Generally there are two ways now: Either fetch the Installer (for A96 or A190) and modify them as described on the first page(s) or get the pre-patched Installer for i.e. A96 (only server build, at the moment). When cloning either of them back to your install volume (that you´d attach to the target system via Firewire or USB (not possible to boot on older Macs from USB!) you´ll have to make sure that you set that checkmark in disk utilities, otherwise boot might fail in many cases.
Should it work if I go to open firmware and type boot usb0/disk@1:3,\System\Library\CoreServices\BootX because that works with normal installers

Hi @Macbookprodude,

No we are still without QE/CI but following the processes of replacing
the frameworks inside the ApplicationServices framework we get a very "smooth"
UI ( Not perfect but much better than without).
@Larsvonhier as also tested it with other graphics based on radeon and rage and
it seems to help also. Unfortunately no word on Geforces without QE/CI.

Best regards,
voidRunner
I´ve tested some Geforce GPUs as well, some perform better (AGP FX5200 go in MacBook G4 12") with smooth GUI (but only CI by software), some not so smooth (AGP FX 5200 in iMac G5 17").

Hi all and @Larsvonhier,

So I think I've found someone who might also be able to help us with the
kext for injecting the missing properties.
It's rehabman. He is a legend and developer of several kexts for hackintoshes and one
of them is USBInjectAll which injects USB connections/properties for USB non Macbook/iMac/Mac Pro
ports which are not activated when macOS versions from 10.10 or 10.11 stopped looking
at the DSDT for the available usb ports.
I think the injection methos is the same as the one for ATY_init and the source code is available
is his repository at

I'm trying to understand the code but maybe someone more knowledgeable can take a look at it.

I think this code along with the properties inside ATY_init can do what we need :D

Best regards,
voidRunner

Is USB 3.0 possible on PPC Snow Leopard? I have seen people making the drivers for x86, but I'm curious if we can make universal binary version.
Here is the link.

Cheers, Nikola!

Did you patch the installer yourself (manually or script) or did you try the pre-patched installation?
I patched it with the script, I'll try again, I've managed to boot the pre-installed one from post #200 from usb so not sure why I can't get the installer working. I can't image the pre-installed one either because its 80GB and my hdd is 40GB

Got it. The patch worked this time.

What kind of AirPort card you have? What chip inside?
Its an a1027 but that doesn't matter now because the bootx file doesn't have the tbxi type and chrp anymore. This is my leopard installer

And this is my 10.6 drive

It refuses to boot and brings me to the blinking question mark system folder.

...also: have a look a few pages back... some prelim. solutions can be found there.

Try booting the internal volume (i.e. with Tiger or Leo on it). Then open system settings and choose the SL installation as boot volume. On my eMac that´s the only way sometimes (!).

Doesn't work, the bootx file was corrupted after running the snow leopard patcher from github

Downloaded the A190 disk image and restored to a CF card. I can select the boot volume from System Preferences-Startup Disk, but my Mac Mini G4 will not boot from the CF card. I am using a Lexar Firewire Compact Flash RW019 (so I don't have to mess with OF to boot from USB) but it just ain't bootin'. The CF card I'm using is an industrial grade 8GB Swissbit card. I'm quite sure I've booted from another identical card on a intel iMac (albeit on a USB card reader). I'm leaning towards the fact that the Lexar will not boot, and I've been unable to find any firmware upgrades, so I'll try next with another FW disk/enclosure.
On the Mini's internal disk (480GB SSD) I have Tiger, Leopard and OS 9.22.

AFAIK USB 3.0 drivers appears in 10.7 in 2012...

I know, but they have managed to get it working on Snow Leopard, that's what picked my attention. I don't have any knowledge in compiling or back porting, that's why i have asked you guys if it's possible!

Cheers, Nikola!

Any new version thats been re-compiled, so QE, CI and Airport are working ? I am beta testing SL myself - software updates don't work.. safari works, all apps work.

Hi @Macbookprodude,

Unfortunately there is still no solution for the QE/CI problem.
And for Airports there as been some success reported a few posts back with some workarounds
for the 190 version. In the 96 Server version Airport seems to be working in all machines.
In using a DLSD powerbook with this version and it as worked from the beginning.

I don't think Software Updates will ever work because it will update the system with
Intel only software and so it will "kill" the installed version.

For Safari from Leopard which is more recent than the one on these DPs you can search for one
of my posts on how to get it working it also explains how to get quicktime updated.

If you look for one of my other posts it also explains how to get some UI "smoothness"
when using the 96 Server. I don't think it works on the 190 one.
@Larsvonhier correct me if i'm wrong on this one but you first tried on the 190 and
it didn't work right?

Best regards,
voidRunner

Hi all,

Yes we can build newer software ;-)
CorD 0.5.7 on SL PPC previously only available for SL Intel.
The source code

PS. some code changes need to be "finished"/"fixed" not a lot I did this in a few hours this afternoon.
Maybe now we can add newer code to connect to more recent Windows versions with added
security requirements.

Best regards,
voidRunner
