It had two micro-abrasions out of the box a quarter inch southwest of the Apple logo. Since then I've gotten a few (approx 3) more. It's honestly not as bad as it looks in the store - pretty sure people are trying to ruin it there...

I got my iPhone 7 Plus 256GB (Jet Black) phone last week.

I had already planned of not using a case. Just like when I used my iPhone 6 Plus 128gb and iPhone 6s Plus 128gb. Never used a case.

On the very first day I installed the Armorz glass full screen protector for the front and the back I had installed a clear 3M film protection (full body). The 3M film will protect the phone from scratches. No need to get stressed when using the phone and also can show off the jet black look.

Here is the front of my phone with the Armorz glass screen protector

Back of my Jet Black phone with the 3M film installed

I have these pouches to carry my phone

SF Bags Suede sleeve

Joli Originals and Snugg Leather pouches

I also got Apple Care+ for my phone.

Where did you get the 3M film from?

JB here. Lol
My 7 Plus JB has been holding up well. Had it for over a week now and I only see 2 very fine micro scratches. When I took my Slickwrap skin off for a couple of days. Because the ends of the wrap started to come off with the case I was using. I noticed the micro scratches under my LED desk lamp. I have put a new clear skip on it for good. So I think it will hold up well for awhile. This picture is from the day I put the new wrap on it.

I finally just got my jet black 7 plus delivered today and right out of the box as soon as I pulled plastic off I noticed 2 small micro scratches, you can only see them when the light hits it but I wasn't too happy about it.

I am in Hong Kong and there is a shop that provides this service. I do this for all my phones through them.

I believe in the US you guys have slickwraps which is about the same thing but mine is a dry install rather than a liquid install.

https://www.slickwraps.com/iphone-7-plus-naked-wrap.html

Don't recommend slickwraps unless you want to wait 2.5 weeks to get your order in. Ordered it to use on my JB 7, after a week of having my phone I decided to buy one from Amazon Prime to get it in 2 days.

Wrote return to sender on the package from slick wraps when it came. Poor customer service too, take days to reply to your inquiries.

Mine looks to have one small scuff quite likely from out of the box beneath the sim tray which is a little sad but not too worried and will likely take the pain away from any other that comes along haha. It was either that way from the box or from when I tipped it out of the box sideways and the charger fell out too but wouldn't have thought that should cause it. Has screen protector on it and am waiting for some Nanostate Onyx. But will see how she holds up in an Apple leather case!

My case I think is doing more harm then good... I took it off and saw some lint etc, daily use "debri".. used some tape to take it out and oddly got a slight scratch that's noticeable in bright bright light direct. Otherwise, going very well

If you case is a clear TPU, or one of those polycarbonate clear solid backs, this is inevitable. The best type of case has a microfiber lining like the Apple OEM case. Even in that case, the sides are unlined and are just a flat leather. No fibers to trap dirt particles.

Mine is in an Apple Leather Case (Midnight Blue) and it has either gotten a scratch while in there or had a couple more small ones from out of the box. It's a bit hard to tell. But the combo looks amazing.

Yeah, honestly I LOVE all the colours, but the JB is perfect for me because I never actually enjoyed holding the 6+ I had. That finish was, for me, too slippy and cold when caseless, and too bulky and uncomfortable when in a case. There's a real warmth and ergonomic brilliance to the JB 7+ that makes it worth the upgrade alone.

Just my opinion, not shooting down anyone else'a so don't think that. All the colours look great. But the JB *feels* amazing, to me.

Lmao, I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

The phone is still aluminum, it will be just as "cold" as a non JB iPhone. Also, due to its polish, yes it has more grip when dry, but when wet(you know since its water proof and all), it's a lot more slippery, again due to its slick polish.

I do agree with you on having a case on the Plus sized phones does make it bulkier to handle, even with thinner cases I feel a pretty big difference compared to no case.

I'm glad you're enjoying it......but it really sounds like you're making others feel bad about not getting a JB.

I'm not singling you out, but every time there's a new iPhone released, there seems to be this "elitism" issue about either a certain color or size or shipping dates. Yea, everyone has their preference and style and should get whatever they want, but it's all the freakin same on the inside!

I would have gone for the invisible shield but they stop selling in Hong Kong a couple of years ago. They even had an office in Hong Kong. Anyway, I found another shop in Hong Kong that installs 3M protectors but these are dry installs like the DBrand ones and not the liquid installs like invisible shield. I got for the clear 3M films or sometimes I go for the clear carbon films. This time I went with clear film to show the Jet Black color.

I'm very sorry you took my post the wrong way. If you look through my post history, you'll see very clearly that I have no elitism. And in the post you quoted alone, I said various times that I loved all the colours, and that it was just my opinion, and people should reach their own conclusions.

The 'warmth' I mention is more an aesthetic difference I've noticed in handling. I'm not specifically talking about how warm or cold the phone is. I'm talking about the difference between two years of owning a Silver & White 6 Plus and two weeks of owning a JB 7+, and a few of the things I noticed.

Again, I apologise if you took my post the wrong way, but if you go over my quoted post again, and my previous posts, you'll see quite clearly that there's no ill-feeling intended. Peace.

No worries, I can tell you're from the other side of the Pond by the way you spell "aplogise" lol.

Again, I didn't mean to single you out, the second half of what I said was more of a general statement based on a lot of what I've been seeing on this forum year after year.

It's all good.

And yeah, sadly it's one of those things that tends to happen. Most of the time it's people convincing themselves they've made the right call. I can see why you thought my post was doing that, in hindsight.

But to re-iterate, no ill-feeling intended. Just a whole load of personal bias. :p
