I keep rechecking this thread hoping for new updates, but it seems that developers are extremely slow to update and implement SIWA.

Unless Apple grants an extension, given recent events, we’re going to start seeing a parade of apps supporting Sign In With Apple in the coming month. The deadline is currently set for April 30th.

Yup, there it is....

On the other hand, we're so close to the original deadline that developers who had been planning on adding Sign In With Apple are probably in the final stages of completing it and are going to launch it anyway if they're working from home as most developers are able to.

As much as I’d like to believe that, some services might be in trouble because of decline in staff due to illness and also changing a login mechanism in certain cases aren’t as easy, so they might need to make drastic business decisions which will give these services some more time to breath. I’m actually glad Apple delayed it.

But think about it, if changing login mechanisms isn’t easy, then they must’ve been working on it before all of this happened. They weren’t going to wait for the final month before it was due to work on it.

Whatever developers were working on has been with the assumption of the iOS 13 SDK and they’re not going to go back and work with the old SDK if they had already started preparing for the new one.

I’m sure we’ll see exception where smaller developers use the additional time but larger companies have roadmaps that don’t just start a month before changes are due. Whether the deadline was extended doesn’t have much of an effect because they were already en route to delivering the updates.

Zoom is in the news for sending user data to Facebook every time you open the app.

This is of course the perfect demonstration of why Sign In With Apple is important.

Zoom falls in the requirements for adding Sign In With Apple given that they allow signing in with Google and Facebook.

Zoom has updated the apps in then. But yes you’re right. Luckily we use SSO for zoom.

IFTTT and Spotify are now supporting Sign in with Apple.

However, I am still waiting for imdb.

Yes! IFTTT has a great implementation. You go into the settings and link your Apple account. It even lets you hide your email even though you’re linking an existing account with a previously exposed email address.

Medium has also added Sign In With Apple:

So has the New York Times:

Also, Strava:

I’ve also found a dozen little apps from big and small developers like Ritual, Freshii, Fiverr and more that have added Sign In With Apple in the last few days.

There are likely dozens more that we just haven’t discovered yet.

There’s a flood of apps updating with Sign In With Apple support this week. Like I had theorized earlier, even though the deadline was extended, many of these companies weren’t waiting for the last minute to reach the original April deadline before working on adding Sign In With Apple and they should be still on track to releasing it this month.

Duolingo removed Facebook sign in rather than support Sign In With Apple. There’s no way to use Duolingo without giving them your email address.

I've only seen one app which had a switching mechanism, which was CheapCharts. CheapCharts should be a reference app for how to do SIWA.

Etsy has sign in with Apple but no switching, I just deleted my old account and made a new one.
Movies Anywhere has no switching either, I haven't figure out what to do there.
How did you get CheapCharts to link your account? I tried logging in with SIWA and it kept throwing an error telling me to use Apple to sign in... worked when I tried the mail/password variant.

Great news. Sadly Medium seems to have forgotten to add the login button to their website. Is that common with other apps? I also noticed it for IFTTT.

How does Dropbox handle this? The I tried the Apple route, it tried to get me to make a brand new account.

Most services at present do not provide a way to convert an old account into a new Sign In with Apple account. This is my biggest pet peeve at present and I’m not bothering to change all my accounts immediately because of that.

It has been awhile, but I believe that there was an option to connect it or something. I was already signed in and did something in the account settings. I think it was on their webpage as opposed to the app also.. but I don't 100% remember.

I’ve added a bunch more like Grammarly, AliExpress and GrubHub.

The pace at which Sign In With Apple is being added is accelerating as we approach the original April 30 deadline that developers had already started working towards. By the new June 30 deadline, Sign In With Apple will be ubiquitous.

This was well played by Apple. It’s the beginning of the end to usernames and passwords.

That was it, thanks.

For anyone wondering: log into the website of cheapcharts (with your mail/password) and then click on your username at the top, account and change provider to Apple.

Pocket has been sending me almost daily recommendations. When I click unsubscribe, it says I’m already unsubscribed and so I have no control over what additional emails they send me.

I couldn't believe how many emails Pocket sent me after I installed it. That got removed quickly.
