I can now see the sign in with apple on Etsy's website. Must have been a staged rollout or something but appears to be live now (for me).

Yep I can see it on the website as well, still nothing on my app.

edit: deleted and redownloaded and it’s showing now

I emailed Etsy, to find out if they plan to offer switching accounts to the Sign in with Apple. Hopefully we will be able to switch, otherwise I will be deleting my account and creating a new one.

Spotify's help section suggests that SIWA is available (link). I cannot find the option in the app. Someone else more lucky? Maybe its region based?

Come the deadline, I am curious to see if Apple does indeed have the balls to stand by their original ultimatum and block app updates that don't support said feature.

They're not blocking any apps. That would remove a ton of legacy apps. They'll only be accepting app updates and new apps built on the iOS 13 SDK which includes Sign In With Apple. Developers simply won't be able to submit apps built on an older development kit.

The same was done with previous SDK's where apps had to have been built with support for newer iPhone screen sizes. At some point, app updates built with old SDK's couldn't be submitted so developers had to get on with it or their apps couldn't get updated at all.

I do hope that the App Store gains an filter. The best way to let developers know what the downloader wants, is to ignore the apps that don't fit your wishes. No SIWA, no download.

I bet Apple will create a story in the App Store promoting Sign In With Apple once it has a wide rollout in April.

I’m not sure they’ll need to filter out those without it since it’ll be mandatory. Bigger developers with their own login system that don’t include social sign ins are typically some of the must have apps like YouTube and Google’s other suite of apps, Uber, Instagram, etc

Consider leaving a firm, yet polite App Store review for apps that do not support Sign In With Apple. Developers *do* read these and if they read enough of them, they’ll feel compelled to add it — or at least it’ll get it on their radar.

This is my review for TED Talks:

Has anyone had issues using SIWA on the web but not in apps? For example, I deleted my zillow account and created a SIWA account. I am having success using the SIWZ in app but not web..

I don’t see it either. Perhaps it’s rolling out gradually.

About Spotify: It's now live on the Sign in page. :)

Edit:

When I use SIWA to create a new account, I get the option to use my own e-mail for the account or to hide my e-mail address. (The way SIWA works)

If I want to use my own e-mail address, I can click on it and I will see a list with multiple addresses. Not only my @me.com(main) and @iCloud(alias), but also e-mail addresses that I have not used for years. Those accounts were once created purely for temporary use. They were all Apple ID's though.

How can Apple know that I owned all those accounts? I didn't make a link. How do I clean up that list? Anyone have an idea?

Likely the old emails are contained in your Apple ID.

They were independent accounts. Otherwise I would have created an alias. Still weird. I actually deleted two of those accounts via Apple. So why link to something that does not exist at all. Anyway, I will just contact Apple and otherwise put this in a separate topic.

We're one month away from Sign In With Apple being made mandatory for all app updates. Once this goes into effect, any apps submitting updates will have to be built with the iOS 13 SDK (which includes SIWA) or it won't be accepted. It might take months after that for apps with slow update cycles to comply.

So don't be surprised if every app you use doesn't have Sign In With Apple in April and don't think that means that Apple isn't being strict. Eventually, all apps that are in active development will have to release updates at some point, no matter how small. And at that point, they'll have to include Sign In With Apple.

Foursquare shot themselves in the foot by splitting the most popular feature of their hugely successful app into Swarm, a brand nobody recognized. And rather than revert back when it didn’t work, they stuck to it. That said, I like the Foursquare app way more than Yelp. Sign In With Apple got me to download the app and get a new account.

I tried to sign in with apple on Foursquare but it asks me to create new account by adding my email and password. Am I missing something? Doesn't this defeats the whole purpose of SIWA?

I’ve removed MacRumors from the list. You can associate your account with Sign In With Apple but there is no sign in button and you still have to log in with an email address and password.

This is not Sign In With Apple and is not compliant with Apple’s detailed requirements. If it were an app, it would not be approved.

@arn, please feel free to clarify.

Yeah. We haven’t turned it on yet for new registrations.
