Tell me the year of your Macbook also look on your logic board just by the fan mount and white dot is the 820-29836-A or B No. I think you have quoted the DCin No.

I have a 2009 macbook pro that just died on me, i have been searching for a free
820-2565-A BOARDVIEW
More and more i am finding that this is a number related to the dc in board however it is clearly printed on the main board. Confused.com
Is this not the actual board number?
My machine won't power up, looks like there is a blown white surface mount fuse near the display connector. One side measures a short to ground. I'm a bit stuck without the board view.
[doublepost=1490196894][/doublepost]Well here is the board view for $4.42 for the above numbered logic board

L
ooks like this is not the correct boardview for 820-2565-a

It is the wrong shape.
Where can i find the number for the logic board? This is really starting to piss me off!

Hello guys!

I have recently replaced my macbook pro's (A1425) retina screen, and in doing so I appear to have misconnected or damaged the battery or battery controller board upon reassembly.

I have tried to reset the SMC, clean the interposer, etc and nothing seems to solve it. How would you guys go about troubleshooting this?

Thanks!

Hi,

I know this is for MBP apparently, but I'm wondering if the same would apply to the White Unibody Macbook.

A friend of mine gave me a 2009/2010 (not sure which one) White Unibody Macbook because it "died".
Actually I saw it working a couple of days ago, but he said that all of the sudden he couldn't turn it on.
It appears that the Magsafe light was blinking, although not periodically, randomly.

I've tried swapping the battery and the charger, as well as SMC reset (hold "power + lshift + lcontrol + loption" for 10sec).
After that the magsafe light may turn on green for a few seconds, before slowly fading to off.
I think it goes to off if I try to turn on the mac, but I'm not sure.

I also tried the "SMC bypass" method but it does not boot this anymore.
I measured 12V between the square pad of the battery connector, and the last 3 pins of it (on the back of the logic board there are solder pads, one square -actually a rectangle-, followed by a bunch of oval pads)
Is that enough to rule out the battery?

However, since this broke all of the sudden without any intervention, I'm thinking something battery related is more likely, it would be weird that the failure came from fuse or other active/passive component, right?

How do I look for corrosion signs?

There are 144 pages for this thread so I did not read them all yet, so I'm wondering if this rings a bell to people following this thread.

Thanks in advance,

Hello,

I am looking for help for my repair of a liquid spilled damaged logicboard from a MD101 Macbook (820-3115).

If I plug in the charger the green light and orange light goes on. The battery is charging properly I. But it doesnt start if I hit the power button or try to short PWR_on signal with GND.

I dont know if there is something wrong with the start-up chain as there could be some corrosion I obviously dont see.

While I was checking the different voltages I also came to the BATLOW_L signal. When I was holding the probe tip of the RCL or even just a pure metall of a pair of tweezer on the solder joint the Macbook start suddenly.

Everything is running fine then. I can boot into the OSX and it shows no odd behavior at all. Until I shut it off because it wouldnt turn on again until I get in contact with thr BATLOW_L signal again. Very weird.

What I also did is measuring the resistance from BATLOW_L to 3.3V. It shows about 20k but should be about 100k. I already replaced Q5040 and U7940, no change. I am afraid the SMC or the MCP is dead.

I already pulled the BATLOW_L signal strong to 3.3V with about 5k resistor. If I do so the Macbook starts perfectly with PWR On button. But always when I plug in the charger the Macbook starts also which I dont want.

Can anyone of you cracks help me out?

Thanks so much!!

PROBLEM SOLVED!
-----SORRY ABOUT BOTHERING YOU FOLKS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED. IT IS A NORMAL BEHAVIOR IF BATTERY IS LOW. THE MACBOOK IS RUNNING FINE.---

But I got another problem I like to solve with a logicboard of a macbook pro model 2011.

If I try to start the logicboard the fan runs shortly and it shuts off immediately. Is is only a fraction of a second. I got no idea where to look at is best. I thought it is one of the power rails shorted or a dcdc is not running normal but I have some doubts. I am pretty sure it must come from somewhere else. I am not able to run the board in the SMC bypass mode I like to mention.

Thank you,
Mario

Hello,

First of all I want to apolagize for my english, not my native language.

I have a problem with the Macbook Air mid 2013. I can only turn on it when I do SMC by shutting it down and holding the power button. After all, it works normally until I turn it off again, so i can not turn it on without the SMC reset. The battery is normally charged. There are no traces of water, corrosion or any physical damage. They can not catch the Logic board and do not know where the SMC chip is located. If somebody can help me with the advice.

Hi Guys,
wich woltage must have the PPBUS_G3H in a Macbook Air 13?
I can mesure just 8.35v, on the schematic is 12.8v.

Why have I just 8.35 (with and without Battery).

Any help?
On Macbook air you get 8.5 V so your reading id right

Hi guys,

Bringing this thread back to live I'd like your hint and help to bring my MBP 2010 back to live also.
I found a board view that matches the board: LB#820-2327 Macbook_13_A1278_M97.
Symptoms:
Dimed green light on charger
With battery it starts pressing power button
With battery it also starts bypassing SMC
battery indicator works: 2 lights on
3.3V hot ok
If battery removed
3.3V are there at the terminals to bypass SMC
MBP won't start pressing power button
MBP won't start with SMC bypass method.

