Said the same thing Post #34 and #44:D

Kid you hear anything back from sling yet?

Nothing yet, but with any large company with an HR department, coupled with how many different places this job posting was posted, it wouldn't surprise me if there there hundreds if not thousands of Sling fanatics who applied for this position.

Read post #44 :)

Pandora radio app competes with itunes as you can specify an artist and have it play. you dont have to buy from itunes. Shazam - you can hum the song and it will find it and you can play it on your phone no download required.
:D

You can attach a apple tv to a slingplayer and watch all your downloads from apple tv on sling player. This says to me that this could enhance itune sales. Slingplayer is not a direct competitor of itunes. It actually supplements other forms of media by giving you access to it in multiple places.

You are right on. This is what I was saying above in another post. Apple will make money off the 30% , Plus look abouve in one of my other post, the example how apple will benifit from sling on the app store.

Thanks for backing me up MotionxxUSxx:D

No problem, but you will never convince some people on these forums.

is there any chance sony will release an app after playtv comes out for ps3, or is there a better chance of sling releasing theirs

Sling usually sells their player from their own website.

I wonder if they'll jack up the iphone price to make up for the 30% loss via the Apple store.

good Question, I hope not, but if they did, to come out like they do for the other sling apps. they would sell it for $42.50 to come close to the original price of $29.99. it works it self out to the tune of $29.75 per app proffit for sling.

I would pay it though, to be able to stream my live tv to my awesome iPhone

Don't get me wrong, I aboslutely love the phone too but that's cause I realize it's potential. As it is now, it nits current state, I can only say it's a love hate relationship. My problems lie with Apple and their management. I just really hope that some good competition starts to sprout to make Apple step up to the plate, cause right now the lack of one REAL solid contender and the lack of competition is making Apple really lazy and is allowing them to have their way with us. I'm just paraying that the Dream is truly a dream - Apple would give us everything we've been asking for, and probably do it overnight. It would leave all the die-hard iphone loyalists scratching their heads asking, "why didn't they give this to us before?". I have to agree with the other poster though, until then, Slingbox will most likely never make an appearence (or anything that competes with iTunes for that matter).

I concur. We need some competition here to wake Apple up. I am a huge Apple supporter and I expect them to amaze me! :apple:

any one know how to build apps for the app store? wanna go work for sling? if so apply and get hired so we can have this wonderful app on our iphones.:D

So I saw a commercial for AT&T TV last night. Is this something that would work on iPhone? I wonder if that's why Apple is slow to get the Sling app going....

All that i know is that if Sling makes you pay for the iphone app like they make you pay for the Windows mobile version, I will sell my slingbox and never recommend the slingbox ever again. Its pathetic that they make you pay for the software.

I wouldn't mind paying for the app. I only payed $65 for my slingbox so I guess the money that they charge for the app will make up what I didnt pay for my box. :D

It is a little annoying, yes.

I don't mind paying some, but I think there should be a discount for multiple devices in one home.

So far I've paid for two players ($60 !!) for use around the house on WinMo phones.

Although I think you can move the license to a new phone and the old one will stop working.

I belive that you are right about moving the license from one windows mobile device to the other, but I am not sure how they will be about moving from one platform to another. I guess we will see though. :D

Helllo....They have to pay pretty good money to pay their software engineers to make said software. It's called an add on enhancement to an existing product.

Yes, That is correct, But i would still rather pay £10 more for the box and not be charged for the software. Its just like hotel internet it ridicules making people to charge to use it.

But why make people who bought it just to sling to their laptop suffer. they have the software for the computer for free, and as an added bounus if you have a compatable phone, you can buy some software and stream it to your phone. basicly this is what you are saying. and correct me if I am wrong.

(way it is now) say sling is priced at $119
Add-on to sling to phone = $30
Total price = $149

(your way) Say sling is Priced at $149
Sling to laptop and phone = Free
Total Price = $149

How is your way fair to the owners of a slingbox who do not own a smartphone/ or dont want to stream to their phone?

I don't understand why people always expect things to be free. How in the world are companies supposed to pay employees if everything is free? One of the great things about the internet is that there are a ton of free apps, but it has also created this atmosphere where free is an expectation.

How true, How true.

They also say you get what you pay for. this is so true in the internet world.
