers shun Facebook.

Periscope has added Sign In With Apple support.

This one is notable because it’s owned by Twitter. They’re excepted from following the rule given that their own social login is their own, but they went ahead and offered it anyway alongside Facebook and Google.

It would appear that Kroger is being sketchy (why would I ever assume otherwise?) with their SIWA.

You can currently link a Kroger account within the app to a SIWA account.

However, you do not appear to be able to create a new account using SIWA, you must enter in your name, email, and password.. I guess you could still just copy and paste the SIWA private relay email, but a password is still required.

IMO one of the benefits of SIWA is removing the password vector. If an account has email/password access plus SIWA there is now two potential attack vectors, with email/password being the easiest. Although email/password might be fairly secure, one of my goals is not only to be more anomalous but to enhance security of my accounts.
Being anomalous is always good.

_______________________________

In the weeks leading up to the original April 30th deadline, we saw a sudden flurry of updates from major apps. It’s starting to look like that’s happening again now, as the June 30th deadline approaches.

Still, there are a bunch of stubborn, widely used apps that have held back, namely Yelp, OpenTable, Evernote, Quora, Zoom, Evite, Duolingo and even Apple’s own Shazam. I look forward to scratching those off the list at the end of the month.

I just did a merge of apps from a friend's list. Added a couple of dozen of apps that support Sign In With Apple.

It's a reminder that while we're here watching major apps and apps that we personally use, there are apps being updated in the background that we just don't know about. This list is probably multiple times larger than the ones we know about.

After all, in a matter of just 20 days, EVERY APP in the App Store with social sign ins will have to support Sign In With Apple. Websites and their respective apps that use Facebook sign ins number in the tens of thousands. By the end of this month, Sign In With Apple will have gone from an unknown new feature to massive adoption in less than a year.

I can't believe yelp hasn't added it yet, although I'd rather Apple Maps remove their yelp integration entirely.

I was going to pull the trigger the other week on our implementation... but now we're so close to WWDC, I wonder if we should just wait to see if anything changes. The web-interaction isn't ideal.