Charger, like I said has a very very dim green light which turns blinking orange after 5 to 10 minutes.

All was tested by Apple service but they say it needs a new digi-board. I read pretty much 50% if this thread and I believe you could help me put it to work.
I have a multimeter and electronics skills (but I don't practice in 20 years or so...) and access to SMD components and soldering equipment.

I think I should start on the mosfets and w/o battery. What you think? What are the expected readings in this conditions?

Thanks in advance. looking forward for your feedback

Carlos

Question: Q6910 in the 1-wire circuit has 17V @ S (from PP18V5_DCIN_CONN) but zero at D (PP18V5_DCIN_ONEWIRE). Is this normal and is due to the fact SMC_BC_ACOK is zero ?

This macbook (820 2915 early 2011 15") was previously liquid spilled. That caused the keyboard to fail. Replacing it fixed everything for 2 months. Suddenly it started to not charge ( no green light) with original 85w charger but it did charge with 60w charger for a while, then it stopped. The only way to obtain green light is to unplug the battery and, to let it charge, plug the battery suddenly in. This let the battery charge. The board was ceaned several times with alcool and i couldn't recognize any corrosion (maybe a bit on the battery connector). Do anyone have some suggestion on where to look?

Dear All,
i'm a Macbook a1278 - mptherboard 820-2978 b - that have following problems :
- magsafe connected,green light ( without battery ) mac doesn't start.
- magsafe connected,green light ( with battery ) mac start but no orange light ( no battery charge)
Seems that no water damages.

now using following Dadioh info,

Pin 14 means that the charger is not happy about something. A couple more test points...

Pin 1 - 0V - CHGR_AGATE - Turns on FET to allow DC-in to appear at charger FETS
Pin 2 - 16V - CHGR_DCIN - From magsafe (anywhere from 16 to 18.5V)
Pin 3 - 4V - ACIN - Resistor divider 30K/9.31K (DCIN / 4)
Pin 14 - 3.3V - ACOK - Signal to SMC that charger is happy.
Pin 17/18 - 12.5V - CSOP/CSON - Measured across sense resistor to/from battery
Pin 19/20 - 5V - VDD/VDDP - internally generated 5V supply
Pin 23 - 12.5V - CHGR_PHASE - Output of charger
Pin 27/28 - 16V - CSIP/CSIN - Current Feedback from sense resistor feeding FETS

I've below situation:
Pin 1 - 0V - CHGR_AGATE --> 0V
Pin 2 - 16V - CHGR_DCIN -->16,36 V
Pin 3 - 4V - ACIN - Resistor divider 30K/9.31K (DCIN / 4) -->3,9V
Pin 14 - 3.3V - ACOK - Signal to SMC that charger is happy.-->3.27 V
Pin 17/18 - 12.5V - CSOP/CSON - Measured across sense resistor to/from battery -->11,01V
Pin 19/20 - 5V - VDD/VDDP - internally generated 5V supply -->5,8 V
Pin 23 - 12.5V - CHGR_PHASE - Output of charger -->11,02 V
Pin 27/28 - 16V - CSIP/CSIN - Current Feedback from sense resistor feeding FETS -->16,07V

Do you any suggestion?
Tnx for help :)

I've got a liquid spilled 2011 MacBook Pro that wouldn't charge and the keyboard wouldn't work even after cleaning everything with isopropyl and letting it dry out for a day + hair dryer.
So I replaced the keyboard and the new keyboard works fine but the battery still wouldn't charge on a 60W OEM charger.
Bought a 85W OEM charger and it still wouldn't charge. Tested the battery on another MacBook and the battery does charge (though beyond 1000 cycles still shows as 'normal').

Replaced the charging port and still nothing so I bought a second-hand battery with under 600 cycles and still nothing.
When I power it on with the charger plugged in it shows 'no battery available' and the System Information tool gives back an error on the tab 'power'. If I pull the charger out it keeps going for a few seconds with the screen off then dies.

Tried battery reset Shift+Control+Option keys and the Power button but nothing changed.
Tried the bypass described on the first post of this thread and a few things happened:
-Fans on max
-MagSafe led won't light up
-Energy Saver on System Preferences would crash
-System Information shows basic information on both power and battery
-If I unplug the charger the laptop will work on battery just fine (apart from the issues described above)

There are no noticeable damage on the logic board - unless I'm not looking where I should.
I ran out of ideas, any suggestions…?

UPDATE:
Things seem pretty snappy with the bypass boot and very sluggish on normal boot.
The laptop as a whole looks and work normal apart from this battery issue - which seems to work too if I boot with the bypass though it still won't show it's charging or even exists.

Hello,
I have a mbp 13 early 2011 and I am desesperately looking for the Apple Technician Guide. Any hope ?
What about the 2012 model too ? It seems that Apple Service Manuals no more exist after 2012.

I bought a 13" MBP early 2011 i5 2.3Ghz with backlight issue. I think that problem is 2 capacitors missed. You can see in the pic.

Can someone tell me the values of these capacitors?
