I have been unable to use the “Hide My Email” function when setting up SIWA. Tried multiple services, but it works without issue when I don’t hide my email.
Only thing weird with my account is my App Store AppleID is not an email address and is thus different than my iCloud account.

Anyone else experiencing issues?

It’s really time to start shaming some of the big developers that still don’t support Sign In With Apple despite having many months to prepare.

Some of them are even longtime Apple partners like Nike who have their own Apple Watch, OpenTable that has always integrated into Siri from the beginning and Yelp that is built into Apple Maps. I really wish Apple Maps built their own restaurant review data or used another app like FourSquare.

Let’s shame the big developers into adding Sign In With Apple. You can do this by leaving a one star review and telling them why in the description and calling them out on Twitter and other social media.

Here’s a short list. There’s a longer list on the first page of this wiki

  • NikeRunClub
  • OpenTable
  • Pinterest
  • SoundCloud
  • Yelp
  • Zoom

Publicly shaming big developers prior to the deadline Apple has given them is repugnant behaviour. These developers have done nothing wrong. Should your bank publicly shame you a few weeks before your mortgage payment is due because it wishes you would pay early? Of course not. Take another think about what you are advocating. It is a very sleazy idea.

I have typically gone with the approach of "I really like this xyzzy app, it does a great job at whatever.." Then "It would be even better Sign in With Apple" or "I would really like to see Sign in With Apple."

Developers are already having their apps rejected by Apple for not including Sign In With Apple.

Apple postponed the deadline for app updates to include Sign In With Apple to June 30th but had already stated months ago that new apps would have to comply. It just didn’t seem like this was being enforced until now.

They are not rejecting them. They are stating that they must comply by the deadline.

So why is Apple rejecting apps PRIOR to the deadline they have told developers they must adhere to?

I said so right in the post. NEW apps have had to abide by these rules for months now. Apple just didn’t seem to be enforcing it. App updates have to comply by June 30. Apple now appears to be enforcing the rules for new apps.

Looks like sites like GlassDoor have found a loophole around the privacy of Sign In With Apple. Even if you're signing in with Apple and even if you have used a hidden email, GlassDoor already knows who you are because you had previously signed in to Google and/or Facebook on this computer and there are cookies to pass that info on to them. GlassDoor can then associate your supposed hidden email to your Facebook and Google accounts and continue to track you.

No doubt this is not exclusive to GlassDoor and other developers are or will be doing the same so that they can continue to track you and generate revenue by selling your data. Hopefully Apple closes this loophole.

EDIT: Turning on Prevent Cross-site tracking resolves this loophole.

Calm has introduced Sign In With Apple.

It was in the list of Top Outstanding Apps in this thread for months. We can finally move it out of that list.

Which apps are you looking forward to having Sign In With Apple?

Nice to see more apps supporting SIWA.

I would like to see LinkedIn, Feedly and Quizlet support SIWA. LinkedIn would be mayor for me.

These are all good ones. I just looked at my keychain, I have 214 entries. Some of these are local services such as my router but many are not. I have several medical related accounts that I would love to see offer SIWA, as well as banks, but I doubt we will see that anytime soon - if ever.

Outside of just general acceptance I would like to see many places offer the ability to switch to SIWA, this hasn't seemed to happen often thus far.

Restaurant apps and rewards are also places where SIWA is important.

Are you guys actually getting rid off your old account on all these services and creating new accounts?!

I am mostly trying to migrate my accounts. There are some that I will get rid of. For example I deleted my old Etsy account because I only had like 1 purchase anyway so no big deal to delete. Other accounts would be a significant pain to delete.

I'm currently trying to work out what needs to be done for Movies Anywhere. I am trying to create a new account for that service due to no sufficient migration path.

This is exactly my issue as well. Most services have not thought through a migration process.

I agree, it's very annoying. Few sites even offer it, and fewer offer migration. I hope this changes in the future, but only time will tell and I think that the lack of data will cause many sites to skip SIWA.

In general, if it’s an app whose history is important, I try to preserve my account, but you’ll be surprised how little history matters for the vast majority of apps.

My goal with Sign In With Apple is for individual apps not to be able to tie me to other apps and websites outside the purview of the app in question. So, modifying my log in to Sign In With Apple defeats the purpose because they already knew who I was and I have no doubt they’ll keep my original email on file, now associated with my Apple account.
